I have a frame full of component tabs set in an auto layout. The tabs are stroked and the gap between is set at -1 to avoid double line thickness between them. The default tabs have a grey stroke whereas the active tab has a blue stroke. Canvas stacking is set to ‘last on top’ which works great when the first tab is active. When the second tab is active, it’s left blue stroke is hidden by the first tab’s grey right stroke. I get the same result (but mirrored) by swapping canvas stacking over to ‘first on top’. If I bring the second tab to the front, due to the auto layout, it moves physical position to the first in the main frame. How do I keep it’s position in the auto layout but also move it to the front?

I love the vertical trim option that just came out. But as of now it’s not supported by any browsers. So if you enable this feature the developer you hand off too will not be able to use vertical trimming, therefore your all the designs will be off due to the larger line heights that the vertical trim was subtracting. So while this is a great idea, if you can’t actually use it on the web yet, you’re just making more work for yourself and your developer. Am I missing something here?

Previously when you’re viewing a Figma file as a viewer (so without edit permissions) you could hover over variables in the properties panel to view its (px) value. This seems to be broken now as there no longer is any hover state anymore. This means it’s a lot more difficult to figure out values such as corner radius when you’re not an editor.

Hello everyone, I need help solving a problem. I created an adaptive button using variants and connected them with “On Click.” I need the overlay with the message “Item added to wishlist” to appear when clicking the “+” button, and at the same time, the “➕” should change to “✔️.” However, this doesn’t work as expected. I understand that the issue is that the button can’t respond to two different triggers at the same time, but I don’t know how to solve this problemHere’s the link to the video  

I need to switch from a Professional Plan to Organization Plan in order to use the branching feature for a client that likes to snoop. I only need the Organization Plan for about six months, which is the duration of the contract. Typically my projects don’t require branching. I see that the Professional Plan is billed monthly and the Organization Plan is billed annually. So, I’m out $960 even though I only need it for half the year. And please, for the love of all that is good and holy, If you are going to have a plan bill annually, don’t show the pricing breakdown by month: https://www.figma.com/pricing/Anyho, long story short (and this is probably a no), can we buy features month to month?  

Local variables are only accessible on an individual’s local system, right? Is there any way to view someone else’s local variables — for instance, if they’ve already set up a great system — so others can build on it instead of starting from scratch?Another way:Is there any way to view and study the local variables used in Figma files available in the community? Specifically, I’m curious if it's possible to examine how others have organized their variables within their files, so I can learn from well-structured systems and avoid reinventing the wheel when working on similar projects.

How do I remove ghost color styles?I added some color styles, but after deleting them, they still appear in Libraries while not showing up in the color styles list or selection colors.Oddly enough, I can add fills on top of them 😆Important note: There are no external libraries linked to this file.Thanks for helping!

Hi there, I’m on the latest Figma version. I’ve added some new variables in the team’s UI Library which sits under the Design System space. There are three collections inside this UI Library called: Theme Master, Colors and Spacing. I have another Figma design file sitting in its own project space, and I’ve imported the UI Library into this design file. But I can only see a portion of the variables from the UI Library (about a quarter only). We have Enterprise license. Questions Does anyone have the same issue, and do you have a workaround this? Must both the UI Library and the design files be in the same team space?

I have a shared library that houses a number of frequently used colors as well as separate design files that utilize them. I recently updated several of the color values; however, the components that reference these values still appear to be showing the old colors. Restarting my Wifi, computer, and Figma as well as closing, reopening, or even duplicating the file has no effect. The only thing that seems to fix it is clicking the color name in the Fill panel and clicking the color name (that is already selected). Obviously this solution isn’t scalable when you have a large amount of colors and components that need updating. Can anyone please suggest a way to ensure the latest colors are displayed throughout the file automatically without requiring manually updating each instance? Thanks in advance!

Is there a way I can turn a normal autolayout textbox frames into an component Instance, without having to copy the component and replace existing texts one by one. For example I have multiple mobile pages that is not linked to a component as below, is there a way to click all the text boxes and link it into becoming a component instance?  

I’m having the same issue! Confirmed that the PNG has a transparent background, every time I import it (either through importing media or just dragging the file) it has a white background instead of transparent.

Hi together we are facing a strange behaviour regarding the Figma API Endpoint /v1/images We are fetching some images but sometimes it happens that we get an API response with an empty data field, but no additional error like “to many request” or similar. Is there any know issue or limitation?

My Figma desktop doesn’t get updated. I checked the solutions in the community and tried them all. I cleared the cache and uninstall the app many times also check the update on Figma app. but it doesn’t work. I’m getting mad with this problem. Please help me to update my Figma to 2024 version. Thanks. Also when i get the modal of the update available i press install now it doean’t work too. even i get this modal rarely.

Hi all.I want to get the Figma version using the plugin API. 

I have started to create some styles with gradients. I have assigned variables to the individual stops. However, if you look at the element with this style as a developer, the variables do not appear but only the hex values for the individual stops. This makes little sense to me if others cannot see the variables that have been defined for the stops. Am I doing something wrong in the structure of the styles or is it designed so that you can’t see them?

I’m working in Figma slides, I have tried web and desktop but the problem persists.I am in Design Mode and have the move tool selected and Fixed Size text box, however it scales proportionally, including the text inside. I just want to resize the box. It’s like I’m stuck in the scale tool somehow. I have restarted and still like this. The same for exisitng and new text boxes.
