We’re currently working on a highly complex component that supports 2–6 slots, multiple states (Default, Hover, Focus, Disabled, etc.), and two size variants (Large & Small). Users can select the desired number of slots from a dropdown, and each slot is set to Fill within the container. However, we’ve encountered a major issue—when designers replace a slot with pre-defined slot elements and then change the state (e.g., Default → Hover or Disabled) or switch between Large and Small variants, the component does not retain its content or any overridden properties in an instance. This is adding unnecessary complexity and preventing us from achieving the desired functionality. Has anyone faced a similar issue or found a workaround for retaining content and overrides when switching states or sizes? Any insights would be greatly appreciated!
Hi everyone, I’m experiencing some critical issues with Figma libraries and I’d love to get some insights from the community. Parent Component and Instance Connection is Broken Even within the library file itself, instances are not properly linked to the parent component. When I modify the main component, the changes do not reflect in its instances, and sometimes the parent component cannot be located. Instances in Linked Files Can't Find the Parent Component Team members linked their personal files to the library and used components from it. However, when selecting an instance and clicking "Go to Library," it navigates to the library file but does not take us to the exact location of the parent component. Additionally, when we try to "Swap Instance," the library does not appear in the list, and instead, it shows "Created in this file.” Does anyone know how to resolve this issue? I’d really appreciate any advice from those who have encountered similar problems
The current Tables feature in Figma feels quite limited. It would be fantastic if some basic functionalities could be introduced soon, such as: • The ability to easily resize cells without needing to adjust font size • The option to merge cells • Top, middle, and bottom text alignment options These enhancements would bring Figma’s table functionality more in line with what we already have in tools like Keynote and Google Slides.
I built a component, added a string variable, which I called from an on-click event setup on a button. It was working great. The next day the variables were gone, and because of it, I can’t control the action on the component. Here’s the local variables (I added a color and a second string, just for testing I really only need the first one in the list): Here’s a screenshot showing what is available when I try to apply one of those variables (note, the variables are created right in this file, yet when I select “Created in this file” they don’t show up - those two variables that are displaying, are in a different collection, but there’s 8 other variables below those that don’t show either): I cannot figure out what happened. They WERE showing up when I first created them, and I was using them successfully. Now they’re not listed as available variables that can be applied. You can see that they’re in the collection called “Routing Switcher” which was created right within this page. So th
Hello, I am currently writing a software that recognises color differences. In my unit tests I am passing rgb values (i.e. blue: 0, 0, 255) I tried to do some smoke tests with some images exported with figma. To my surprise my tests were failing, meaning the colors were not the same/accurate or there was a bug in my code. To triple check I did not have a bug I’ve imported in Figma the exported images, used the color picker and yes Figma confirmed it to me as well. Here my export settings: Color profile: sRGB (this was basically the only option, selected by default) Quality: High Image Resampling: Detailed. Could this be because of the color profile used while exporting? Does this happen to you as well? Is this supposed to be like this?
版本更新后,我的客户端无法使用快捷键,这给我做图带来了很大困扰,希望尽快解决这个BUG
Is there a way to add the other effects on figma slides such hover? Are there going to more animations for the objects in the future?
The hover area for the “click-and-drag to resize” functionality is only 1px wide, unlike all of the other inputs on the same panel that have a representative icon, and subsequently larger hover area. Can we add an icon or otherwise make the font size hover area consistent with its siblings?
Regular draft created by me just gone. The trash is clean. Is it possible that somebody hacked me and deleted it? Is it possible to restore this file?
"Regarding the page names on the left side of Figma, when we are building a component library, each component may have updates. We hope that there can be a tag next to the page name to indicate the 'updated' status. Is it possible for Figma to implement this in the future?"
I had two files open on Figma desktop app. I restarted my Mac and the two files cannot be found anywhere. I have checked deleted (by anyone) as well. They are not there in my recently closed history. Please help.
I upgraded to pro over the weekend so that I could add the Shadcn UI Kit for Figma. It’s a library of components. I’ve followed these instructions but I can’t get it to publish to my account. https://www.shadcndesign.com/docs/getting-started Every time I try to publish it a figma dialog asks me to upgrade to pro. But I’ve already upgraded my account to pro. I only have one account and it’s a pro account. How can I add this UI library to my account?
Hi For a testing phase of a prototype, I would like to collect1) the timestamp of every user interactions (clic, mouse movement, keyboard digit etc).2) Number of click on certain buttonsIt is possibile withing Figma? (but also using Figma API)Alternativaly, it is possible using some 3rd part tool? I used Useberry and Maze, but I can’t there thanks
I don't quite understand why I have 3 collections that I set different modes - responsive grid, font size, newsletter 3 collections with mode currently, I have design for newsletter in desktop and mobile version I wanted to assign newly created “newsletter” collection to desktop and mobile so I create Desktop and Mobile mode in my newsletter collection but this collection just won't show in Appearance and also any value I try to search previously, in my newsletter Desktop 600px, I still can see “responsive grid” and “font size” collection appear in Appearance, but Mobile only show “font size” collection, but now, I don't know why both of Desktop and Mobile can only see “font size” in Appearance now there must be something I don't know about using Mode and Appearance, I thought it is for responsive and light/dark mode, but I have no idea what is the restriction now, also i thought as long as I set something in the Local Variables, I can search them while setting the values. my initial t
