Figma Make chat panel not loading + Send button disabled (Full seat) — no UI error shown

Hi Figma Support,

I’m on a paid plan with a Full seat, but Figma Make chat is not usable. The Make editor loads, however the AI chat panel won’t load properly and the Send button stays disabled/greyed out, with no visible in-app error message. This blocked my workflow and I couldn’t deliver my work on time, which caused significant disruption.

What I’m seeing

  • Figma Make file opens normally (editor loads, multiplayer connects).

  • Make chat panel doesn’t load (or appears stuck), and Send is disabled even when typing.

  • No actionable UI warning is shown.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open a Figma Make file: [paste Make file URL here]

  2. Open the Make chat panel

  3. Type any prompt

  4. Observe: Send button remains disabled / chat doesn’t load

Expected result

  • Chat panel loads and I can submit prompts.

Actual result

  • Chat panel fails to load and/or Send remains disabled indefinitely.

Environment

  • OS: Windows

  • Browser/App: [Chrome / Desktop app — fill in]

  • Network: [home / office / VPN — fill in]

  • GPU (from console): AMD Radeon RX 460 (ANGLE/D3D11)

Relevant console messages (excerpt)

  • Statsig is not ready to log exposures, will retry...

  • POST https://o22594.ingest.us.sentry.io/... net::ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT

  • Access to image at 'https://www.gravatar.com/avatar/...' has been blocked by CORS policy

  • Autosave Changes not available or already claimed by another tab

If you need anything else (HAR file, screenshots, timestamps), I can provide them. This issue is urgent because it prevented me from completing time-sensitive work.

Thank you for confirming ​@yusuf kaygın! I was just about to ask if everyone here could try doing a hard refresh to see if things worked normally again. This should now be fixed.

 

For everyone here: we did experience (and fix) a bug that was causing this - everything should be working as expected now, but please @-me if you still notice issues.

      Hey ​@yusuf kaygın - thank you for reporting. We have some early investigation being done to see if there is an issue happening on our end. I will update this topic when I learn more.

      Hi — thanks for the quick update and for investigating.
      This is urgnt on my side because Figma Make is currently blocking my workflow

      Hi Figma team,

      I all the sudden cannot see any of my past prompts or send new prompts in any existing figma make files, including my own and my teammate’s files with edit permission granted.

      I’ve tried restarting my figma app, restarting my laptop and opening the file in the Figma Beta desktop app, nothing has worked :(

      If anyone is still seeing the issue, try a hard refresh: Cmd + Shift + R

          Subject: Figma Make prompts disappeared - unable to continue building app

          Issue Description:

          I am experiencing a critical issue with Figma Make that is blocking my work. All of my previous prompts have disappeared from my project, and I am now unable to add new prompts to continue building my app.

          Details:

          • Product: Figma Make
          • Account type: Paid Professional subscriber
          • Issue: Complete loss of prompt history and inability to input new prompts
          • Impact: Cannot continue development on my current project

          What happened:

          1. I was actively building an app using Figma Make
          2. All previous prompts suddenly disappeared from the project
          3. The prompt input functionality is no longer working - I cannot add new prompts

          What I need:

          • Recovery of my lost prompt history if possible
          • Restoration of the ability to add new prompts to my project
          • Guidance on preventing this issue in the future

          This issue is urgent as it's preventing me from completing time-sensitive work.

          Hey ​@Rose Figliano - were you in the middle of working in a Make file as you normally would have when this outage occurred?

          Just to make sure I understand: did all of your work you did (prompts you ran, edits you made, etc.) during this outage disappear? Or did your entire file’s info disappear? A hard refresh did not restore anything?

          If you were affected by this bug, there should be no data loss and normal services are back in place.

          ​@ksn No there is zero outage in my building.   My entire file information disappeared and a hard refresh did not restore.
