Hello, I am unable to access my Figma account that I made with my university’s email address ever since I graduated. The university closed all email accounts of the graduates so I can’t reach the verification code to sign in. I have important projects, assets and files in there that are important for my research. How can I still access the account, change the email address and retrieve my data?

Hi Philipp, thanks for reaching out to the Figma Forum! For security reasons, Figma can only send login verification codes to the email address that’s currently linked to your account. Since your university email has been deactivated, this would prevent you from receiving the code directly.

I’ve gone ahead and created a support ticket on your behalf so our support team can review your case and help you recover access. For reference, your case number is #1675878, and I submitted it using your email address phxxxn@gxxxe. The team will follow up with you directly there.

In the meantime, one thing you can try: do you happen to have your old university email set up to forward messages to your new email address? If so, try resetting your password. This can sometimes bypass Google’s single sign-on and allow you to log back into your Figma account, where you’d then be able to update the email address yourself.

If that’s not an option, the support team will be best equipped to assist further. Thanks for your patience, and I hope we can help you regain access to your files soon!

Hi Céline,

thanks for reaching out and yes, you summed it up perfectly. 
(redacted by the moderator due to PII) is the adress that I cannot reach anymore.
and (redacted by the moderator due to PII) is the new one from my Masters that I would like to use.
Unfortunately, I didn't set up my old email adress to forward the mails towards a different account, so the option that you mentioned about bypassing Google's single sign on is not an option.
Luckily, Chris from the support team already contacted me and I think I'm supposed to discuss things further with him.
