Has anyone heard about variable beta….fx button, database icon..variable scoping like Prototype scope..???

I’m having issues when using prototype interactions to trigger boolean variables in order to toggle layer visibility on a component instance. This only appears to be on component instances as opposed to normal layers/frames, as when I detach an instance, the layer visibility toggle appears to work again. Not sure if this has been impacted due to the recent updates to variable collections.

I’m creating a social media post card and I have a hover animation effect for the post interaction buttons. But when I hover over it in preview mode, the tooltips get cutoff by the layer below it despite it being on top with no *Clip content* selected.Anyone know why this is and how I get work my way around this? 

Recently a problem happened with my accounts, i had 2 figma accounts that i used regularly, but after a recent update i logged into Figma thru Google and saw this, these are not my accounts, the email is the same as the ones on my main accounts but the accounts themselves including picture, name and files are totally different, what should i do, how do i get rid of those doppelganger accounts? I want my files back! I’ve already tried logging in thru email adress but i keep getting into those. 

Hi, I canceled my subscription in March 2025 and was shocked to see a €193.44 charge on my card today. I never saved my card details. How did they pull money from my card? I do not see an active subscription or a saved card on my account.

When I try to open my files it says,  “An error occur while openingt the editor”.And when I try to make new file it says”Network error while fetching resource” This happens on both browser and desktop and it doesnt matter if i change account. Im having an educatonal account.

HiToday I opened my PC and I realized that the cursor chat (/) in Figma is disabled or doesn’t work for me.My group in Figma is able to talk with me through the cursor chatting, but I can only communicate thought text boxes and it’s very annoying. Please someone help me to fix this and be able to communicate again.

Hi everyone,I'm trying to create an interactive dropdown component in Figma that uses variables and conditions to manage its behavior. Here's what I've done: I've built a dropdown component in my design system. All the variants are defined and values are passed through variables. The interactive prototype is built inside the component itself. I published the component and used it in the main project. I expected that by setting new variable values in the project, the prototype interactions would adapt accordingly. But in practice, it seems the component still follows the original interactions defined in the design system file — and my new values don’t reflect in the interactions.What I want is a flexible dropdown like the one in the attached image, where I can: Use it anywhere in the project Just change the variables to update the state For example: if more than two items are selected, show the number instead of tags I think I need to use conditions to handle the logic, but it

I’ve watched a ton of tutorials and looks up different articles, videos, etc. I can’t figure out how to get my animation to smart animate, not just dissolve. The file names are the exact same in the different layers. If anyone has any solution or advice, I would be very appreciative. Right now the trigger is on click as I try to figure out a solution. how do i figure out what varirants are conflicting and how to fix it? It has to be one of the x vectors but how do I figure out what’s wrong with them? 

First picture is mine and the second one is from a youtube tutorial. But what’s in the 2nd picture won’t show up on my screen in the first picturem why? 

Has anyone had the problem lately of making design changes, but they aren’t updating in the prototype view? This doesn’t happen all the time, but when it does I need to refresh the prototype tab for the changes to appear. For example I just added a banner to one of my frames and the banner didn’t show up in my prototype until I refreshed the tab. I’ve also noticed it with smaller changes such as adding borders to elements, and the borders don’t appear. If this is a bug it could be affecting viewers of my prototypes too, who won’t always be seeing the latest version and won’t know it. Or there will be missing elements and the prototype will look broken to them. I use the desktop app so haven’t confirmed if this is a problem in the browser as well.

I’ve done all the tutorials in youtube or in Figma community, by deleting Figma folder in localapp or app data, but still can’t login

Hi everyone,I’m working on a backend pipeline that generates SVG files and I’d like to automate sending them into Figma—or at least programmatically editing existing SVG layers—without manual uploads. I’ve looked through the Figma REST API and Plugin API docs but haven’t found any endpoints for SVG import or direct layer manipulation. Is there a supported way to upload/import an SVG file into a Figma document via API? Can I modify existing SVG nodes or layers in a Figma file programmatically? I’ve considered the Plugin API, but it’s not suitable because it always requires opening the Figma interface and manually running the plugin. Does the Figma Enterprise plan offer any additional API capabilities or endpoints for SVG import/editing that aren’t available on lower tiers? Are there any SDKs, undocumented endpoints, or plugin-based workarounds you’d recommend? Any pointers to documentation, examples, or community plugins would be hugely appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I'm working in someone else's file. They have a frame with an image fill set to "fit". The image is flush left to the frame. When I replace the image with a similar 1:1 photo it becomes centered in the frame. How do I reposition it?Video recording. 

Hey guys,I’ve always had this problem, but I figured that UI3 would solve this. For some weird reason, there is no COPY action when right clicking on a style, only CUT. Why in the world would I want to cut a style from a file rather than copy/paste it?

I have an alert component that has a different look depending on its width - at narrow it lays out vertically, and when wider it has a more horizontal layout. There are min- and max-widths setup so that the narrow version can’t go wider than 719, and the horizontal can’t go narrower than 720.What I want now is to build a frame to contain this alert component (which is set to fill container), that when stretched will automatically set the correct alert variant inside it. The vertical variant has a max-width of 719px, and the horizontal variant has a min-width of 720 - I want a frame that when stretched wider than 719 automatically switches to the other variant. I’m pretty sure I can do this with variables and modes but I’m not familiar enough with them to figure it out on my own - I would love it if someone has an example file, or anything similar, to point me to.

Hello, relatively new to Figma. Need some help with spacing. Not sure why my spacing is different between the first line (two grid squares for ref) and the second (one grid square for ref). I’m just looking for my text box to follow my line height when resizing the boundaries of it. Any help would be great, I’m sure it’s something simple I’m missing. Thank you

I need urgent support. I'm the creator of a paid Figma UI kit called Sublima UI, which took me over 2 years to design and develop with great care. Recently, a user posted a public comment with a link to a free copy of my UI kit — essentially pirating my product.The issue is: I can't delete the comment or block the user. The link is still public and might severely affect my sales. This is my main source of income, and seeing it shared like this for free is heartbreaking. If anyone here has experience dealing with this kind of situation — either through platform moderation, copyright enforcement, or how to get content taken down — please help me. This is a critical issue for me and my small independent business.

I have 4 full seats that we’ve been paying for.  3 need only dev mode access.  When trying to downgrade the users, it says I will be billed additionally for the 3 users I need to downgrade.  I don’t want additional 3 additional dev seats, I want 1 full and 3 dev.  How do I do this?  I keep getting prompted that each change will be an addition, not a change???
