Hi, We were exploring Figma for our team so we’ve bought one paid account. We’ve played with roles, folders, files etc. During this process one client critical file has been lost. Files has not been deleted by account owner or any of other team members. Files is not available under “deleted”. We are missing the file as it is business critical. Is there any chance to recover it. We’ve already send ticket or two to support but no feedback yet? I’ve red through the forums and saw there are some cases when deleting teams/projects or some other strange setup may “create” a missing file status. However I am not sure how to proceed to try this option. Thank you.

I’ve shared access with an account that is outside our organization to edit our Figma space. The account accepted the invite, however in the sharing settings their account name appears with an exclamation mark next to it and a message that says "this person has a restricted account. They will be able to edit files when their account is upgraded. Is this a problem on their account end or is there something we can do to fix this issue?

Hello, I’ve question for who want to help me to better understand. I’ve an account, a team and a project, and for this my company pay a seat (professional). I need to involve a colleague in this project that work for a different company. He has already his own account and his company already pay a seat for him (professional). The question is…is there a way to work together as editors to my project using our personal account, and our personal seat paid by our companies? Thanks a lot who want to answer.

I use a style from my team library for a frame inside a frame. After I rescale(use key K) the outside frame, the link between style and team library is broken, the style becomes separated effects. I want to rescale the whole frame to be used in different place and now the style link is broken, I couldn’t keep those style same as each other.

As I’m trying to export some frames, they get exported with white borders/angles around them. How can I get rid of it?

Hi! I’m new to the concept of variables and tokens. I have several Figma files, and I’ve been using a style library until now. I can assign my library to every new file I created. How does it work with variables and tokens? Should I create them in a library? Is this something I’ll have to replicate on each file?

I searched, but dont know what the issue is… hope theres any help! I need to use Figma for school, and have put my school email in a verification thing. When I go to that site as linked by my professor it says I am already verified, and links me to the Figma browser interface. Once there, I cannot access any professional features and am asked to get a professional plan by paying. The automated customer support email tells me I am on a «Starter account» - so I gather I am NOT verified. How do I fix this? I need to join my group’s team… Thanks!

Is anyone having this issue? I have screen recordings showing what happens. in short: – I create a new file give it a name and move file to a project the name does not save the project does not have the file i can search for the file and find it

Is anyone else having 503 Temporary Outage errors when accessing their files? The status page shows green but we cannot reach anything

When I try to change the colour of the icon, sometimes it will only change some parts of the icon. The icons consist of a single vector shape and the variants have standardised layer naming and default colour white. Changing colour, the “selection colors” section in the right-hand side tool bar shows the change although nothing has visually changed. I maintain a component library and use its components on other file. My icon24 component has currently 146 variants and I have issue currently with 7 of them. Changing the colour of the icons in the component library does what you would expect and does not reproduce a similar issue. The issue is present only on other files that use this component and it is the same icon variants that behave inappropriately. Recreating a variant removes the issue but it might appear randomly on any of the other variants. Please help 🥲

One last question before I stop spamming this site with new posts 😭 I’ve been slowly moving away from Google in favor of my own email system but I can’t find a way to swap my Figma email away from Gmail. Is changing it possible? If I could login via an email and password instead with a different email I would like to do that Thanks.

I recently started using FigJam. Once the board has been created, the actions most often performed are zooming in and zooming out and moving within the board. If you have a PC keyboard at hand, these actions are very easy to perform. However, I have found it a bit awkward to perform some of these actions when working with a whiteboard, without a PC near me. The whiteboard works as a large touch screen, so finger gestures (pinch) work to zoom in and zoom out. However, I did not find a convenient way to move (drag) the canvas: using two fingers for example as I do with the touchpad, the software does not seem to know whether I am dragging and moving the canvas or zooming it. It is true that I can use the ‘hand’ button in the toolbar, but it is inconvenient to switch from one tool to another. Do you have any suggestions for making it easy to drag the canvas?

Hi, I like to work with auto-layouts but i work with Figma newbies and sometimes when they work with components i’ve worked on, they get overwhelmed. Is there a quick way to remove every auto layout of all frames selected or contained in a frame ? Because it can be very tedious to remove them one by one.

Hi! I am on a project right now where my team has a lot of mobile screens designed and we want to match all the texts to text variables. Is there any way to connect Text Variables to text fields that contain exactly the same text? A plugin or something? Example: Having a Text Variable “Log in”, Find all the “Log in” texts, and connect them to it.

When I try to use the new beta feature “Swap component” using smart animation transition And fix the scroll position of that component. the animation jump down then up and doesn’t do the smart transition. I know it is still in beta but i want to shout out for feedback

It’s been over three days since I filed a support ticket. On Oct 3rd I had a designer from my sister company manage to access my team’s Figma organization account without my Admin permission. She has an account with the other company, but our Figma accounts are separate. However, she was managed to change her seat role and view files that required invite only. She never had access to this account or was given access to view files on this account. This is really concerning to me. The some can easily break into my Figma organization account without being given permission from the Admin, which is me.

Hello All, I’m new to the Figma world and I was wondering if there is an option or workaround to my issue. I saw that this was asked about a year ago but no answer/solution was given. I’m looking for something similar to Format painter in Word. I need to align boxes, texts etc. on multiple pages and instead of manually entering the coordinates for each one separately form each element (very time consuming) it would be nice if I could just copy the coordinates, fonts, definitions etc. and apply them to the target location instantly like with format painter. I’m new to using figma so I’m definitely still learning. I followed a tutorial on how to create a loading animation but when I go to play it, it doesn’t animate at all. I don’t know if I’m missing something or if I did it wrong so any help would be greatly appreciated. Figma – 29 Mar 23

Hey, not sure if this is the right section. If it isn’t, just let me know. I’ve been struggling with this issue for a few weeks right now, and it really affects my productivity. When I select a Regular weight text style, Figma converts it to Bold. I was not able to identify a pattern of what causes this or when this happens. Does Figma do online virtual trainings for staff? My principal is asking me to find out as our staff is currently struggling to use it

Hi guys. When I make progress on my design file, I usually create a prototype and share the link with clients so they can experience the look and feel in real time. However, I recently discovered that clients can somehow access my actual working file through the prototype link. 😑 I want to share a prototype link that only shows the prototype, without granting access to my working file. Is that possible? I mean, it should be. Currently, clients need to request view permissions for the prototype, which is fine, but those permissions should apply strictly to the prototype link. After granting view permission, I noticed they can also access my working file, exposing all pages and work-in-progress areas. 😱🤯 Am I missing something about sharing a prototype-only link, or is this a serious issue? If that’s the case❗️, Figma definitely needs an option for a prototype-only link. If I want clients to access my working file, I can do this by sharing the file link separatel
