i found a bug on the effect slider. It happend when i want to use the slider to increase or decrease the amount of blur, or position of the effect, i cant do it using mouse slide like i usually do. I have no worries for this bug because i can still input the value using keyboard, but i think its a big problem for some other people. btw. i cant put attachment, so no img or video for better understanding 😭 Figma app version: idk, how to tell the ver, maybe 124.6.5 (written on the app.exe)

Setup M2 mac, Sonoma Figma desktop app Figma mirror app iphone Troubleshooting I tried Delete cache, didnt work Constrains of the images Reboot apps Check if the images are IN the frame I drives me crazy, maybe because the Sonoma update? Since yesterday I have had a similar problem that I had in December/January. I don’t get the “update component pop-up” so I can’t mass update the components. So now I have to update every single component manually, even if I load the same components multiple times, I have to update them all manually. For info: I have this problem on a Windows HP laptop and on a MacBook Pro M3. The solution last time was to close Figma and Reload the design file or tab. That worked for a while but this time that doesn’t work anymore. Figma has had a lot of bugs lately. From getting super slow when opening an overlay screen to this kind of update component bugs. 😒 This makes work a hassle and it takes me much longer to do simple tasks. Please fix this.

Hello, I have a project using Figma REST API to get a Figma file and read some of the properties of a component Instance. A component has another instance as a children which is hidden. The hidden instance has a text layer child. A few days ago I was able to read the properties of this specific child but now it seems like it is not returned: the hidden instance has empty array as for the children collection. Is this expected now because this was introduced a couple of days ago and is not documented neither in the REST API docs nor in the changelog. Is there a way I can bypass this? Thanks.

Hi community! This is tricky to explain. But sometimes the arrow up/down seem to simply move the Caret Position in the input field to the beginning or the end, instead of changing the selected item in the list. If I hover the list, the up and down selection starts to work again. Using arrow down to select from all auto-complete searching is deep in my muscle memory, as I’m sure many of yours as well, so this issue has become somewhat if a nuisance to me. I never realized how many times per minute I searched and selected a style or variable before this started not to work. Could this be something with my trackpad, keyboard, computer etc. Or is it something anyone else also has experience?

I want this component to operate like a gwern hoverlink – When I hover over the text, the popup should appear. If I move my mouse away from the text and the popup, it should hide again. BUT – if move my mouse over the popup it should continue to stay visible, until the mouse leaves the popup. I actually think this used to work by simply adding a delay to the mouseLeave interaction on the text but this no longer works – the popup will hide even if my mouse is in it. A recent update (2-3 weeks ago) changed this behavior. Any solutions?

I’m using the latest version of Figma on my education account and have activated AI, but I don’t see the AI prompt in the toolbar for creating prototypes, designs, or suggesting auto layout. Does anyone know why these features might not be available?

Hi, I have created my first Figma Slides Template to be used by my colleagues (also non-designers) and I am looking for an easy way for them to be able to import excel or google spreadsheet tables into the Figma Slides. I have tried to use the Table to Figma Plug-in, however, it does not work in Figma Slides. All plugins are disabled for me for Figma Slides and it says it is unavailable in view-only. I have a professional plan.

When applying multiple layers of box-shadow (effects), the CSS code generated by the Dev Mode for the property returns the correct values, but in incorrect order. See image below for the issue breakdown. As anyone experienced this with the Dev Mode handoff tool? Can anyone confirm this bug?

Here I mistakenly added a few annual seats, but I actually only need 12 annual seats. Later on, I received the payment bill, but I couldn’t find the operation entrance to remove those seats that are not applicable. Don’t tell me anymore to solve the issue by changing permissions in the member list, it’s useless, as the additional annual seats are not being used by any members at all.

Hi team, I’m really hoping someone can help me, I’ve started to use Figma and when I first started I was able to copy and paste vector graphics from illustrator to Figma without any issues, now all of a sudden the vectors are coming in all broken. See first image below They still remain as vectors but there are bits missing and lines going everywhere, I have tried all the normal paste properties and clipboard handling settings in both Figma and illustrator. I have tried updating all versions of software as well as reinstalling applications and nothing seems to work. I’ve also tried to save as an SVG and sometimes this work and sometimes it doesn’t with the outlines not being clean (see second image) I’m hoping someone on this forum has had a similar issue and has a fix or work around. Please help this is driving me nuts and is really effecting the way I work, thanks

Hi everyone! I need assistance with enabling the Education Plan on my existing Figma account linked to my Google email. I previously used my university email for education plan on this account, but it somehow got unlinked, and now I cannot log in with it. Consequently, I created a new Figma account with my school email to verify my educational status which I haven’t done yet. However, I would like to keep my current projects and work on the original Google-linked account. Is it possible to transfer the Education Plan verification to this account or merge the two accounts? Thank you for your help!

Here’s my situation. I’m a designer so I use the Figma file as an editor. My client has banned all external plugins due to security reasons. We are not paying for dev mode at the moment. How can I just find out how many objects on the screen I have selected? That’s all I want to know. It can’t be true that I need a whole plugin just to expose a functionality that I KNOW Figma natively has (now hidden behind a pywall). And I am not paying for Dev Mode just to be able to count my objects. That would be silly. This feels like such a basic thing, it should be displayed by default somewhere when objects are selected. Can someone please tell me there’s something I’m missing and that this is in fact possible?

Hi, I ran into some trouble when creating a design system. The main component has 2 variants (closed/open). When it’s open, it shows a nested component. Swapping the instance of this nested component works OK when the prototype starts in “open” state (when the nested component is shown) but displays the original instance when starting in “closed” state. I made a little video : figma - prototype behavior with swapped component in variant How am I supposed to achieve this ? Best, Matthieu

I sometimes make a master component of a whole page and then create instances with variations to display different states on the same page. But when I do, the name of the instance is not displayed, and this makes it harder to understand what state the page represents.

Hello, i saw somewhere someone create a toggle (boolean) to turn a property on or off e.g show icon or hide icon, and on toggling that boolean, another toggle would switch off. I was wondering if anyone has done this and where i can go to learn how to do it. It would be v helpful. Another example: I have two property boolean switches. One is to show/hide an orange pin. One is to show/hide a grey pin. I would never show both at the same time. How can i create a condition whereby if i decide to toggle and show the orange pin, it automatically switches the other boolean toggle and switches grey pin off?

Hi folks. Imagine there’s a Navigation drawer which opens in an overlay. Now you pick an item from the menu and it opens a dialog - obviously in another overlay. Hi everyone, I’ve noticed that the variable mode button in Figma’s UI is different when I open IBM’s Carbon Design System. See? It’s a swatch book instead of the hexagon. Why? What am I missing? Thanks!
