Hi, I would like to know if this is possible. In my company we have too many editors I would like to see if one editor is changing roles to another person. For example if Editor 3 is giving Edit Role to another user. is it possible to see this movements in this screen? Thanks for you help!

So we used to be able to reset the name of text layers (so that they automatically are naemd after their content) by simply deleting the name. Now Figma has removed the ability to do this. Has anyone found another way to reset the name, or are all my layers now ruined?

Hi all ! I am starting on Figma and would like to create Instagram posts. I have not found how (if possible) to animate a component (which would maybe create a video format?). For instance, I would like to add the “Search Input” component, and animate it so we would see the text typing in the seach bar. Could you please help me ? Thanks a lot for any feedbacks

When I’m adjusting an image’s exposure, contrast, etc., the “tab” and “arrow” buttons are no longer functional. This makes it difficult to fine-tune an image using only the mouse. Is this a bug? (I was able to do this in the past)

Hi, can anyone please help to tell me how can I add more icon into a component set? With other component set like just text or button or something that I can edit easily, I can duplicate one in a component set and edit it. But when I have a new icon it’s just something packed and cannot be edit , so I don’t know how to add that new icon into a component set. Thank you .

Been struggling with getting tooltips to show up on hover over an icon, inside of a scrolling list with autolayout. As you can see the tooltip shows behind the next item below. I can switch to “First on top” but all that does is reverse the issue (the tooltip shows behind the item above). How to get those tooltips to show up on top?? Hi, I am following the tutorial of Figma For Beginners: Explore Ideas (1/4) and also doing it at the same time. I followed the video and tried to duplicate ‘‘Mobile Wireframe UI Kits’’. But I couldn’t publish it to my draft, since I am the Starter plan currently. My question is how can I use the components from the Figma Community if I am using the Starter plan (Or does that mean I can not use the components from the Figma community if I am not paying)? Thank you!

I created two modes (Light and Dark) with semantic tokens in my library and applied them to all the components. According to the Figma documentation, the most left column of the Variables settings page is the default mode. https://help.figma.com/hc/en-us/articles/15343816063383-Modes-for-variables#h_01HMD3VBSV4SD76PH8BVZY8Z13 But in my library some components show light mode by default and some components show dark mode by default. How to solve the problem and make the all default mode as light?

When setting the variables for my library’s typography styles, I noticed that my text sizing variables were not showing up for ‘Line height’ even tho I had ‘Text content’ number scoping settings toggled on. I then realized they are only showing for ‘Line height’ if I have ‘Show in all supported properties’ selected. Is this because it’s planned to add semantic text content scoping in the near future? I would expect that all my variables that have ‘Text content’ toggled on will appear for Line height. It’s a small detail, but now I have all my text variables visible for properties in which I may not want them like effects, stroke and opacity.

If you use the auto layout function after aligning multiple items centered like in the image on the left, the display will be distorted as shown in the image on the right. Is there a way to use auto layout while keeping the display as in the image on the left?

Hi all, I’m hitting this strange / unexplained behavior where, the gradient definition is done as, blue color coming from bottom left corner, to pink on top right. In this screen you can see, in color picker the angle seems correct. However when I apply it to the Frame, it’s wrong, it’s going top left to bottom right, like it’s somehow “shifted” when applied to a frame, even though the stops and angle don’t seem to go in that direction. Is this a bug?

Hey team, As part of a design system, I am working on an image container component. Goal is for designers to update the image within the container and then, they can easily pick the ratio of the container they would like to use. The container has a 4px radius. Nevertheless, the radius disappear when I past an image within the container (opt. - cmd- C / opt. - cmd- V). Is there a way to keep the radius? Thank you!

I’ve been experiencing an issue with auto layout for the past two days. When I use Shift+A to auto-layout two objects, the horizontal width becomes vertical, and the vertical height becomes horizontal. Additionally, the alignment options don’t work logically: if I align an object to the left, it stays on the right, and if I align it to the bottom, it stays on the top. Interestingly, when I select the opposite alignment, it works. For example, if I align an object to the top, it correctly moves to the bottom. The same issue occurs with right and left alignment. Can someone please help me figure out whether this is a Figma glitch or if there’s a way to fix it?

Hi all, In short, I’ve shared the prototype and some people viewing it are reporting fonts are much bolder and even aligned incorrectly (left vs. centred) on elements using the same component. While everything displays fine for others. All in Chrome, on Mac. Due to NDA, I can’t screenshot this. As mentioned, they all use the same component. So there should be no differences other than the content - and there isn’t in my Figma file or when viewing the prototype. So makes no sense why it would be different for anyone else? At first I thought this was just down to caching but I’ve shared the prototype link with 3 people who haven’t viewed the project before. And 1 didn’t get the issue, the other 2 did. To add to the mystery, I asked a designer to go into the Figma file and they’re seeing the issue in the file. So in a grid of 5 products using the same component. Some text is bold and larger. What’s the most efficient way to search for a component? I want to first check the page, then if not found there check the file, and then if not there check if it exists in a team library. I’ve tried to use ChatGPT to help me, but the code it’s given me really slows down the plugin (and currently it’s only searching page and file - if I add team library as well, it’s gonna be painful!). Feels like this would be a common scenario for plugins, so wondering if anyone has any efficient or best practice code they’d be willing to share? Apologies if I’ve missed an obvious snippet from this site. Thanks in advance!

This topic was already mentioned in an older post, but the solution did not work for me and it seems like it also didn’t for another user. (the post: Getting warning “This interaction must swap from a variant to another variant within the same component set” - Not sure what it means I essentially have the same problem. However, I checked and the variants ARE within the same component. I even renamed the component on another page to avoid confusion, yet it still doesn’t work. This is incredibly urgent, please help me.

Hi, I’m very new to Figma. I created a loading animation using a tutorial and followed all the directions about creating variables within the component. I’m using delay - change to - smart animate. I made sure the instance is on the object and not the frame. I’ve built it several times and it will not animate in preview no matter what. I have successfully used animate with click through on a different project. Please let me know what i’ve done wrong. I can not connect the {line-height} property to a local variable {number} anymore. It shows the message “no variables available” All the existing styles with a line-height property in this file are connected to a variable, but if i want to change an existing one or create a new one - it shows this message Is this a bug? When i recreate in a new blanco file and just connect line-height to a variable it works.

Why is Figma running out of memory? I had 16 gig and Figma wrote that there was not enough memory. I added 16 more. Got 32 GB of computer RAM. And Figma writes “almost out of memory”. What can be wrong? Does Figma have limited memory by default, no matter how much RAM is installed on the computer? I am using the latest desktop program.

Im trying to animate a 0% blur image to 30% blur image, but the animation is not smooth, it just change to the last nano second of animation. Anyone experienced the same problem?
