We're encountering a challenge with accessing the context menu (right-click or control-click options) in the browser version of Figma on a Mac.

Specifics:

  • The context menu appears correctly in the Figma desktop app.
  • It also functions as expected in other web browsing scenarios.
  • However, when using Figma in a browser (e.g., Chrome, Safari), the context menu fails to appear.

Question:

Is this the intended behavior for the Figma browser version?
If not, are there any settings or adjustments we can make to enable the context menu in the browser?

This is capture screen of desktop Figma app.

Hi @design_ando, Thanks for the clear report and welcome to our community!

Right-Click:

I just tried this out on my Mac, and right-click works fine for me in both the desktop app and Chrome.

It seems like the issue you're experiencing might not be the intended behavior, as I didn't have to change any settings.

Ctrl+Click:

Could you please double-check this setting?

Click the Figma icon in the top left corner, then go to Preferences > “Ctrl+Click Opens Right Click Menus”.  Make sure it's checked!

If it's still not working after that, try clearing your browser's cache. Sometimes that helps!

Please let us know how it goes.

Hi @Junko3 , thank you for your support.
Your support helped me fix it.

Background

I usually use the desktop version.
However, when I used the browser version under specific conditions, I encountered an issue where the sub-menu was not displayed.

Solution

After checking the settings menu, I found that the display setting for the sub-menu was turned off. Turning this setting on resolved the issue.

Observation

I noticed that the display setting for this sub-menu is not synchronized (shared) between the desktop version and the browser version.

Request

I would like to request that this setting be shared across the desktop version, the browser version, or the entire account. Furthermore, it would be more user-friendly if the default setting was "on".

ありがとうございます👍
