After copying and pasting Connector line from FigJam into a Figma file, searching for “Connector line” in the layers panel does not return any results. When annotation text is added to the lines and searched, it matches as Text. What I want to do is to select Connector lines in bulk in Figma.

Hello everyone, I am using Figma’s REST API to integrate my software with Figma. I need to read and write the variables from a file. I’ve created an API key with read and write access to the variables, and I can read it, but whenever I try to write to it, I get the error: ‘403: Invalid account type’. What could be causing this error? I know it is probably permission that needs to be granted, but when requesting permission from the company where I work, what type of permission do I need to request from them? Or type of account do I need to have?

Hello 👋, I’m with an issue on prototype play these days, while I’m in play, interactions such as hover and click take a long time to happen, I have to wait for each screen, as if it were loading for about 2 to 3 minutes. I tried creating a file just for the prototype, thus reducing the amount of screens and scribbles, but it continues very slowly. Is anyone else going through this too? Any help on how to resolve it?

Unfortunately I have not found a solution. The following situation: I have a header box with a box-shadow. In this header box is a user avatar icon that opens a dropdown menu with further options for the user when clicked. This dropdown also has its OWN box shadow. But now the box-shadow is inherited from the header and the box-shadow of the dropdown looks horribly bad. How can I prevent this WITHOUT positioning the dropdown absolutely and placing it outside the header box? It seems to me to be a pretty standard case that there are dropdowns within boxes that also have a shadow. So I don’t understand why you can’t set this separately. In the example shown here you can see that the shadow is displayed correctly if the user icon is placed outside the header box. Which of course cannot be a solution. Thank you for your attention! 🙂

i am using Figma on my mac os 10.15 but if i update Figma it wont be able to run anymore so how do i stop Figma from updating

Hi, I am using variable modes and I connected each toggle switch with the respective variable mode(You can ignore SwitchEmail variable). Toggle buttons are working as expected. I have “disable all” button at top to disable all toggle button . So You can see I set interaction as setting variable to false. But issue is that it is not working as expected. What happens is when I click on disable all then only 1st toggle button disable. When I click again on “disable all” then all other three push toggle disabled. Also when I switch on 1st toggle then all other three push toggle also become true. Can someone please resolve this issue? What I am missing in interactions?

Recently, our educational center asked us to migrate our work from corporate accounts to our personal accounts while they carried out a series of maintenance tasks. I have tried to fill out the form to apply for the Figma education plan to use it for class assignments, but when I access the page, it automatically shows the page that it has been successfully completed. However, when I subsequently access Figma, I am still on the free plan. Additionally, when I try to create more than one mode in the variables, the plans window pops up. It seems like it is stuck in a loop and I can’t fix it.

Anyway, I try to ask this community to maybe find someone who succeed to do what I want to do 🙂 I want to have different scroll behaviours in different frames connected between them to make a table with the same functionality than « Freeze panes to lock rows and columns » like in Excel or Google Sheet. Hi. I tried to install Figma on a new pc. First time, c++ installer appeared. I installed it but then – nothing. Now, after double click on Figma instller, cmd appears for like 1-2 sec. Then dissapears and nothing happens anymore. For now i tried restarting the pc but it won’t help. Any ideas?

I’ve downloaded a new version of Inter from the website itself. For some reason, the one that appears in Figma is the old version from Google Fonts. I want to use the new version of Inter because the italics are better than the Google Fonts’ version. Here’s the comparison between the two (bottom is old, top is new): I tried following the guide for managing conflicting fonts, but it yields the same results. Is there a workaround for this?

Hello community, I’ve been experimenting with a conditional prototype and encountered an issue where my “else” statement is not being executed. I suspect I might be missing a step. Here’s my scenario: I have a checkbox component. When checked, the pricing should increase by $20, and when unchecked, the $20 should be deducted. Here are the steps I followed: Created a boolean variable for the checkbox. Created a number variable for the pricing. When I check the checkbox, the conditional prototype works as expected, and the pricing increases by $20. However, when I uncheck the checkbox, the “else” statement does not execute. Hi, Im struggling to get my component wiring up quite right whilst also firing an overlay, any help for the solution or workaround would be great. I have an input with 3 states, Default, hover and focus. Default > Hover = while hovering Hover > Focus = while pressiing Focus > = onClick (Open Overlay) Then in the prototype, im setting the onClick to open the overlay i want. When im doing this the hover is working and the on press is firing as I can see the added stroke but the click isn’t firing the overlay. It does work however if i set the state on the input to focus straight away. Seems to be getting into a mess when it is going from default to hover to onpress focus all together. Been pulling my hair out so any advice be amazing thanks! Hope supporting images help.

I have been using Figma for over a year but never ran into this problem. All of a sudden my plugins stopped working and I can’t use any plugin. It shows me that I can’t open this plugin in this file but even when I create a new file I can’t open any plugin. Please help.

When I try to publish an updated library, it stops responding when it reaches the infinite spinner with the ‘Publishing Library’ toast message. If I close the library, it shows that none of the updates were published. Same result on Mac app, web app, old UI, new UI. Please help!

Then I realized that I can also add libraries from my personal professional team account ––by selecting »Your teams«–– to a current or new file of the other team account. So I’m wondering if the other »Your teams« libraries are only visible for me? Or also visible for other editors?

Hi all! Is there a way to get color and text styles data from the REST API? I’m using the /v1/files/:key/nodes?ids=:ids endpoint, and the response on nodes > [node id] > styles returns all color and text styles but only metadata, nothing related to font family, font size, color etc. Is this expected? I know that I can get those styles if I look for an specific element that is assigned to those styles, but that won’t always be the case, for example, if I have 10 text styles but only 5 are being used on a file, I’d still want info from all of them. I also tried using /v1/styles/:key but for some reason it always returns 404, and by looking at the documentation, it also only returns metadata and not the actual styling information. On the Plugin API I can just use figma.getLocalPaintStyles() and figma.getLocalTextStyles(), so is there something similar to this on the REST API?

Hello, I happened to update Figma to the newest version but just found the previous built-in Figma basic design examples (see screenshot) were removed and replaced with iOS, Material UI, and a new Simple Design System. Is anyone able to find/provide the previous basic example files? I’ll appreciate it as I am building something based on that basic design…

How can I access the value of a variable font axis. I’m writing a plugin and trying to extract the font from a TextNode. It’s possible in Figma to set the font axes to a custom value for variable fonts(e.g. the weight of the font). When I do this in Figma the input for the font style changes from e.g. ‘Regular’ to ‘Weight: 357’. My approach to accessing this property was to read the fontName value of the text segment and then read its style property. But, and that’s the problem I’m currently facing, instead of giving me that value of ‘Weight: 357’ I just get the style ‘Regular’. After further testing I noted that the font weight gets rounded to the nearest style that has a text value. For example, 120 becomes ‘Thin’ and 170 becomes ‘Extra light’. This is a problem because I am unable to get the exact weight, only a rounded value. Is there something I missed? Another way of accessing the weight to get the exact value? Hi, I created some blog cards and wanted to use autolayout to make it so the text moves down accordingly when the title breaks into two lines or more. But there doesn’t seem to be a way to make that happen only through the text- I need to manually resize the frame around the title for the autolayout to detect it. Is there a workaround for this?

One of our clients is saying that she has trouble finding Figma prototypes that she has viewed before. Over time, her links get lost in the pile of emails or kanban-board cards, so she can’t go back and view the prototypes. Is there a way that she can do a search in Figma for past prototypes she has viewed? A few of them come up in her “Recently Viewed” section, but not many. (She’s using the browser version, not the app. And she hasn’t necessarily received invitations to all of these prototypes - many are just sharable links that she viewed.)
