Sorry if this is a stupid question. I am trying to avoid multiple layers.Why can’t I make a component with a text property and then have variants with different values in that property? What am I missing? Why do I have to create a master component and then wrap that in sub components?

Im trying to import my designs into Principle for mac, but for some reason it wont connect to Figma. It just hangs on “Getting documents” and then it says it couldn't reach Figma.It worked just fine earlier today. but suddenly stopped working this evening.Anybody else experiencing this?  

I recently filled the form about Figma EDU Plan, But looks like my high school isn't in the Figma School List. The error shows “ You must apply with your school email to continue.” Im already using my School e-mail to register figma and verify at figma education plan page. Also i already submit many times domain request to "High School Domain Requests for Figma EDU Plan". Still no response.  

 I’m hoping someone can clarify this for me. I used to copy objects from Adobe Illustrator with Cmd +C and paste them into Figma with Cmd +V, and they would arrive as editable vectors. I’m absolutely certain this worked before. Lately, though, every paste comes in as a flattened image instead of vectors. Nothing in my workflow has changed, so I’m starting to wonder if I’m losing my mind! Has Figma (or Illustrator) changed something recently? Is there a setting or workaround I’m missing? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hi,I have configured the Figma MCP setup in my VSCode and tried to get the annotations data for a figma screen. The screen has many annotated components and I did code connect for the components as well. No matter which ever prompt I try, I’m not getting the annotated values. The prompts run get_metadata and get_code of the MCP server but still I get no desired resultsSee the below figma screen  ScreenWhat should be the correct prompt or way I can extract all the annotations for the figma screen url and store it in a file?  

The mobile app is not working, so I cannot test my mobile prototypes via the app. Any news on this? Is it just me? This is the message i get  

I have lost access to my Gmail account, which was linked to my Figma account. Unfortunately this means I can no longer log in to Figma. I’ve created this new account to seek assistance.Could anyone guide me on how to change the email address associated with my Figma account so that I can regain access?

 I am extremely dissatisfied with the current situation and the lack of proper support.  Our entire company’s operations have come to a halt, and this issue is causing serious financial losses. Every second of delay is costing us more.I have an active annual plan that started on June 23, 2025, and runs until the end of June 2026, fully paid upfront. The payment receipt is available.Since last week, my **owner account** has been locked. Hi Figma Community! I'm currently having problems in dev mode.Usually when I change modes or view a variable in the code view in dev mode and click on the variable to see details, the value of the variable that I clicked will appear. Or when I try to change the mode, for example from Desktop to Mobile, the value will also follow the changes.For example the image below:But on the other hand there are variables that if I click and change the mode, the value does not appear or change, like this:I also noticed the first image variable came from the file itself, while the second image variable came from another file. But shouldn't the value stil

I’m trying to create a template for an app. I’ve spent a lot of time creating a clickable prototype with a bunch of different pages and I want to import it into Figma make and have all those page connections work in there. I tried doing this a few different ways and none of them work. There is also nothing I cna find on the web about this which is why I’m asking here.

After several attempts to verify my account on SheerID, I received a “We're unable to verify you using the information submitted. Please check your information for accuracy, and only use your own mobile device or computer.” error message.I’ve been emailing to SheerID and figma edu with no reply. I’ve had a very confusing week trying to connect components with my team. I’ve been connecting React components, another engineer has been connecting Compose components. I was getting accurate results from the MCP, the other engineer was always only getting HTML/CSS. When I tried a component he connected, I was getting correct Compose code returned. Everyone was confused. Until today… We realized that I was using an older version of the MCP and `get_code` tool, whereas he was using a newer version and `get_design_context` tool. I just connected to the remote MCP which no longer has `get_code` and only has `get_design_context`, and now I’m getting the same results. We’re wondering if there is a bug in `get_design_context`? Can we get the same functionality as the old `get_code`? Thanks!!!

My Educational plan expires in 2 weeks, but I won't have money to actually buy one until 4 weeks, or even more.What I wanna know is what happens after it expires? Do all my files just sit there the way I left them until I can buy a plan, or is everything deleted or changed somehow?Will I lose any files that are over the file limit for the free plan?I won't be doing any changes to the file, but I just gotta make sure they stay there until I get the money.Thanks

Hi, I’m unable to sign in to my Figma account. The issue is that the authentication code (for verification/login) is being sent to my old Gmail account, which has become inactive. I canceled my Figma subscription a month ago (Professional Full seats), right after subscribing, because I was sure I only needed pro for 1 month (I just needed to use dev mode for a small project). I was charged $15 for that last month, for the period Sep 17 – Oct 17, 2025. My account is currently showing as on the free Starter plan. Despite this, I was charged $5 for the Professional team subscription today, on Sept 17, 2025. I expected my cancellation to be processed correctly, yet I find myself facing an unexpected charge. I don’t even understand really what this $5 is for, since the pro seat was for $15 last month. Regardless, I do not require any figma pro service for this month, so this is just a waste of my money.Has anyone else encountered this issue? It's crucial to resolve this matter quickly. Hi everyone, here’s my situation:I have two Figma accounts, one on the Organization plan and one on the Professional plan, using different emails. I want to transfer (or copy) projects from the Organization account to the Professional account, including the Design System, and keep component links intact.However, when I use “Transfer” option under Settings from the Organization account, the Professional account doesn't receive any in-app notification. When I click “Review Request” from the email, it says “The transfer request you received has been cancelled by the team or organization that sent it. It's no longer available.” Even though no one canceled itAny idea why this happens or the best way to transfer projects to different account that keep all the components intact?

I am creating one application in React and using CSS3. We have designs prepared in Figma.
