Erase text blocks bug

There is a bug when you select a block of text and delete it. It takes the lenght of the block and apply it to new text. It is a very erratic behaviour. You can easily test it on your own in a text box.

I want to make sure I understand what happens after the selected text is deleted and new text is entered. You mentioned that Figma takes the length of the deleted block and applies it to the new text.

  • What specifically happens to the newly typed text? What do you see on the canvas?

  • Could you also share a short screen recording showing the behavior from start to finish?
