I got interested in Figma so I bought an e-course. I encountered a few problems that Im unable to get around. I tried googling and looking through forums but I didnt find an answer.So the teacher uses a slightly older version of Figma. After adding any type of element (a frame, text, etc.), there appears a "layer" tab on the right side. There isn't one on my end.Additionally, the "auto layout" isn't the same as in the lessons. In the lesson, there is advanced layout and it contains spacing modes, strokes, canvas stacking. In my case, these settings arent there.Could you help me out with finding them? Or have these features been deleted? AI chatbot told me a bunch of gibberish…Thanks for help!

Hello dear community,I hope for your input to solve this very particular problem which is giving me a headache since quiet a while. In my companies design system we utilize Modes to alter the font styles across all viewports. Everything is defined to be responsive, except the font-weight. The font weight is defined on a global scale on our primitive level.My companies Font is Helvetica Display Now. Which is running in OTF format on my Mac. When using this font in Figma a strange behavior happens:  When applying the correct font weight in the variable for regular as specified in the MDN documentaiton an extra bold font is outputted. To make it even more strange when I apply the string variable “Regular” this happens: The Font is rendered in the correct weight, but no token is applied in the font weight. I use Figma every day but I STILL don’t understand the correct/preferred way to do this. Say I have a component with 1 variant and 1 property (say “State=Open/Closed”). What I want is to create a new variant property that applies to BOTH of the existing variants (say “Size=Default/Small”) and automatically duplicates the components (to the RIGHT) and applies the new property. Is there a way to do this OTHER than resizing the set, manually creating the property, duplicating the components, and apply and setting the new property? Maybe as a plugin? I need to do this ALL the time. I’m aware that you can create all your variants FIRST and then do “Combine as variants” but that’s not what I need, because I don’t always know in advance all the variants I need.

I tried the unsubscribe link and it took me to a 404 page. I tried to use the “Contact Us” feature in Figma and it told me there was an error when I tried to send my message. I would like to get off this crazy train.

I’ve tried several of the remedies suggested in a previous post. But it seems like a compatibility issue between the desktop app and the updated display drivers.

I'm prototyping a horizontal product carousel in Figma using component variants. I want both the left and right chevron buttons to animate between visible states, but I'm seeing that advanced transitions (e.g., Slide in/out, Push) are only available for one direction (right chevron), not the other (left chevron).Has anyone else encountered this? Hi Figma,following use case:30 slides, 4 contain 720p videos, the rest 1080p images.Client receives the shared link, quickly skips through all slides. Client sees some unloaded image frames and pixelated images, fine, that’s expected. Client assumes the images and videos will load at some point, so he waits. The current slide finishes loading, okay. Client quickly skips back to previous slides, and here’s the issue: those slides are unloaded again, and Figma shows the lower-resolution versions again instead.So the client’s expectation that “the presentation is loading in the background” is actually not true, slides get unloaded as they navigate. In my opinion, that’s a usability problem when the natural expectation is that the deck preloads in the background

This just started today. After any prompt I make in apparently any existing Figma Make file I have, I’m getting a “something went wrong error”.After the prompt, the system does the work. But as it is working and describing what it is doing, after maybe 20 seconds, I get the error message.This happens both in the browser and in the desktop app.I’m using a Mac, and I’ve gone through the troubleshooting checklist.

Dear Support Team,I'm trying to update my verification for the Figma Education Plan, but without success. I keep getting several error messages saying that the information provided is invalid. My institution does not provide an institutional email, so I use my Gmail account. However, I have documents that prove my enrollment. After several attempts, I received a message saying that the submission limit has been exceeded, and now I can’t submit my request again.Thank you

I recently heard that Figma make is now free for edu plan users. I do have an edu account made specially for that but why isn’t Figma make not accessible to me still? I want to use it as a practicing product designer!

I created two new icons for my library and after publishing them to work on a prototype they are displaying with some unintended rendering issues. Some line objects of the icon have moved on top of others. I have attached screenshots of the intended icons and the buggy icons. I was able to fix this rendering by resetting the instance and resizing the instance to the intended size but I thought it might be a good bug to report anyway.and the published icon with issues.

Hello everyone. I'm having a recurring problem with certain types of components. I'm making a parent card component with a background image and content that becomes opaque on hover. In my instances, when I change the image, the hover image automatically returns to that of the parent component... I've since found an alternative using ratio components that allow you to load images and keep them on hover. But I find this method a bit cumbersome and probably obsolete. I was just wondering if a more recent solution was possible? Thanks for your help!

Hi, I’m a university student currently using Figma with my Google account (not my school email).Previously, I successfully verified my Education Plan using my school email address — even though my Figma login email was different. At that time, Figma allowed this setup.However, my verification recently expired. Now, when I try to reverify, it requires that the *logged-in account* itself be the school email address. When I press the Alt + R shortcut key in Figma, instead of adjusting or showing the anchor point, my PC displays FPS and other performance details. It seems like the shortcut is triggering a system-level command instead of a Figma function.Can anyone help me figure out how to fix or disable this so I can use the shortcut properly in Figma?  

The icons we used to use looked great in Figma and, when exported as svgs and then placed in the browser for inspection, their paths looked good and the quality of icon was also good (not blurry). I set a textbox to a font and then change the weight. It either won’t apply the new weight or will jump to the previous textbox. It’s crazy buggy. Never had Figma be so buggy.

Can someone explain how, in 2025, the leading UX/UI design platform still can’t provide a simple way to manage annual seats from within the app? The panel to control seats makes it ridiculously easy to add them, yet does an extremely poor job explaining how it actually works. The number you enter isn’t the total you want to confirm instead it’s treated as an addition on top of your existing seats. Conveniently there’s no mention to the logic at all. And once you realize the mistake, too late since now you’re locked out of any way to fix it. No edit, no removal, no self-service management. It honestly feels like the billing interface was designed to trap users into over-subscribing. For a company built around great UX, this experience is beyond disappointing. Despicable, really.

I keep getting a “403 - "{\"status\":403,\"err\":\"Invalid token\"}"” also via Postman when trying to send an HTTP request and use the REST API. Any solutions to this?  

Yesterday while creating my portfolio as a ux designer on figma sites, It suddenly started to show that it cant open my file as WebGL is not enabled, through reading a help article via figma i enabled the override software rendering list as guided by the article and alternatively enabled other WebGL options but still figma is showing the same thing. To avoid Google chrome, i downloaded figma aap but the app is crashing and not working as well, i don't understand what to do and am i pretty stressed as figma has lot of my work designs and projects, i am on my education plan as i am a student and a ui/ux designer.  I was also working on my portfolio for a long period of time, it was getting almost ready when this happened suddenly. I have been using figma for the past 1.2 years on the same laptop. I am very stressed and confused not knowing what to do, i hope to see your reply soon. 

I have received created using figma Ai, design I want to tweak few things, but it has only two views “preview and code”My question is can I edit the file design wise? or it can be modified through Ai cammands only?

Dear support Figma team.I have noticed that my draft file is missing. I know the name of the file and remember even the names of some pages inside, but I couldn’t find it at all. I have only one account and I have checked deleted files. It is not appearing anywhere. I definitely created in my drafts, and it has no teammates to delete it. Please help, how could I restore it or find it?
