Don't have the option Open Session availiable

Hello,

I don’t have the option Open Session i my Figma to invite guest to edit.

I’m currently attending a course in UX/UI desgin ang my classmate has the option in their Figma but I don’t have it in mine and we are using it in the same way as far as I’m aware.

I have a card sorting extercise I need to invite outsiders to perform whom don’t have or use Figma and even if all the settings is set to “anyone can edit” noone can, I’ve tried all possible solutions.

Mind you, I am a beginner in Figma so I have asked CGPT, Figma bot and my classmates for help but to no avail. Our teacher is currently under the weather and can’t assist.

Hey ​@Sofia Matsson, thanks for reaching out! I can see that you’re on the starter plan and the Open Session is only supported on Professional, Education, Organization, and Enterprise plans. If your classmates are on an Education plan, they’ll have access, while it won’t show the option on the Starter plan.

Anyone with can edit access in a FigJam file can start an open session. You can find more information in our Help Center article: Invite visitors to an open session

 

Since you’re enrolled in a UX/UI course, you may be eligible for the Education plan, which should give you access to Open Sessions. Check out our Help Center article for more info: Figma for Education
Once you’re on the Education plan, the Open Session option should appear automatically in FigJam.

Thank you for your reply.

Me and my classmates should all be on the same education plan, we all got access att the same time. 

I guess I have to talk to the administration on how to solve this.

Hey ​@Sofia Matsson, I was able to see that you’re on the starter plan. It’s also possible that the verified status was applied to a different Figma account. Please double-check  that you’re logged into the same account that you used during the verification process.

If you believe your Education status was applied to the wrong account, you can submit this form and our team will help out. Please note, the Figma team cannot move status from an account associated with educational email address to an account associated with a personal email address.
