Hi,normally, when you try to create a second variable with the same name (next to next), Figma returns this issue:Variable names must be unique within a collection But, if a variable doesn’t exist yet and will be created in the main and branch in parallel, and you then merge the branch, you have a duplicated variable.Since, Figma doesn’t normally allow doubled names, this looks like a bug.variable duplication with same name
The Layout Grid overlay disappears immediately after applying any rotation value (e.g., -90°) to a Frame
Hi Figma Support Team, I am writing to report an issue I am having with one of my Figma Make prototypes. When I try to run the prototype, it gets stuck on the skeleton screen and fails to load any of the content or the chat interface. Could you please assist me in resolving this issue? Thank you.
Hi there! Our filename syntax is generally [Feature name] - [Feature ID]. However, when the file name’ length is medium-long, it is trimmed (In Figma Desktop). I thought I could see the full name in the tab tooltip, but since Figma displays the cover instead, we cannot see the full name:One could argue that we could move the Feature ID at the beginning of the file name, but then we wouldn’t see the feature name, which is also really useful. Is there any way we could see the entire filename when we mouse over the tab?
Hey there Figma team.I enjoy working with variables, but my team and I are currently facing two annoying issues related to the variables panel.First one:When I open variables panel, then try to copy something from a text layer from my Figma canvas by using ctrl+c, and then I try to paste it somewhere outside of Figma (in gmail, in slack, in google docs, etc), the paste never works. I just paste whatever was in my clipboard before I copied that text. It looks like Figma doesn’t register ctrl+c action on a layer, as long as the variables panel stays opened. Second one:Normally, when I edit a text layer and hit ESC, it is registered as ‘confirm’ action. However, while variables panel is opened, hitting that ESC while editing a text on the canvas results in closing variables panel instead. It can be extremely annoying if I’m working on something simultaneously on canvas, and in variables. I hope both bugs can be addressed sooner then later :) Best,Figma enjoyer
When initailizing, the Figma local mcp server resopnse in serverInfo with things like:{ "protocolVersion": "2025-06-18", "capabilities": { "tools": { "listChanged": true }, "resources": { "listChanged": true, "subscribe": true }, "prompts": { "listChanged": true } }, "serverInfo": { "name": "Figma MCP Server", "version": "1.0.0" // ... "icons": { "src": "...", "sizes": "128x160" <======== look at here // ...The “sizes” return a string, which in the old draft version it should be string[], see here:https://modelcontextprotocol.io/specification/draft/schema#icon And this makes clients like codex don’t work, since codex depends on https://github.com/modelcontextprotocol/rust-sdk , which recently add support for this field
Its really urgent to me any help? I have enough money in the card and the card has not expired.
After last update, I cannot use Figma for desktop anymore :(It wasn't told it was going to happen, and now I am looking for a downgrade for an older version. Is it possible? How could I do that?Thank you!
My university email is blocked, and my Figma account is linked to it via Google SSO. I need to transfer my account and all files to my personal email without losing any files
Hi everyone :-)I’m trying to prototype a menu that stays fixed in the bottom-left corner while scrolling, but stops (or “sticks”) right before reaching the footer so it doesn’t overlap. In real code this would be a simple position: sticky with a stopping boundary, but I can’t find a clean way to reproduce this behavior in Figma. What’s the best way in Figma to simulate a sticky element that stops before overlapping another element (like a footer)?Any tips, alternative workflows, or plugins that could help? Thanks in advance xx
I need an information about expiration timeframes, as recently my token expired and functionality stopped working
The Figma Universe is a feature rich universe with many possibilities and does only work with architecture mindset. So for UX Designers for example, but they are complaining a lot anyway… There are so many learning curves and concepts which do not show any usability, obvious logic or intuitive workflow, if you do not take some lessons. I tried to find a summary, video or help documentation, which are there but have lose ends… So the figma dschungel is good for specialised Architects, but there are thousands of alternatives meanwhile, most of them are just small AI Apps which have solutions to certain parts of a workflow, like wireframing ect… The more easy way is Canva and the Affinity Suite, which is for free now...
Issue: When I try to tag @siva in a Figma file, two users show up in the list: One is the real member of the project and organization (me). The second one is not part of this project or organization, but still appears in the mention list. I want to remove or stop seeing the second user. Steps to Reproduce:Open Figma Web/Desktop App. Navigate to a specific Figma file within your project. Click the comment button. Type eg, @siva in the comment box. You’ll see two users show up in the list. One is part of the project. The other one is not. Expected Result:Only project or organization members should appear when I type @siva. Actual Result:Two user suggestions appear, but one of them is not even part of the team. Device & Environment Details:Device: MacBook M1, 2020 OS: macOS (or your OS) Browser or App: Chrome / Figma Desktop App Figma Version: Figma Desktop App version 125.5.6 Account Type: Professional Team User Role: Admin (mention your role in the project) Additional Notes:The seco
Hi! I have an issue with the Sora Medium font in one older Figma file. What happens Sora Medium is correctly installed on macOS. It works in all new Figma files. But in one specific older file, Sora Medium does not appear or text becomes non-editable. We work on a browser app Why I think this is a Figma bugI completely reset my environment (removed all Sora fonts, cleaned system folders, reset macOS font cache, reinstalled Figma Font Helper, cleaned its cache, rebooted, duplicated the file, ran “Cleanup file…” etc.).Despite this, Sora Medium works everywhere except in that one file.So the issue must be inside the file itself → likely corrupted font mapping, which happened to us once before and Figma support fixed it.What I needHelp with repairing the font mapping inside that file, if you have idea how we can fix it independently I will grateful for your support. Thanks!
When I open a slideshow in full screen mode and have my phone in horizontal orientation. The slideshow content does not fit to the device height, which is now the width of what it was before. This prevents me from showing my slideshow at the most optimal width and this is bad user experience. Can you help me fix that?
We have a design file with Desktop, Tablet, and Mobile devices, with the Tablet set as the Primary one. When creating a horizontal layout Frame with a few components in it, the Desktop/Mobile views do not get automatically updated with the same order of components as in the primary one. Nested properties (like a state of a child component) are not shown when selecting a component in the primary device. I have to select and deselect the `Always select matching layers` option to have the child property shown, and then I have to go to the non-primary components and “reset” the components so they take up the updated child property. When changing a child property in the primary device, the child component doesn’t resize correctly and reverts the child component’s dimensions to its original values. I have a square with rounded corners that was stretched to double its width, to make a rectangle, and when I change its elevated state, Figma shows it as if it’s back into a square. Note that in pr
Hi All, I just came back from holiday and logged into my Figma - shocked to find out that somehow all my recent files are gone! I have local saves of most of the projects, but there was one big draft with lots of combined smaller work + ideas that I saved in September, but not in October. When I login now all my ‘recents’ are from 2 years ago while I’ve been using the account constantly. Everything in the trash is also from 2 - 3 years ago - is there any way at all to get this back?? Has this happened to someone else?
Hi everyone,I’ve been working on a large-scale UI project in Figma, and as the design files grow, maintaining consistency across components, interactions, and design tokens is becoming more challenging. I’m hoping to gather insights from the community on how you keep everything organized and scalable—especially when multiple designers collaborate on the same system.A few points I’d love to discuss: How do you maintain consistent spacing, typography, and colour usage across multiple pages? What’s your strategy for managing reusable components and variants at scale? Do you rely on any auditing tools or plugins to detect inconsistencies? How do you manage version control for components to avoid accidental overrides? Tips for onboarding new designers into a large existing Figma workflow? UI pattern fundamentals Component maintenance tips Large project organization guide Looking forward to hearing your experiences, workflows, and any recommendations you have for keeping design
I'm working on gracefully handling 429 errors when fetching Figma files in our app. To import a Figma layout, users provide an X-FIGMA-TOKEN. Recently, the rate limits have been updated, and we need to provide more detailed information about the current user's limit. However, the response I receive from the endpoint does not include any of the headers described in the developer documentation. The response only contains the status code and a message.Am I missing something? How can I access the Retry-After, X-Figma-Rate-Limit-Type, and other headers described here: https://developers.figma.com/docs/rest-api/rate-limits/?I use the fetch method the request looks something like this: fetch(`https://api.figma.com/v1/files/${file}/nodes?ids=${node}&geometry=paths`, { headers: {'X-FIGMA-TOKEN': KEY, 'Content-Type': 'application/json'} }) This is the response I get: {status: 429, err: 'Rate limit exceeded'}The response headers are empty.
I know we can use https://mcp.figma.com/mcp in editors like (VS Code)Is it possible to add the MCP server to the GitHub coding agent, like….https://github.com/YOUR_USERNAME/YOUR_REPO/settings/copilot/coding_agent Settings → Copilot → Coding agent → MCP configurationExample:{ "mcpServers": { "figma": { "type": "http", "url": "https://mcp.figma.com/mcp", "tools": ["*"] } }}I tried that, the Copilot got problem with the auth… or how can we do?So my team can open an issue and use Figma urls as a reference in the GitHub issue. Not possible right?
Hi, I accidentally approve a collab seat and delete that member email right away. But the bill is already charged for next month payment for $4.91. Can I can cancel it? How?
I previously had a Figma account registered with my old company email address . Unfortunately, I no longer have access to that email since I’ve left the company. After the recent Figma update, the login process now requires an access code sent to the registered email. Because I can’t receive that code, I’m completely locked out of my Figma account. As a result, I’ve lost access to all my design files and projects, which are critical for my ongoing work. I urgently need access to these files or a way to transfer them to my new email address.Your help would be greatly appreciated this is very important for my work.
Hey! I’m getting a message once I open Figma saying “You can’t access this resource. Contact the owner, an admin, or support for assistance.” But it’s my account and I’m the only one on it?
Any tips on using Auto Layout to create responsive designs in Figma?
