Hi, this issue reproduces again, no xlsx files are working now. Even ones that does not contain photos.

It is just “Failed to import file” error with no clarification at all…

Just yesterday it worked and now this.. Perhaps latest update broke something?

Hi @Tom Reem,

the issue occurs for me with xlsx-Files with an image. The CSV file (without images) works but I need the images as well. It happens with an older file which I used recently, too.

Hi @Tom Reem this issue is still occurring for me as well! Did a test a few weeks ago and it was fine and i’ve now gathered all my data and bulk create keeps throwing the “failed to import” error message when i go to upload my xlsx doc.

I’ve also tried splitting data into smaller documents and still no luck

Hi @Kristen Campbell

For me the issue was that the XCel file I was trying to upload was set to Internal mode because of company policies, if you switch that to public it should solve that problem!

Was excited to try this fix but unfortunately still running into the same issue. Thanks for the suggestion!

I am running into this issue as well. My .xlsx file does not contain any images, but I do hope to try that feature as well soon. Has there been an update on this topic?

Hello! I have the same problem, has there been any updates on this topic yet? I’m trying to upload a .xlsx file with images and i get the error message but nothing else

Alexandre Assmann

Hi. I am experiencing the exact same problem. Tried many different ways of formatting the xlsx file, but always get the same error, through the app or online. Really needed to use it :/

Hi @GabrielaFLCH and @Alexandre Assmann most recently — and to everyone: Thanks for taking the time to report this. I’m sorry to hear this is error message has cropped back up.

It’s helpful to know this is happening across both the browser and the Figma Desktop App. I looked for other recent mentions and, so far, I’m only seeing this thread. I want to make sure we get enough detail in front of our engineers to investigate.

To help narrow things down a bit more, can you confirm the following:

  • Your setup meets the latest requirements for running Figma: Browsers and operating systems.
  • If you’re on the Figma Desktop App, ensure it’s version 126.0.4 or later.
  • Can you share more details on how you’ve formatted your spreadsheet, and the steps leading up to “Failed to import file” message?

If you’re still seeing the error, please also send us a bug report so the team can review your file and setup directly. To kick off that process, go to the Support Hub and follow these steps:

  1. Where it says “Tell us about your issue,” type: report a bug.
  2. Click Start a chat.
  3. Select Enter.
  4. Respond to the following question with: yes.
  5. Complete the form and be sure to include the URL of the Figma file where this is happening.
  6. Press Submit.

That will give them the environment and file details they need to dig in. If this is still blocking your work after you submit it, let me know here and I can help escalate.

Really appreciate you flagging this — and thanks for your patience while we get more eyes on it.

Hi! I’m using a Macbook pro 2020 and Figma 126.1.2, if it helps, and as of today, it keeps happening

Hey @GabrielaFLCH — thanks for coming back and for sharing those details, and I appreciate you taking the time to submit the bug report as well.

I can’t view file or account specifics here, but I can see that our Product Support team is actively reviewing your case (ticket number: 1753274). I’ve added the context you shared here so they have the full picture as they investigate.

They’ll follow up with you directly via the email tied to your account with next steps. In the meantime, we’ll keep an eye out for similar reports here in Figma Forum.

Thanks again for your patience and for helping us dig into this.
