If I click a link to open a Figma file, it opens in the Desktop App since I have selected the default setting “Open links in the app”. That seems to be working as intended. However, when I open a link to a prototype in presentation mode, it opens in the browser. There is NO option to open it in the desktop app - my browser doesn’t prompt me to do so, and I cant find any manual button in the Figma UI to do so. Is this a bug, am I missing something?

I have an onboarding component with an arrow at the bottom. The problem is when the component gets bigger when theres more copy added, the box gets larger from the center and the arrow gets hidden. Is there a way to have it resize by going upward? or have the arrow move down along with the bottom edge of the shape?

do plugins work for anyone else? it say ‘unavailable in view only’… for reference this is using a personal gmail account, and I do not have any issue in normal Figma

I initially named a variable as background/buttons/primary. Later, this was changed to Cta/primary/default. I updated the variable name throughout the design environment, and the old variable name is no longer present. However, the same component now shows a different variable name in design and development modes. When I changed the color to another value, the variable updated correctly. But when I used a variable with the same color value, it reverted to the old variable name, which no longer exists. Could you please help me resolve this issue? Dev mode: Design mode

Hey i am learning Figma and my control z is not working as well as i am unable to delte layers

For whatever reason, I have a client where one of the designs on the team is unable to use the text styles in the design system I’ve created. When they choose a style to apply, it just does nothing. If there was a style applied already by another designer, it just remains at that one. If there was no style to begin with, it just doesn’t get applied. Typography variables for font family and weight also appear crossed out (see attached). One other team member had this issue, and it was because they didn’t have the font installed, that was fixed by installing it. But this member does have the font installed, and yet they are still having issues. Any ideas?

Figma does not sync Windows 11 installed fonts Ask the community Can someone help me? Everytime I close a browser tab, all my newly installed fonts are gone. It’s the same when open in app. i have the exact same problem: with win11 the fonts are not syncing with Figma. after every reboot of the pc i have to reinstall all my fonts i’m using in Figma. then they are recognized again. this happens in the browser AND on the app. i tried to delete all of the fonts, reinstalling the Figma font service, trying without the font service just in the app… the problem persists. the font itself is not the problem because on windows10 and on mac i can use it without a problem.

Why my Auto layout’s panel is not the same as the picture

When i click on “Start from scratch” Figma creates a new draft using “Light slides” template. I tried to use another account and it worked, but only once, so now I can’t use blank slides from two accounts. How it can be fixed?

Hello all, Trying to find all comments on a page using the Rest API, but there does not seem to be any filter to find comments via page/canvas, but only for the entire file. I looked at the Rest API response to see if anything (maybe client_meta answers it) but not seeing anything reliable there. Is there a simple way to: Option 1: Given a page/canvas, find all comments on it? Option 2: Given a comment, find the page it belongs to? Currently, I’m going Option 2, by using client_meta, and finding the page that element belongs to, and then linking it to the page, but that seems to be calling too many APIs. Also, is there any structure to the Node IDs? Not able to find any documentation. The IDs are of the format xxx:yyy. Thanks!

So I have this prototype where I’m supposed to click on a radio button to change it from unselected to selected, I made the animation but if I click on a button to select it, the second one is shown as also selected on another frame. I guess that violet square is showing me where I’m using the exact same button but it’s the first time I’ve seen this. Can someone tell me why it’s this happening? The right thing would be to select one button on the first frame, and to select another button on the second frame and so one, they shouldn’t be already selected on every frame 😦

I am trying to create a table, but there seems to be an AI option attached to the parent frame that I can’t turn off. If I add another table row, it puts the new row above the first one. I checked the stacking order, but that doesn’t seem to do anything.

I’m building a demo of some on-hover nav menus and tooltips. I’m able to setup a few, but after 3 or 4, “while hovering” becomes disabled for new interactions. I’m at a loss to explain this.

I have a question: I have several components in the vertical auto layout. The very top component has a drop shadow. The issue is that it’s not respecting the order, and the shadow spreads blow all the components instead of on top. I am trying to simulate z index(es) with shadows.

My educational plan is expiring and I have since graduated. Prompt form Figma says to either upgrade to professional plan, verify educational status or since any teams will become disabled: retain view access to files by moving them to drafts. However it appears that there is no longer a drafts section outside of the separate teams- so if I have to move the files to drafts, I would have to move them to the drafts section of a team - but the teams are going to become disabled when the account is downgraded to started from educational plan! So where do I need to move the files in order to retain them for editing after my account is downgraded to starter pman from educational?

Hi, I know that Figma emitted events so that developers can listen to some of the event that Figma notifies, but how do I know if the prototype is presenting the last frame? Thank You!

Hello everyone, recently we have noticed strange behavior of interaction areas in some prototypes. For example, it happens more often that interaction areas of a button are no longer on the button itself after scrolling in the prototype, but are moved somewhere in the prototype. As a result, the prototype can logically no longer be used as the buttons are no longer clickable. In the attached image you can see the highlighted hotspot box of a button floating somewhere in the wrong place. Does anyone have similar problems and perhaps an idea or solution as to why?
