Figma Canvas Blacked Out & Collaboration Issue

santosh

Hello Figma Team,

I’m experiencing a critical issue with my Figma design files. Whenever I open any existing or new file, the canvas is completely blacked out, making it impossible to view any designs. However, the left sidebar, right sidebar, top left, and center toolbar are all visible.

Additionally, when I share the file link with others, my profile is not visible, and the collaborative mode does not appear to be active.

Please assist me in resolving this issue as soon as possible. Thankyou

Thanks for sharing the recording! Since the issue only happens on your main account, it might be something specific to your settings or cached data. Here are a few things you could try:

  1. Clear your cache and cookies – Sometimes, stored data causes weird issues. Try logging in through an incognito window, too.
  2. Test on a different browser or device – Just to rule out any browser-related problems.

Hi,

It sounds like you’re experiencing a rendering issue in Figma. Here are a few things you can try to fix it:

  1. Refresh or Restart – Try refreshing the page or restarting Figma (if using the desktop app).
  2. Check GPU Acceleration – Go to Figma Settings > Preferences and toggle "Use GPU Acceleration" on or off to see if it helps.
  3. Clear Cache – Clear your browser or app cache and restart Figma.
  4. Try a Different Browser or Device – If using Figma on a browser, try another one (Chrome, Firefox, Edge). If using the desktop app, check if the issue persists on the web version.
  5. Check Internet & VPN – Ensure you have a stable connection and disable any VPNs that might be interfering.
  6. Update or Reinstall – Make sure Figma is updated, or try reinstalling the desktop app.

If none of these work, I recommend reaching out to Figma Support for further assistance.

Hope this helps! Let us know if you find a solution.

Hello @esharib musawer Thank you for responding.

Here is a recoding video

I’ve recorded a video showing the issue. This error only appears on my main account—when I log in with another account, everything works fine. I'm really stressed and unsure what to do.

I also tried reaching out to Figma support, but they only assist users with a Pro plan.

Is there any other possible solution?

I’ve got great news! The team has identified the issue that was causing the problem everyone was experiencing and have released a fix for it.

Please refresh Figma to ensure that you are using the fixed version. If you continue to experience the issue, please let me know and I will flag it down for further investigation.
