Added the library, but it doesn’t show up, and no components are available for use

Red: I added this file to the library, and everything worked fine.
Blue: I added it the same way, but it’s not in the library list, and I can’t search for any components from this library. I tried removing and adding it again, but it still doesn’t work.

Does anyone know why?

Oh. Also are you using the desktop Figma app? Have you cleared your cache?

Hi @Thach_Tran, Thank you for reaching out about this. I appreciate you taking the time to troubleshoot.

Would you be willing to attempt one more troubleshooting step for us? Here are the instructions:

  1. Make a minor change to the Blue library file, such as editing the component’s description.
  2. Publish the library
  3. Accept the library update when prompted in your working file

If it doesn’t help, I suggest reaching out to our support team so they can investigate further at https://help.figma.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
When reaching out, please remember to include the following details:

  • Your Figma account email
  • The URLs of the affected file and the library file, add support-share@figma.com as an editor of those files(this will not affect your billing)

I appreciate your assistance and understanding.
If there are any other ideas or perspectives from our community, please feel free to contribute here.

Thanks again for reaching out.

This might be a stretch…but how long are you waiting before you hit publish?

Sometimes with a larger library, Figma has to compile a lil before it really has all the data to publish. If you click publish before it is done thinking…it sorta thinks it published when it did not.

I might try opening the assets panel in the blue library, and letting Figma kinda run for a sec to gather its thoughts.

Then publish it. Wait it out, then open your design file and update all pages.

Longshot maybe? But I know sometimes I have had a similar hiccup and slowing down a bit helped me.

🤞

That is awesome! Yeah sometimes it gets hung up. Glad it works!

Check for conflicts within the component properties as these will stop the components from publishing.

The easiest way to find this is to right click on a component or component group and select Main component > Publish selected components.

This will bring up the ‘Publish library’ model in which it lists any “invalid assets” and the reason why they are invalid. In this instance it is because some of the components in this component group have conflicting (the same) property value
