I’m wondering if there’s a reason why the only option for a TV device frame is 1280x720 when the standard for TV app design is 1920x1080 (at least for Apple’s tvOS). 📺 I found that this question was discussed here in 2022, but the thread has closed and 1280 remains the only TV device frame size. I created an entire prototype (screen recording linked below) at 1280 because I wanted to present it to the client within the slick-looking TV device frame, but now our dev team has to scale everything up 1.5x. For the most part this isn’t a big problem; it just creates one extra step in the workflow that shouldn’t really be necessary. So does anyone know why Figma’s only TV device frame option is 1280? Is there some reason why TV apps should be designed at this size rather than 1920? Thanks! drive.google.com
Hi! For some reason, the new color picker stopped working initially in one file, and then in all files. Specifically, the ability to select a color token is no longer available. Can you help me understand what I might be doing wrong? I’ve already tried reloading the file, restarting Figma, and switching between interface versions.
Material theme builder version 20, released in May 2024, is not operational. The plugin generates theme colours but does not update them in any project files other than the original kit project. This means that if you had any work using Material 3 kit, you are not able to update the theme since May 2024. It is not possible to do any theme-related M3 work with a custom theme since May 2024. Themes in any project that people had done in Material3 UI Kit cannot be updated anymore since May 2024. There is no other Material theme builder plugin. We are hostages of the situation. There are tens, if not hundreds, of reports on the M3 DK page and on the Theme Builder itself page where it has been ignored since early 2024. It appears that version 20 of the plugin was released untested, and the development team was immediately reassigned or disbanded. Nobody from the Material team reads bug reports; nobody responds. So this is just something I hit my head on all the time. I have some components which are meant to hold a list of instances of another component. The solution I always use is to create like 20 instances inside and then hide all the ones I don’t need for a given design. Many of these designs contain far fewer than 20, but other designs can get close to that number. It just depends. Having all this unused junk in my layers is just irksome. A related problem is that the interior elements cannot be reordered without a lot of work. Ideally, it should be possible to create a component, which can have an arbitrary number of a particular instance (like "list row"s in a “list”) and those instances would be reorderable and removable in the layers panel. It seems like this should be doable with a special component property applied to the embedded instance that I want to have arbitrarily many, freely reorderable copies of. Other posts make a similar request, but I wanted to add my own to emphasize
I’m sure I’m overlooking something obvious, but I can’t find the panel control that will add boolean properties to a component. I commonly added boolean controls to Figma components. But maybe the Figma UI has updated recently and now I can’t find the design panel option that will allow the control addition for a component. When I select the sublayer within the component, I can’t find where I can now associate that layer with a boolean off/on appearance. I hunt through the design panel and can’t see it. Trust me I’ve searched for a plugin that does what I want to do - I simply cannot find one Which leads me to ask **Would it be possible to add a section / feature in the “Design” side menu similar to the “Selection Colors” section that pops up when selecting multiple frames or elements on a given page?.. ** Why? As of right now, we’re in the process of determining text style equivalencies for our web app that would need to use different text sizes as breakpoints increase. In the early process of creating our design system for this new project, it would be great to see, at a glance, all the text styles currently in use for one breakpoint to see if there are consolidations we can do prior to exploring the text style scaling or equivalencies for larger UI.
When using the Inline Device Frame for the iPhone, the notch is included which is great BUT… Slides doesn’t seem to adjust the content of the design to fall below the notch, whereas it would if it were actually being used/viewed on the device. In the included screenshot I’ve manually extended the height of the first container to move it below the notch. Am I missing some way to make this happen automatically?
The system said "Get an app to open this ‘desktop-shell-app’ link. Your pc doesn’t have an app that can open this link. Try looking for a compatible app in the Microsoft store. I already try to restart my pc and reinstall the app, but the problem is still remaining.
Hello, I am building a wordpress plugin to convert figma designs to wordpress template e.g divi, elementor and wordpress block editor. I am almost done with the basic setup, fetching data and creating layout works perfectly fine, now i need your feedback on how you want to use the images and other features, any feedback is highly appreciated.
Who else is trying to find where the corner radius is in Figma Slides? The problem is sometimes it’s there, but sometimes not… 😰
Hello! As mentioned earlier in posts such as Prototype - Interactions - Event listener & ElseIF conditional, it would be really useful to have interactions trigger from variable changes. Right now, you can already accomplish these by combining conditional statements with the “After delay” interaction, but it is extremely tedious to maintain and demands a lot of janky component work (see example of implementation in video). Simply having “Listen for change in variable X” as an interaction would be a really powerful tool to create reusable components for advanced prototypes.
“Driven” variables for advanced prototyping Currently, when you link a variable to a UI property or component property (like the width of a frame), updating the variable in the variable panel automatically changes the property. In this setup, the variable controls the property. But what if the user could opt to reverse this relationship? Instead of the variable controlling the property, the property controls the variable. To enable this, we could introduce the concept of “driven” variables. A “driven” variable would update its value whenever the linked property changes. For example, if the width of a frame is linked to a driven variable, resizing the frame both editing AND prototyping mode would update the variable with the new width. Use Cases: Resizable objects in Prototyping Mode: With driven variables, properties like the width of a frame could become user-adjustable in prototypes, and the new size would automatically update the variable. Hi All, Sorry if you guys have been around this one before but, does anyone know a Figma course that would suit a user who uses Figma but who lacks in-depth knowledge? As a Head of Design I jump in and out and express ideas using Figma, but it’s my team who are immersed in it everyday and I’d like to focus myself and improve my skills so that I can be far more hands on - for when we get work peaks. I’m hoping for a course from a recognised academy, not a scattering of YouTube content. I’d like a course that brushes up on the basics and then takes me through more in-depth use. Any ideas most welcome, thank you.
Hi, I’ve encountered a bug in Figma on the browser where I am unable to edit any existing text in my project. The only option available is to delete the text, as I can’t type a single character. I can create a new text box, but once it’s added to an existing frame, I can’t type anything. I am using Opera as my main browser. What I’ve tried: Switching accounts Changing projects Switching browsers Is this a new issue? How can I resolve it?
I tried to use function change to in the component but it’s not available. What did I do wrong?
I was searching for my saved plugins in the new interface, but I noticed they are not listed. Even after selecting the “All” option in the top-right menu, only 25 plugins are displayed. Some of my saved plugins seem to be missing. I had to switch back to the old interface to view all the plugins I had saved in the past. I would like to ask if there is a way to display all the saved plugins in the new interface. I appreciate any help on this matter, and I hope my issue can be resolved. Thank you in advance!
Здравствуйте, может кто знает или сталкивался с подобным: не прогружаются картинки при загрузке ссылки на прототип фигма, что сделать, чтобы все картинки прогружались. До сегодняшнего момента бывало одна или две не прогружались, а сейчас все не грузятся.
Может кто сталкивался с таким или знает, подскажите, при скидывании ссылки на прототип в фигма отсутствуют изображения. Раньше хоть одна - две не прогружались, а сейчас ничего не прогружает, что это может быть?

I’m sending you this ticket because since the last update of Figma, I can’t use the desktop application on my macOS with Mojave operating system, and I don’t want to update it to the next version. Since I’ve been paying my subscription for years, I believe I have the right to have a desktop version of Figma that I can use from my work computer. Hi all, As part of the ISO27001 process, a section in the audit requires us to provide RTO and RPO times for our software that we use daily. I can’t seem to find this information about those times for Figma. Does anyone here know the timings for these? Thanks!
The absent ability to add a master slide, page numeration and even components inside Figma Slides is a reason why my clients could refuse to make a transit from power point to Figma slides. And it is upsetting.
