As you can see I’ve pasted an absolute frame with fill color a gradient, in order to create a faded effect for a marquee. Although this renders well on the canvas and preview, once published this is what it shows:   This automatically resets to the correct position if I resize my browser window.Thanks for your help!

When holding the “Z” key down on the Mac app and dragging to select my zoom window, the Zoom tool intermittently drags the layer(s underneath. It does not Zoom into it.

Hey all, I’m having a particularly annoying issue when dealing with overrides on instances. I have a few basic components that make up the entirety of a navigation component. All of the names are the same between each component, object, nested components, etc. so overrides should be retained. Nav Item Nav List Group Nav List Sections Each of these use that first Nav Item component to make it. They all have the same exposed props/overrides and as far as I can tell, as I built these components fresh after my previous build showed the same issues, all layer names are identical between nested instances and thus should retain overrides. When using these to make my Left Nav component, the instances in the left nav component group shows all the overrides made in the properties panel. As you can see here: However, when I make an instance of that left nav component, those property overrides no longer are retained in the properties panel despite still showing the override content visually.

I’m trying to update some files. Apparently the old tags aren’t getting recognized? Two weeks ago it worked. Did Figma break some things regarding the big updates? Aren't you writing test? ;P Or am I doing something wrong here?  

HiHi,The new layer preview thumbnails are not helpful. They waste space and make it harder to identify layer types at a glance. Please keep the clear indicators (frame, auto layout, shape, image) — those are useful. Right now, it’s harder to navigate, and it slows down my workflow. Feels like an A/B test — but this version really hurts usability. Thanks.

Hello, I’ve got a component set that I want to assign a boolean to, for the visibility of the word “Owner.” I successfully assigned it for every variant except the one called “Open.”The options to hide the layer and to apply variable/property are grayed out, only for this text layer. It also prevented me from assigning the boolean for the entire component set. I can still change the visibility of the layer from the left panel.  I found a workaround by pasting “Owner” from a different variant, but can anyone explain why this is happening?  Here is the figma link: https://www.figma.com/design/cMcWnX5NQECJ5vcNzWoKRk/test?node-id=1-101&t=0VnqJiQ7GCU6ANYi-1

getting a "Too many images" (>50) error when transferring Figma designs to Webflow

When I use an instance of a component in another component, to enable its settings in the right menu, I add display properties of the component instance. At this point, the settings group is named the same as the layer in the layers list. If I rename the layer, I will see in the right menu that the name of the property group has changed in the right menu. It works well as long as I'm inside the same file.If I publish a component with such a renamed layer, then the first time I install it, I will see the correct display of the layer name. But as soon as I change the option in the child instance of the component, and then update the child component's wizard, the layer name resets to the initial one. This is only noticeable if the component instance has been modified. If we reset all the overlays, we will see the correct layer name again. Video on Google Drive

Ive put in multiple requests for help @ https://help.figma.com/hc/en-us/requests/new but ive not heard anything back. im worried that if any of our staff log out and log back in using SSO they will lose their work. Please help. It would be great if you guys had some automated help like intercomm or even a way to see the status of a ticket that was in process. thanks.The main problem is after I changed our domain in gsuite. I logged out and back in via SSO and my work was gone. So I don’t know how to change the domain in figma so folks also don’t lose their work.

Hello,I have a team member who is not able to interact on open sessions. This happens often and sometimes we are able to troubleshoot i.e open session on incognito. however, most of the time she is still unable to interact with the board. We also have send her multiple “can edit” invitations but when she accepts them is says she can only view. on my end I see her with editing capacity and don’t know what else to do. her name is [personal information redacted].How can i resolve this recurring issue? In relation to the new vector editing functionality - it’s quite difficult to colour different sections of the same vector in. I’ve used a grid with cells to explain.So, for example, I want to colour in some of the grid’s cells. To do so, I first have to use the ‘Paint’ tool to clear the fill of each cell, and then reuse the ‘Paint’ tool to refill each cell. Only then will it let me select the specific cells individually.It’s frustrating that I can’t select the individual cells from the get go. Surely it should recognise each of these separate cells (each have an intact boundary) without having to use the Paint tool to trigger this recognition. Example grid with cells 

Sometimes when I switch from Design mode to Draw mode, the elements in Draw mode appear incorrectly—all the elements turn white and only become visible when I hover my cursor over them.Just like this pic.

When you override even one small visual detail (like a fill color or shadow), Figma locks that style, and future changes to that property in the master component won’t reflect unless you reset it.So i made 200+ page design now what can do? din’t have time to go to the every component and reset that sand re write the text and all.I've created a design with over 200 pages, but now I'm unsure how to proceed. I don’t have the time to go into every component, reset each one, and rewrite the text and other overrides manually.This is a very big issue — it's extremely frustrating for me. Please resolve this or suggest a better way to manage updates without losing custom content.

The figma mirror feature is not working after the latest Figma releases. I deleted the app and downloaded it again, desktop Figma and mobile app are both up to date.I am using iPhone 15pro (iOs 18.4.1) and a Macbook air with M1 chip (Ventura 13.1.5)The mirroring only stopped when the new features were launched this week. Is anyone else having a similar issue and has found a way to resolve it? edit: i figured it out. Figma was automatically in the new “drawing” mode, hence nothing was mirrored.

I added Tech Team ([redacted by forum admin/moderator to remove PII]) as collaborator which was in free plan. But in the next month, automatically Tech Team account was upgraded to professional plan without the approval from [redacted by forum admin/moderator to remove PII]. And Tech Team did not request full seat yet it was automatically send full seat request and upgraded without any consent from Tech Team ([redacted by forum admin/moderator to remove PII]) or Janagan ([redacted by forum admin/moderator to remove PII]). I did not explicitly approve the prorated seat from Janagan([redacted by forum admin/moderator to remove PII]). 

Hi there! I have a Figma account associated with my ex-work email ID. I had access to it until a few days ago, but now when I try to log in it’s asking me to input an authentication code that is being sent to the email ID - which is no longer active since I no longer work with the company.I have 3 years worth of work stuff in there and would really like to regain access to my work. Is there a way to manually switch out email IDs associated with the Figma account so I can have access?Any leads would be appreciated. Thank you!

Yesterday I’ve made changes to the design in Figma. My other designer didn’t refresh the local file, and when she got back to the project today, she basically worked on her yesterday version of the project. This way she deleted all the changes that I’ve been implementing for a few hours. This shouldn’t happen. You should have some scripts to check if there’s a new version of the design, when somebody gets back to the project that is shared between many people.
