I'm losing access to the Typography Variables palette for setting font weight — this issue is happening with my premium account.
But strangely, I still have access to this feature on my free account.

I’m not sure why?

This is definitely odd. I just tested this on my end in the desktop app and in browser, and things seems to be working as expected.

Are you still having issues seeing the Variable tab in your Type Settings?
If so, are you accessing each account of your accounts using the same computer, app, or web browser? Is this happening in all files or only specific files?

With a few more details, we can work together to figure out why this is happening.

I’m still facing the problem in my premium account across different files. For the account, I use one account for both free space and paid space.

In my free space, all my projects display the variables correctly and everything works fine

We may have to take a look on the backend at your team permissions, since you seem to only have access from your Starter team but not from a paid team. 

Be sure to use your Figma account email, include these screenshots, link(s) to the relevant file(s), and add edit access to support-share@figma.com.

I actually ran into a very similar issue with premium access features not syncing properly between workspaces. In my case, the Typography Variables and font weight controls weren’t visible in my paid team space, even though they worked fine in the free one.

It turned out to be a permissions sync issue on the backend — the Figma support team had to manually refresh my paid team’s feature set. Once they did, the Variables palette reappeared immediately.

I’d recommend following @djvFigmate’s advice and submitting a request through the Figma Support form. Be sure to include your workspace name and a short screen recording; that helped them resolve mine faster.

Hope this helps — it’s frustrating when premium features don’t carry over, but the support team is usually quick once they check the team configuration.
