Hi, All my projects are gone, I dont have access to them anymore. They were really important to me and now i cant seem to find them. Please help me recover them. The trash is also empty. There are no deleted projects.It is very weird. All i get is this. message. Please help. 

Hi!I believe Figma has been updated and now every time I go to download my Figma slides as a PPTX, when I open the document the file needs to be repaired. I also need to update all the fonts in my old decks as after updating it has made the formats of all of them incorrect.

I've been trying the new Figma AI Agent, but I can't figure out how to undo the changes it makes.Regular Ctrl+Z / Cmd+Z doesn't seem to work for the AI-generated edits. Is there an undo/history specifically for AI Agent actions? How can I selectively revert some of the changes while keeping the rest? What's the recommended workflow if the agent makes a mix of good and bad edits? Would love to know how others are handling this.

When I edit an image using “Edit with prompt,” the first version looks fine. But when I keep making updates to the image, the quality gets worse and worse. It’s like saving a JPEG repeatedly, where the compression degrades the image each time. After only about three changes, the image has become unusable due to the heavy compression.

Hello.I have a setup where there’s a file that acts as a library carrying main components and a couple of design files for different platforms that calls these components from the main library file.However. after some time (During which I haven’t worked on any of the files or the main library) I opened the files and found out that the majority of components and instance swaps in my design files had reset to their main states. some of them have nested variants from other components within themnothing triggered this as the files and the library were left unopened for about a month. So I wasn’t working on the project or in other words it’s not a library update that triggered this, it happened on it's own.for more details about the components in my mobile app design I had a Title bar with a varying number of icons between different pages (notification & side menu & message icons) some pages had only 1 of them.. some pages had 2..etc.This was setup from the main component where I ha

Hi, I am not able to find Variables in my properties panel on the right in Figma. What changed?  

Yesterday, I had a great time experimenting with Figma motion. I made a neat motion poster, but whenever I try to export it as an MP4, a new tab opens and consistently stops loading at 10% with an "Operation is not supported" error. The same issue occurs when exporting to WebM, although GIFs export successfully. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? Are there any solutions? What mistakes am I making?

Why has my Figma desktop app suddenly stopped working over the past week? I opened the app one morning and to my surprise, the files kept on loading and loading. Even Figma home doesn’t load. Not a single file is loading and once I shift to Figma home, I am unable to shift back to my files. Attaching screenshots for reference. It works on the browser but the app isn’t functioning at all. The new feature to create plugins directly in figma is great, but I want to share these plugins/tools with my team but can’t find a way to do it. Plus, searching for it only leads me to the standard flow to publish plugins, which does not work for in-figma built tools. So, how can I publish a figma made tool with Organization?

So in radian os there are 18 colors, it is a global design system, but if we had to make a variant for each color, lets say, for Front icon, flag, dot indicator, avatar, trail icon, cross, and so and so..there would be, 18colors * 3 sizes * 4 variants * 6 different badges = 1296 badgesI’ve seen in the figma keynote, that pulling just one instance will also pull all other in the component set, so should i make 1296 badges?or do the way i just did here, 3 bases, with each colored icons, avatars and more (the icon library & avatar library are all ready)does it also pull, the main components * base component ?(and i know the picture doesn’t show country flag, but it will be there in future)

Just been playing around with the new Motion feature and it looks pretty good for a beta - however I can’t quite understand how to use Motion for animating states on a component ie. hovers etc.I want an arrow on a button to move when I hover over the button. This currently doesn’t seem possible without using the old school prototype function instead. I would like to use Motion rather so that my developers can export out the relevant motion properties.  If I put the animation on the default component variant then the animation plays regardless.. If I put it on the hover variant then it’s all jumpy due to the prototype tool trying to animate it as well ¯\_(ツ)_/¯  Help?  

Hello! there’s one thing I really like using in AfterEffects and other that is Shape Morphing - being able to animate a shape changing into a completely different form by changing it’s vector points. Since I really like Figma, not having to use After Effects is such a game changer. Is there any news or future plans to implement this feature? Thank you!

I am writing to express my strong frustration regarding a major usability issue in the current version of Figma. In Dark Mode, ruler-based guides are rendered in a light, desaturated color. When working on white or light-colored frames, these guides become nearly invisible, making precise alignment impossible. Unlike Layout Grids, there is no option to customize the color or opacity of ruler-based guides. This lack of contrast is a significant accessibility failure that negatively impacts design productivity and precision. Telling users to "switch to Layout Grids" is not a solution, as ruler guides serve a completely different purpose for ad-hoc alignment and quick measurements.Please provide a way to customize the color of ruler guides (e.g., via preferences or individual frame settings) to ensure they are visible regardless of the interface theme or the color of the frame being worked on.

Hi — I'm on a Student/Education plan (Full seat) and I'm hitting a rate limit on the Figma MCP server (Dev Mode plugin API) where figma.loadFontAsync() calls hang indefinitely and never resolve, even after fully quitting and restarting the Figma desktop app. Sync operations (creating shapes, no font loading) still work fine, so this is specific to the MCP tool-call quota, not a general outage.Your rate-limits documentation (developers.figma.com/docs/figma-mcp-server/rate-limits-access/) lists quotas for Starter (6 calls/month), Organization Full/Dev seats (200 calls/day), and Enterprise (600 calls/day) — but doesn't mention Education/Student plans at all.Could you tell me:What MCP tool-call quota applies to a Student plan Full seat? So, in principle, if an instance is inside of another component, changing the variant causes the text to reset back to the text of the master component. This also happens with other properties of the instance, e.g. if you set some booleans up they will be reset to how they were set in the master component once the variant is changed via variable. Hello,I’m a designer, I don’t need AI doing my work and nagging me constantly in the interface. It doesn’t work, it’s useless and I don’t want it.It’s relentlessly pushed in the interface at each update, more and more aggressively (i just had to disable AI agent on the canvas for being bale to work) .I don’t want any of these “features”.What can I do?Note: I already disabled the AI training.

I want to request a review of AI credits used during repeated troubleshooting on my project. I ran into the same tab navigation issue multiple times, and each time I was given several different “fixed” responses that did not resolve the problem. In these attempts, the assistant repeatedly identified different causes, said the issue was corrected, and had me retry, but the tabs still did not work. The working solution only came after I said I was frustrated and felt my credits were being wasted, at which point the assistant switched to the simplest direct onclick approach and it finally worked. This was not isolated to one incident; the same pattern happened multiple times where adding to the database broke other functionality and led to extended back-and-forth troubleshooting that consumed additional credits.

Hi everyone,I’m running into an issue with the new Figma UI released around July 2026.In the desktop app / new UI, I’m trying to link a layer’s visibility to a Boolean component property inside a component, the same way we used to do before.The problem is that when I select the layer and go to Appearance, I don’t see any option to bind the visibility to a component property anymore.The only option I get is “Apply variable…”, which lets me link the visibility to a document variable, but not to a component property.I created the Boolean property on the parent component correctly, and I tested different cases: selecting a layer, a group, a nested instance, etc. Nothing appears in the new UI.However, when I switched to the web version, which still seems to use the old UI, I was able to do it without any issue.So my question is:Has anyone found where this option moved in the new UI?
