in theory, Slots promise to solve the age-old problem having 10 hidden layers in your list component.I make a ❖list component wiht a slot that only accepts ❖list-item as children. Let’s say i am using this for a context menu. I now configure context menu with the options it should have. I make the context menu into a component, to lock in the content. The contents of the menu should be the same in every user flow where it is shown. While making my user flows, I set one of the ❖list-items to the hover state, to show the interaction. This causes the entire Slot to be marked as “modified”, and it will now stop receiving any updates from the ❖context-menu. If I decide to add a delete button to my menu, it will not show up in that instance. This runs contrary to the expected behavior when using components. If I had used Instance Swap instead of Slot, the state-change override would have been recognised, and any other changes would have continued to propagate. Instead, the Slot effectively
I’ve got components with slots in it and componetized for design file efficiency. Instances work great at first, updates to the main component cascade as expected. But the moment I edit the content inside a slot on an instance, the entire instance disconnects from the main component. Not just the slot. So any future updates from the main component stop cascading to that instance, and the only fix is a full reset which removes the slot content I just customized. Expected behavior I would expect that the modifying slot content is treated like any other override (e.g. text or swap overrides). It should not disconnect the entire instance from the main component updates.Is this a known limitation? I would love to hear if there is a workaround or if this is planned for improvement!
I’m working on a page on Figma Sites, and one of the pages does not want to load into preview mode. The loading screen stops at +/- 99% and doesn’t budge. My memory usage shows 7%, all the other pages load without issue. It seemed to me it might be a problem with a number of components used on the page, since it is quite heavy, especially that it contains variable use, but the memory is close to empty. The page preview loaded before when I had about 1/3 elements applied on it, although it failed to correctly show all of the formatting (like the correct gradual blur on an image, some outlines, correct fonts etc.). I tried:restarting the web page restarting the browser restarting the pc using the app instead of a browser using different browsers duplicating the file copying only the page into a new file changing devices EDIT: I am willing to share a link to the file, although obviously not on the forum
I’m trying to create a Make Kit - starting with our existing libraries from our design system. They are all published in Figma, but only a subset of the libraries are showing up in list when trying to add to the Make Kit. Anyone else running into this problem? Am I missing something? I have doublechecked that the libraries are all published. What else could be the cause?
I recently upgraded my plan and have been reorganizing our workspace by moving existing pages into separate files and projects for better team organization.Since doing that, I’ve been getting this error whenever I try to create a new file:“XHR for ‘/api/files/create’ failed with status 429.”It has been happening for over a day now, and I’m unable to create new files, including drafts. I understand 429 usually means rate limiting, but this seems to be blocking normal file creation even after waiting.I’ve already tried refreshing, logging out and back in, using another browser/incognito, and checking my connection. I need this to be escalated to the Technical Quality team ASAP.

We're migrating our design system to Slots, and, like most designers, we're using slot placeholders and instance swaps as a workaround. As a result, we now have multiple components with placeholders that have been replaced by local instances containing content.When we wrap or convert component frames to slots, the override resets.BUT this is dependent on the account. In my work account, it is resetting the swapped instance. However, when my colleagues apply the same wrap to the same component, the resetting does not occur. I also tried in another private account, and resetting also does not occur.See the video attached.Is it a slow rollout of the update to Slots or is it a bug?
I need help with a billing issue. I was previously an admin on the team Tatia & Faith, but I no longer have access and I am still being charged for 1 Professional Full seat (monthly) on invoice [redacted by moderator to remove personal information] dated June 22, 2026. My open ticket is 2000557. I need help stopping future charges tied to this team.
Reproduction: Created a dropdown component defined slot areas for dropdown menu ‘the rows’ created a seperate singular component and named it ‘_row’ (so it wouldn’t get published) defined ‘_row’ as the preferred value forr the slot area but when dropdown component published, and pulled into another figma file ‘_row’ doesn’t show up as it’s not a published component. Opinion, if a unpublished component have been defined as a preferred value, it should be available to be picked. I basically do not want to expose a building block to the other designers because it’s never going to be used anywhere else apart from the dropdown window. I use the slot feature in a footer component where I can insert buttons. I have a frame where I use this component and have already filled it with two buttons. I wanted to use the same footer with these two buttons in other similar frames. So I copied the footer component with the two buttons inside the slot, selected the frames, and pasted. Somehow all the footers I pasted are now mirrored. If i change the text in a button it changes in all of them. If I change button order it changes in all of them. If I add something new into the slot it adds to all of them.I don’t want them to be connected, I just wanted to be efficient in my work by pasting in all frames at once. I can’t find a way to separate them without reseting the instance and loosing the content. It is only the content in the slot that is mirrored, not the whole component.Is this a feature or a bug?

Hi to the community and Figma team,I just received my billing plan, including the renewal of my annual one.But I just notice the annual seat plan isn’t on my name/account.I have 2 collabs seats that renew on monthly basis, and me (the owner of the boards that share with the collaborators).I looked at my dashboard of people and the billing cycle is mixed and not like how it used to be.For info - I took the annual cycle for my account since july 2023 (didn’t have any collaborators at this time) and it still should have been on me as I am the one paying for myself first, and the collaborators on monthly basis.Is there a way to correct/swap these - as I am the one needing to work annually on Figma ?

I recently subscribed to the Figma Professional plan, primarily to use Figma Make AI. As part of my subscription, I received 3,000 AI credits.However, I am extremely confused and disappointed by how quickly these credits are being consumed.Here is what happened: I created only 6 design pages using Figma Make. Those 6 pages consumed all 3,000 AI credits that came with my Professional subscription. Assuming I may have simply run out of credits, I purchased an additional 1,000 AI credits.
