Figma recently rolled out new updates; however, I have noticed that certain changes have negatively impacted the daily user experience.1 - The left sidebar can no longer be hidden or collapsed. This occupies unnecessary screen space, which significantly hinders the workflow.2 - The click-and-drag shortcut to hide multiple layers sequentially is no longer functioning. Previously, users could hide a layer, hold the click, and drag upwards to hide subsequent layers automatically. This feature appears to have been removed, forcing users to toggle visibility manually, layer by layer.Ultimately, these changes seem counterintuitive to a seamless user experience. Furthermore, community posts indicate that these updates have introduced additional widespread issues.

I’ve installed the latest Figma Desktop App but after trying to do an initial launch. I see the process in Task Manager but there is no Figma App to work on.I’m using Windows 11 and I’ve already done these stepsClear the Figma Desktop CacheCorrupted cache files are the most common reason the desktop app fails to openOn Windows: Force quit the app Open the Run dialog by pressing Win + R Paste %APPDATA%\Figma and press Enter Delete the Desktop and DesktopProfile folder Performed a Clean Reinstallation!
When you select a component with a long name and a text element, there is a overflowing and conflicting UI on the right side panel (see top right) in the 2nd image you can see how it’s meant to look like;
When applying any default/built-in shader via Fill → Shader OR Effects → Shader on the Figma desktop app, nothing renders on canvas and no shader panel appears for me. Hi Figma Support,I recently updated my AI credits after running out of the 3,000 AI credits included in my Professional Full seat.However, I realized that the additional AI credits are not available for immediate use and appear to be scheduled for my next billing cycle.Since I needed the credits right away and haven't been able to use the additional AI credits at all, I'd like to request that this AI credit update be canceled before it is charged.The upcoming invoice currently shows an "AI credit updates" charge of $24.As the additional credits have not been used, I would really appreciate it if you could cancel this update and remove the upcoming charge.Thank you very much for your help.Best regards,

I love the new addition of Figma Motion and it’s exactly what I’ve been looking for. In particular, the ability to export an animated SVG is fantastic and saves me so much time authoring animations “by hand”!ProblemI do however have a problem with the exported files. When I set up my animation in Figma, everything looks great. Exporting it as SVG adds additional transform attribute to the group, which (if it has animations) completely displaces it by said transform. When I remove the transform attribute from the group, the layout is fixed and resembles what I can see in Figma.I suppose the source of the problem is somewhere in the code that parses the animation set up in Figma and converts it to the SVG animation keyframes. As the keyframes already specify the position / translation, the additional transform on the group moves the entire group an breaks the offsets specified by the keyframes.ExampleMy example uses two rectangles with rounded corners, both of which are within a mask gro
My school doesn't have a school email i could use. Technically I have one but it's not accessible for students and is only used to sign in to school computers. I already had an education account on my normal google account and i went to re-verify it but now it won'tet me do so without a school email. I need to use figma for school as I'm an IT student but I can't pay for a normal upgraded account as i have no income.
Hi Figma Community / Education Team,I am writing here out of sheer desperation because the standard support routes have completely failed me, and I am at serious risk of failing a university class because of it.The Issue: I am applying for the Figma Education plan. Everyone else in my university group applied the exact same way and got approved. For some reason, the automated SheerID system failed in my case.The Support Loop: I contacted Figma Support (Ticket #1784710). They told me they cannot do manual reviews and sent me to SheerID support. I contacted SheerID support. They replied with an automated message saying: "we are unable to verify your status at this time [...] we are not able to offer further details or manual assistance for this specific request." They called it a "final determination" and closed the case without even asking for my documents (like my Student ID or schedule). I have a problem: the annual plan renewal for my organization somehow includes taxes now; however, before there weren't any taxes included. I noticed that for some reason, in the "bill to" column, the address was changed - the country, to be exact. In all the previous invoices, the country was Kazakhstan; now it's Russia for some reason.So, to be clear, in the account settings, the billing address is and was correct, but in the invoice it changed, and I guess it started to include taxes based on the incorrectly changed country. How is that even possible, and can it be fixed?The invoice isn't paid yet because of that.I raised a ticket a week ago, and it’s still open without any answer. I keep getting errors when I try to open a file. It starts to load then it craps out and returns to the main screen. I can’t do anything.
Apparently, I’m running an online contest and I relied on Figma Motion as the on-screen graphic. Now the way the animation works is that I tend to use preset animations (e.g. opacity, position). For example, a simple text would have an entrance and an exit animation, consist of Opacity + Position > wait > Opacity + Position. There are two Opacity to allow smooth entrance and exit. Now everything works fine, until one day when Figma Motion started to break down. Figma Motion only accept one opacity per element, according to my testing, and only if the animation start at 0s then it will work fine. Delaying the animation will result to the element being exposed before its initial animation. I will also attach a “before everything crashes” video and a “testing crashed” video. I appreciate your attention, and to hope this issue will be fixed asap.
The new sidebar takes up valuable horizontal space, only to display a few links that can be moved elsewhere. How can we hide this? Or collapse it into the Figma button, instead of using 100 pixels just for 6 links, 4 of them who already existed somewhere else before anyway?
