I’m using the layout guide to create columns, but they are failing to show up? I’m currently using the Figma Desktop App version 125.5.6 on macOS Sequoia 15.5.

I’m relatively new to Figma and I need a bit of help.I want to create a size selection button for my clothing e-shop prototype.Each size selection should be highlighted with a fill independently when selected—meaning to say if I have size S,M,L,XL, I can only choose one option.Additionally, I also want a ‘unavailable’ option where the button cannot be interacted with.  Thank you so much! 😃 

Hi Figma team,I’ve encountered an unexpected behavior when using Auto Layout with negative gaps. When a zero-width or height element is included in the frame, the negative gap is ignored, and spacing defaults to 0.Steps to Reproduce: Create an Auto Layout frame with a horizontal or vertical direction. Add multiple regular elements (e.g., rectangles) — negative gaps work as expected. Add a zero-width or zero height element into the same Auto Layout group. Suddenly, the negative gap no longer works — the spacing defaults to 0, breaking the layout.  Would appreciate if this could be looked into.Thanks! Changing the gap reveals that only the Auto layout frames without the zero size element are able to have a negative gap value 

I was asked to open a file in recovery mode because it ran out of memory, i tried doing that but it still wasn't opening. so i checked online and i was asked to clear the figma app cache. I cleared the cache, and after doing that, the file opened, but now all the screens on that file are missing. i cant find them anywhere. pls advise on how to recover these files. 

Hello,  I’ve been playing with the new feature figma make, and when I upload a whole screen (frame) with a specific design, the redering comes out totally different and messes up the whole design. I’ve tried uploading a png instead of an image, and nothing, I’ve tried to “clean up” the frame and erase all the invisible elements of the frame, and nothing. Am I missing something? Is theres any way to make it work better? Any tips?

However, when they use the "Back" button to return to the customization screen, the components don't reset to their default state. Rebuilding the interactive components from scratch. Testing the flow in a completely new, clean Figma file with just those components. Hello, we are looking to set up a new Design System in my company and can’t decide on the 2 or 3 tier system for tokens. Due to very limited resources, we are leaning towards 2 tiers, but I really like the idea of Component-specific tokens (3rd tier).I have found a tutorial demonstrating the setup of Semantic tokens, but they were actually categorised and named as Component-specific (video link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1O2sROtE3uI) Is this a usual practice? Could we define some Component specific tokens on the second level alongside Semantic tokens?  Any advice is very welcome. Thank you.  

Hi, I have a question about a variable/component I created. I’ve set up a condition where, when the toggle or switch is turned on, the dropdown menu becomes enabled, and when the toggle or switch is turned off, the dropdown menu becomes disabled.However, I noticed that when I turn the toggle off, the selected item in the dropdown resets to its default value. Annoying that auto-layout components with hidden layers set to Fixed in library file are forced override to Scroll when propagated out from library into other files.Anyone find a workaround?

I created a Make composant for my Figma site.I’d like to feed it with a custom image. I managed to create a string field because I don’t think a file field already exists.I’ve been wondering if there’s a way to get the URL of a media already present on my Figma file ?Thank you very much  

I’m still getting to grips with Figma. I’ve just noticed that there is now Figma Sites. If I purchase a paid plan, does this give me access to Figma Design as well, or just Sites?

Since yesterday my figma runs really slow and also shows storage issues. even if the file did not change now my storage space is suddenly full. Working like this is not even possible as i have to wait for certian things up to a minute and it is also pixalated.

I have the following problem. Hi all. I’m new to Figma and currently working on a project where I’m generating cards using text pulled from a Google Sheet via a plugin like Google Sheets Sync.The sync is working fine. Each card is receiving the correct text from the sheet. However, I’d like to go a step further and apply specific font colors to certain words or patterns within the text.Here is the data in sheets: Here’s a screenshot of the cards in Figma: The 2 cards in the frame are populating with the text correctly. However I would like the font to have certain colors based on certain keywords. For example,In Line 1: “Some” and “line” should be red, everything else in line 1 should be white.  In Line 2: “Some” should be red, anything text in bracket should be orange, etc.  My Questions:Is this type of partial, inline text formatting (color changes) possible when using data from Google Sheets? When using the native “Slide number” component provided by Figma Slides, the page number is handled automatically. However, enabling the “Include total” option — which displays the format “current page / total slides” — introduces a problem. If new slides are added after the component has already been inserted, the total number of slides does not update automatically and remains stuck at the previous count. The only workaround found is to manually toggle the “Include total” option OFF and then back ON. While this does refresh the total correctly, it becomes impractical when dealing with a large number of slides.

Why is it that even though I have preset integer values in the variables (font size, padding), Figma changes the integer values of the component’s child elements to decimals and doesn’t allow me to edit them? I have to detach the instancebefore I can change the values back to integers. Figma Design has this keyboard shortcut for text tuning: It conflicts with Chrome’s well-known shortcut to go to the previous or next tab.As a result when I execute this shortcut while in the Figma Design tab, Chrome stops switching tabs. Which is a pity, because this happens even if you have no text selected.  Any suggestion (other than using the native Figma app, which is not my preference)?Is there no way to disable or redefine certain Figma shortcuts?

Venho hoje para reportar um problema no site e gostaria de saber se temos uma solução para isso.Ao desenvolver o site, geralmente uso a categoria “Google Fonts” para selecionar uma fonte para o meu website do meu cliente… Sabendo que o cliente tem uma identidade visual, eu busco na galeria Google Fonts a fonte do meu cliente, exemplo Gibson. O Figma me informa que a fonte Gibson foi encontrada… Porém, ele me leva a crer que a fonte Gibson está na categoria que eu selecionei, “Google Fonts”, o que não está.Gostaria de saber se os desenvolvedores do Figma poderiam corrigir isso para que este tipo de problema não aconteça, e que a “Categoria > Google Fonts” seja uma forma de selecionar um grupo específico de fontes. E que a parte de Pesquisa seja delimitada pela Categoria.Att.

Hello!I wrote here 10 months ago about my prototype not working when I share them with some colleagues because the variables just don’t work at all.  I tried again today with a new prototype and still have the same issue. It works perfectly fine on my computer, variables are set, used, changed, all good.But when my colleague opens the prototype on her computer, it’s as if the variables didn’t exist at all. (tried in browser and the desktop app)This is really a pain when you spend time creating a nice proto that no-one can use…Has anyone run into this or better yet, found a solution? Thanks!

Skipped slides in Figma Slides are still visible on the iOS app, is that the intended behaviour?

A frame below the fold with mouse enter trigger not respecting the preserve scroll position functionality. My main top level frames are named identically. Just about every frame, header and nav have auto layouts so I don’t know if that is causing the issue but I don’t see why it would. This is making my scroll to top button difficult to use and a dynamic header that goes away on scroll down and quickly comes back on scroll up before getting to the top of the page impossible.

Hi Figma Team,I'm using a Professional plan and I'm logged in, but when I generate a design using Figma Make (AI), I don’t see the "Open in Design" or "Continue in Design" button after the layout is generated.All I can do is view the generated frame, regenerate, or refine it – but there’s no option to transfer it into a design file. I’ve tried refreshing, using different browsers, and checking my workspace, but the button is still missing.Is this feature not yet available on my account or in my region?How can I transfer AI-generated layouts from Figma Make into a design file for editing?Thanks in advance for your help!Best regards,Magda
