Hey everyone,
I’ve been learning mobile app design in Figma lately, and AI tools often suggest that I should always follow responsive design rules. However, I’ve noticed that many templates, social media posts, and even YouTube tutorials don’t seem to focus much on responsiveness.

So I’m wondering — in the mobile app design field, is responsiveness actually an important rule to follow, or is it something designers usually skip in practice?

Would love to hear your thoughts! 🙌

Great question! 👋

Responsiveness definitely matters, even in mobile design — just in a different way. You’re not resizing between desktop and phone, but between different screen sizes, aspect ratios, and safe areas (think iPhone SE vs. Galaxy Ultra).

It’s less about “fluid layouts” and more about making sure your components and frames adapt gracefully. Auto layout + constraints in Figma help a ton here.
