can´t verify my student Account

I’ve tried many times to verify my student status, but it didn’t work. I received an email from SheerID asking me to “finish everything,” but when I click the button, it says: “This verification has expired. Please submit a new verification.” When I try to verify again, it says I’ve exceeded the limit.

I thinking it’s because I clicked the link only a few days later and the time expired.

Hi,

Thank you very much for your help and for updating my account — I can see it’s now set as an admin account.
I have several ideas for improving the platform, as someone who both works in and teaches UX/UI design, and has completed multiple projects using Figma.

Who can I contact to share these suggestions?

To resolve the “Verification Limit Exceeded” message, the best next step is to contact the SheerID team directly here, as they can reset your verification attempts. Since Figma isn’t able to manually review documents or confirm eligibility, SheerID is the right team to help.
 
SheerID may also contact you by email for additional information or documentation, so be sure to check your inbox (replying directly to their message, rather than starting a new ticket, will ensure your application continues moving along.)

Is it possible for you to reset my verification status? So I can try again, because SheerID hasn’t responded to me for about 3-4 days already.

Hey @ARSLAN GORYAEV, unfortunately I can’t reset your verification status.
For your information, Figma can’t manually review documents or confirm eligibility. SheerID is the right team to handle this, and I completely understand the urgency.

Your approval will need to be processed by SheerID, so you’ll need to continue communicating with them directly until it’s complete.

Hi Figma team,

SheerID replied to me today and said that verification is only possible using a school-issued email address, because there are currently some system issues on Figma’s side.

However, my school confirmed that they don’t provide school email addresses to students.
What should I do in this situation? Is there any alternative way to verify my student status?

Thank you for getting back to me and for letting me know about this.
 
We apologize for the delay, as we were waiting for official confirmation from the Figma team regarding requests submitted using non–school-issued emails.
 
We’ve now received clarification that a school-issued email address is required for verification. The option to select “No” when asked if you have a school-issued email is currently being reviewed and updated by Figma, as it may cause confusion for some users.
 
We sincerely apologize that we’re unable to verify your request using a personal email. Figma’s support team is also unable to override this requirement. At this time, the only way to complete verification is by submitting your request through a school-issued email.
 
Thank you for your understanding and patience. We truly appreciate your time and cooperation.

Hey Arslan, thanks for your patience while we looked into this.
 I’ve checked internally, and our Figma Education are currently reviewing how these cases are handled with SheerID. We’ll share an update once things are clarified.

I finally got a school-issued email address and tried to verify my student status again, but the system says that I’ve already exceeded the verification attempts.

Could you please reset my verification status so I can try again using my new school email?

That’s great news, glad you were able to get a school-issued email! 🎓

For the verification attempts, unfortunately we don’t have a way to manually reset or verify Education requests on our side. The best step now is to reach out to SheerID here, as they handle the Figma verification process and can reset your ability to apply again.

It can take up to 6 business days for them to reply, but once they do, you should be able to verify again with your new school email.

Hello,
I am both a teacher and a student in higher education
But I am unable to receive email from the institution where I teach,
I have tried several times to update the status and was unsuccessful because I do not have an email account issued by the institution where I teach
I am really happy that this is the service
It makes sense that not every institution can open an email account for every teacher and every student
I would love to hear public opinion on the above service

@rinat_chen , thanks for your feedback, I completely hear you.

I just have an update on this: our Figma for Education team has reaffirmed with SheerID that schools that do not issue student or faculty emails are still eligible for our offer.

Since we partner with SheerID for all higher-education verification, we recommend trying to verify again through their platform.
If you have any questions about your school’s domain eligibility, SheerID’s product support team will be the best point of contact to clarify the next steps.

Hope this helps clear things up, and sorry again for any confusion this may have caused!

I did some research on the market and many higher education institutions do not have a school domain and for this there is a transaction approval with a fixed institution symbol
I corresponded with the SheerID team and they did not approve me and this caused me a really, really big heartache
I ask you to work for him to sort out my status please

Hey ​@rinat_chen , I’m really sorry to hear how upsetting this experience has been. I completely understand how frustrating it must feel, especially after putting effort into verifying your status.

Our Figma for Education team has recently reaffirmed with SheerID that schools which do not issue student or faculty email addresses are still eligible for the Education offer.

Since this update was just confirmed, I’d recommend reaching out to SheerID’s support team once again to have them review your case. They’ll be able to take another look and help sort out your verification status based on this updated information. (We can’t manually verify in our end).

I already reached out to SheerID support and also contacted Figma Education support, but unfortunately, I haven’t received any reply yet.
I really need this issue to be resolved as soon as possible.
