As the digital world expands, so does its environmental footprint. From the energy used to host apps and websites to the user behaviors we encourage through design, product managers are in a unique position to champion more sustainable practices across the development lifecycle. These are some of the best ways product managers can start integrating sustainability into their product strategy without compromising performance or user satisfaction. Build for Staying Power Over Speed In the race to get things out fast as fast as possible, it’s easy to rack up a backlog of underdeveloped features and short-term fixes. But not everything needs to be a sprint. As a product manager, it’s your responsibility to question whether what you’re releasing will remain relevant and maintainable as time goes on. Focusing on solutions that are stable, scalable, and built to evolve helps your team avoid future overhauls. It also prevents your product from becoming cluttered with redundant tools and forgott
Hey there! I just published my website using Figma Sites. I connected the right domain and I had no issues with that. The problem is that the website takes forever to load in any screen, and when it comes to mobile it just doesn’t fully load. Even when I try to change my desktop windows sizes, the website crashes all the time. Is that because I published recently, and must wait for it to “settle”? Or did I do something wrong? Here’s my website: www.deborahavila.com I appreciate immensely any help!
Hi, can anyone tell me what do I need to access Design/Dev Mode/whatever on a Figma link in order to export images from a Figma prototype? I used to have an option to go to Design Mode or Dev Mode or Ask to Edit, but not anymore, something changed and I have no idea what and how. This is all very confusing and not having an option inside the preview is just bad UX .
Hi, I’m having a problem publishing a noise effect style I’ve created. Once I publish the library, everything else is able to publish aside from the noise effect (its status constantly shows ‘Added’). The error I get is this: Is this a known problem? Anything I can do to get my noise effect to publish? Thanks!
Hello,I've added a new symbol (paper_plane) to my library but when I call it in a nested component, it doesn't automatically take the colors of my states (active / hover...). I read in another question that the layer must have the same name, which is my case. I've been looking for a while but I really can't figure out how to do it.Any ideas? :) Icon library : I added the paper plane, same name “Vector” in the componant But color don’t override when I change the states
I just updated Figma today, and for some reason. in some frames that I work in I cant Drag select the objects anymore. None of them are locked and I can still click select them one by one.in other frames I can sometimes still drag select. If I rebuild the ‘broke frame’ in a new frame it becomes broken aswell. here is a video of the issue *Edit*There is a Huge Section just above these frames, when I zoom out more, I can select again. when the frame is too close to the section and zoomed in very close. issue happens again When moving the Fram further away from the frame everything works again
Figma Buzz looks very promising for our team, but there are a few features that our team will need in order to use this product. Autolayout on the parent frame. Email graphics are a great use case for Figma buzz, but often times assets need to adjust in height based on the headline or copy length. Persistent linked data. If I click out of the import pane, all the text linking I did just disappears. Linking groupings of pages. A simple application is a card with a front and back side. The variable data might only be on one of the sides, but I’m still going to want to export the front and back for each card. I need a way of grouping the front and back as a single multipage document that applies to bulk creating assets and exporting them as multipage pdfs. Batch process using template based on data. For example, use the HR department business card template when the field in the “department” column is “HR” and the Finance department business card template when the field in the “department”
Hi!I just opened my Figma and my file is showing “You can`t access this resource” on the desktop app. I am owner of this file and could access it yesterday. Who can help me?
Hi Figma Team, I hope this email finds you well. I’m facing an urgent issue and would really appreciate your help. When my personal email ID was removed from the work Figma system, it seems that some important personal files were also deleted as a result. One critical file I'm trying to recover is titled "Portfolio New". Could you please check if there’s any way to restore this file or if it’s available in a backup? I would be very grateful for your support in resolving this as soon as possible.
While attempting to manage components for use in our Figma Slides Templates, we’ve found that you’re essentially unable to view the layers panel unless they are moved into a slide, which then means this “components” slide is surfaced as a Slide Page Template. Steps to reproduce: Enter Design Mode Create a component with multiple variants defined (icons with multiple variants) Enter the Grid View Drag the Master Component with variants off a slide into the stage. Notice the Layers panel disappears. Expected behavior: I should be able to house master components, variants, etc without publishing them. Ideally this is a self contained canvas for organizational purposes, but even if they simply live on the stage, these layers should behave like all layers regardless of context. The Layers panel should appear.
I’m encountering an issue where the content gets truncated after exporting to PDF. Adobe Acrobat displays the following error: “The dimensions of the page are out of range. Page content might be truncated.” Has anyone come across a similar issue? Any suggestions on how to resolve this would be appreciated.
Hi everyone, I’m having a problem and could really use some help. Background:I’m working in a large Figma file — it's overloaded with information, and Figma keeps suggesting that I should offload the file. I’m using Variables extensively (light/dark theme). Here’s the issue:When I export components to another file (as a Figma Library), all components, colors, etc., are transferred. BUT the most important part — Variables — are not. If I create Variables manually or transfer them using a plugin, the system doesn't recognize or link them. It treats them as completely separate, unlinked variables. The situation:I transferred a component via the Figma Library into another file. All the colors were exported, but not the Variables. Then I exported Variables via a plugin and tried to update a color inside the component — but the system doesn’t recognize the Variables at all. It's like they are totally disconnected. Please help — I really need to fix this.
I do have Figma DevMode license/seat 30 day trial. I am using VS code extension for Figma and trying to generate code snippets as shown in your help doc (link below). But I don't see any code generation plugins available and I don't see any code to use in our VS code. Am I missing anything? Figma for VS Code – Figma Learn - Help Center
