Hi everyone,
since the last update I’m experiencing issues with the copying of images into other frames. It seems like the image isn’t stored in cache.
Does anyone know how to fix it?
Best,
Finn

Hey
I just tested this in a Figma Design file on my end and was able to copy and paste images as expected, so let’s see if we can narrow down what might be causing things to behave differently on your side.
A few things to double check:
If everything checks out and you're still seeing the issue, the best next step might be to reach out to Figma Support so they can take a closer look. When you do, it’s helpful to include:
Let us know what you find — happy to keep digging in if needed!
I am experiencing the same issue in all of my files… I have quit Figma, re-started my computer… Everything and still have the issue.
Hey
1. I m using the Figma Desktop App, Version 125.6.4
2. I m using a few plugins but didnt install one lately. Non of them is copying image related.
3. Its not working with all images/videos. Also across both my accounts
4. Copying an image from the canvas is working, but its not working when I double click it and copy it from the Fill panel to implement it into another frame.
Best
Finn
I hope this helps!

I have the same issue!
Hey
And
Just here to say that a few people on our web design team are having the same issue (but not everyone).
Hi, our team is also having this issue as well now.
Has recently occurred in the last 2-3 days with the new update. Any solutions so far?
I’m algo having this issue. It’s paaaaaaainfuuuuuuuuul & extremely time consuming for our team
Any updates?
Hi everyone — I really appreciate you continuing to surface this, and I’m sorry for the disruption this issue is causing. I’ve checked in with our engineering team, and they’re actively working on a fix.
While I don’t have a specific timeline to share just yet, I’ll circle back here with any new updates as soon as I have them.
In the meantime, a few designers have reported success with this method:
From the Fill panel → select the thumbnail by clicking on the left of the image. The element will turn blue, and you’ll be able to copy or paste the image by pressing Cmd + C or V. For an illustration, have a look at the GIF image in this thread provided by
Hope that helps in the short term, and thanks again for your continued patience.
Same issue here! Lost the functionality of copy pasting images directly into frame sometime within the last month.
Figma App 125.6.5
on Macbook Pro M3 Max running Sequoia 15.5
Thanks,

Hi everyone, quick update from our side: I just checked in with the engineering team, and they’ve pushed a fix to production that should resolve this issue.
If you haven’t already, try giving the tab you’re working in a quick refresh → copy/paste functionality should now behave as expected.
Thanks again for your patience while we worked to get this resolved. Let us know how it goes, and if any questions remain.
Good day,
As of September 3, 2025, the problem remains the same. I’m using the Desktop App (latest version). If I copy any image (any size) from any browser on MacBook with Command+C and try to paste it with Command+V — whether directly onto a frame or into the Fill panel — nothing happens. It simply doesn’t paste as it used to before.
Could you please let me know if there is any update on this issue?
