I’m using the desktop app, I restarted, and I still can’t see “paste to replace” anymore in the menu!!! it’s greyed out in quick actions. this is shocking, I need this feature so much. (PS I’m not dealing with a component or part of a component, highlighted object shown below)
all four kinds of FigJam font don’t support chinese words. the font glyph is wrong. Guess what, Figma is almost better and easy to use at everywhere, compared to adobe xd, until we type a chinese character inside it. It’s completely not compatible to CJK almost everywhere.
Hey so I have been upgrading my component library to use variables which I love. So I have done things like button colour changes depending on states to clicking a checkbox to reveal the hidden message. So recently I made a live input field for a project I have been working on. I noticed that when I inserted it into a modal and have Icon Buttons which have variables attached, buttons with variables attached and checkboxes, it seems like the only one that is not working is the input field I made. But when I place it on a new frame to test it works. I have done a work around where I have had to detach all the variables to the icon buttons, buttons and so forth and now my input field works in the modal. Is this a bug or something I may be doing wrong??
Hello, I’m having an issue where I have a generic button with an icon using an instance swap. I created a border variable and tied it to the layer. I then created a nested component with that original, made variants, changed the icons, and set up the interaction with “set variable” When the border changes, it changes for both buttons. How should I be making buttons with icons & variable interactions so this doesn’t happen and doesn’t become buggy later? example file

So I want to use Boolean to show / hide elements of a component. But my problem is that when toggled off, the elements still maintaining aspect ratio. Is this intentional? Does this means I can’t use boolean property to show / hide label and description and I have to create variants instead?
So I’m trying to make a logo and I noticed that circles won’t align correctly, there might be some skew (This happens with both Fill and Stroke). Please see screenshots below. Is this a common bug? This is my first time seeing it and I haven’t found a solution. Thank you.
Hi all, This has been an ongoing issue with our new Design system. The space that a descender in the type box is not aligned, which causes the icons look misaligned with the text. I tried everything even making the line height bigger but it just looks proportionally wrong. I attached an example of what it looks like at the moment as you can see the spacing in ascenders is totally different to descender . Has anyone experienced something similar before
Hi there, I run a large corporate design system (On Figma Enterprise) which in turn is the base for multiple sub-libraries and files. How can I export/backup these files while keeping the connections between all of the files? Alternatively, once I have downloaded individual .fig files for each and re-uploaded them, is there a way to reconnect them so that that separate ecosystem of libraries/files now works as a standalone new ecosystem? If this isn’t technically possible, how would one make a backup of such an ecosystem at a point in time? Thanks Pierre Ecosystem illustration PNG:
Is it possible to have a component with a variable and then use that component in another file that has conditional logic based on the components variable? Right now when I try to select the variable to create conditional logic I can’t click on it. Nothing happens. Not sure if it is a bug or a constraint right now in the beta.
I am trying to delete the top part of the cart so it’s basically an open cart so I can put a text box showing a number in it. But no matter when I delete the top line it deletes the entire outside and inverts the color and when I delete the bottom line it fills it all in with color and when I try to delete both the bottom and top lines it deletes the entire vector. How do I just get rid of that part? video
I am creating a website (new to Figma) so I have created my buttons as components. My top menu bar has been set to sticky at the top. When vertically scrolling down the buttons overlap the sticky bar (they go on top, instead of sliding underneath). What am I not doing to the buttons? please help.

I accidentally added a page I designed as a component, but I cannot restore it to its previous state and I cannot make any changes to it. How can I fix it?
I’m trying to create a numbered list that’s left aligned, but when I get to double digit numbers, they become indented and are no longer in line with the single digit numbers above. Anyway to stop this? It seems you’re able to toggle on/off indented punctuation but not for numbered lists.
Hello everyone 🙂 I have a file shared on the Community and a Plugin. I want users to click a link inside the file to launch the plugin without losing context of the file and wihtout having to learn how to find a plugin in Figma. I know I can use the link from the plugin’s Community Page, but that would result in users navigating away from my main Figma file to the community page where clicking try it would not navigate back to their open file. I know I can add instructions on how to find the plugin in Figma but I would rather have a big button that says luanch plugin 🙂 Any ideas on how to get that working? Thank you kindly
I have a design library on Figma that contains everything from small components, like forms fields, to really large components, like table, modals and wizards. There are no interactive components in the library and it is very easy to publish any component when updates are made. The problem is when we use the library within a design file, bringing in components takes a long time, almost 2-5 seconds. This happens with larger components only. When the components are brought in, it is difficult to change their component and variant properties. I am able to see that the property is changed on the right panel, but the change does not immediately show on the design. It sometimes takes 10 seconds to load the change made to the property. This happens every time a component or a variant property or a nested component property is changed. My whole team is facing this problem, and it is leading to them detaching the component from the library, which kind of defeats the purpose of having the libra

The option+double click and shift+double click shortcut to set a layer as fill or hug inside an auto layout stack is great, but it doesn’t work on multiple selections. In this screen recording, I option+double click the first layer to set it to fill (which works), but when I select 2 layers and try the same thing, it doesn’t set them to fill, rather, it selects the layer I was selecting. Please fix 🙂
Hi everyone, I hope someone can help me with this. I am experiencing some troubles with Figma today. My main problem is that I tried to change a component back to a frame using the option, command + B shortcut, but nothing happened. Does someone know why this occurred? In general, I have the impression that the way how components work has changed. I tried to copy a main components into a new file and it created a new component. That was different before. Before I had a replicant of that main component. I am a bit confused, tbh. Could somebody clarify what happend since the last update and how to work with components now? 🙈
What does it mean, when from left of my pages name shows an icon of component?
Hey. Like I said in the topic subject, I’d like to resize text boxes using autolayout. I don’t mean scale, but adapt the text containers to the size of the frame. Is that possible? Thank you in advance, guys.
In Figma I have a component that contains a container for an icon, which I replace using swap instance. The container for icons is 12 by 12 px and the icons adapt to the container and change their size, but not always. There are some icons from the component library that remain large, as if they were in an icon container sized 24 by 24 px rather than 12 by 12 px. replaced using “swap instace” and the icon, which was originally 24 by 24 px, became 12 by 12 px, that is, adjusted to the size. however, if we select another (according to my logic - the same) icon, then we will get a cropped version of the icon, as if the container for the icon is not 12 by 12 px, but 24 by 24 px. How can I make all my icons from the library fit the size of the container?
