Is there a setting that disables clickable hyperlinks? I’m just trying to work with the text, but every time I click the link, it opens my browser which is super annoying. Thanks

Hi, I’ve been using Figma to design our company’s application for over 5 years now and was prototyping using the traditional method of using spaghetti lines and gazillion frames to present a feature, so when I discovered their recent release about variables, I was excited to try it out and implement it for our team to be more efficient in making prototypes with lesser frames at a lesser amount of time. I’ve had no problems using variables in my early stages of designing for our product so far, until this particular instance: http://tinyurl.com/3rh2py3t The process flow for this is as follows: Click the first item (tagged “Console”) Transfer through each tabs available on the modal (this is made using variables, see attached pictures) When presenting the prototype, the error happens on step #2, where you will experience stuttering of the prototype and a laggy response (about 5s). Previously you could map a keyboard shortcut for Go to main component in library but that menu option now appears to be missing, thus breaking the keyboard shortcut set up in macOS system settings. Now the only way to get to the main component is via a context menu in the canvas or clicking the button on the right panel. Neither of which is mappable to a keyboard shortcut. This post was solved with the keyboard shortcut until that menu item was removed. It seems dumb but I honestly used that keyboard shortcut every day and it will be sorely missed.

Thank you, team, for the fantastic new feature! It has significantly reduced my workload, and I’m planning to share it with my colleagues tomorrow. However, I encountered a problem when I thought selecting matching layers would also help manage interactions, but it did not. Here’s what happened: I created a dropdown and duplicated it across multiple frames. After several unrelated edits, I realized I had to design an open overlay for the dropdown and link them together. Using Command+Option+A, I selected the item across all frames. I attempted to drag the interaction to the target overlay. The interaction was not created for other layers. I tried again to modify the interaction in the side panel. Despite my efforts, only the layer I was working on had the interaction. Is the feature I’m looking for not available, or am I doing something wrong? I appreciate your time and assistance!

Hi, I’m trying to have a pull up panel that is in front of a map that can be scrolled. I’m having a problem where I can’t pull up the panel as this just scrolls the map that is behind it. I’ve created a very simple example of the issue. Can anyone think of a better way to setup my design so I can both scroll the map and pull up and down the panel? Thanks for the help in advance! Olie

Is it possible to update the children of an existing component using the plugin API? I am working on a plugin that generates icon components for a library from raw SVGs. The generation part is pretty straightforward, but I’d also like to be able to update the existing Figma components when there are changes to the SVGs without breaking the component instances. The children property is readonly and I haven’t been able to find another way to remove the existing children of the ComponentNode so that I can add the updated children. Is there something I missed?

There is no mention on the documentation on whether this is even possible but other platforms such as Slack allow you to mention other users using their API. For example in Slack you write a message like this: Hello, <@U12345678>! and the user is mentioned. I tried different potential formats but to no avail. Is there any way to mention a user in a comment created using the API or can it be added in the future?

I have already tried every suggestion from every other forum that somewhat addresses this problem, but with no success. There is no clear reason this is happening and its happened every time I present. Before anyone says the ovbious: No nothing, no component, screen, etc. is selected when I click present. No I am not talking about the zoom feature in the FIGMA editor UI This also happens when I test the app on my phone… it makes me scroll around to get to the corners of the screen. PLS HELP ME. I am writing a Plugin that stores metadata on ComponentNodes as pluginData on the node. I have here an internal ID that matches the node to our internal Admin app database. My goal is to write a Widget that would be able to read this pluginData. I know the process of reading it torugh plugin api, but the pluginData is segmented per pluginId. In local dev I was thinking to use the same ID for the plugin and the widget. But would I be allowed to publish a plugin and a widget with the same ID? Is there another pattern to share plugin data between them? (besides sharedPluginData) Thanks, Sorin

All of a sudden, variables are unavailable. The prototype works okay when, say, switching from light to dark mode, so the variables work as they should, but I cannot open the library and make changes. Does anybody have any hints?

Is there a way to let Figma know, that I do not want to use the German physical keyboard layout? I have an US Intl layout and would very much like to keep using it. It doesn’t matter if I use the web version or the desktop app, if I want to undo an action I must press Ctrl+Y instead of Ctrl+Z 🙂

I have created a modal component with various elements that is working great - apart from the alignment of a ‘close’ button. I have used auto-layout for most of the elements to control the resizing of the modal when different lengths of text are used. I would like the ‘close’ button to always be pinned top left and move with the height of the modal frame. I built an app prototype for a client and suddenly the buttons have disappeared for him in preview mode. He’s on a Galaxy S23. They’re showing up fine for me on my iPhone. Funny thing is that initially, they were visible to him. This only happened after a few days.

I’d like my plugin to be interacted with primarily via the keyboard. The primary flow would be CMD+/, select plugin, down arrow to action in the plugin, return to run the action on the selected frame. To do this, I need to set the user’s focus to the plugin window. Is that possible?
