I created a branch as usual, asked for review, got approved, and now instead of the “merge” button it says that I must have editor permission to merge. Which is odd, because I created the branch and everything, I obviously have editor’s permission (I even went to check if I did). I had to ask a collegue to merge it for me.
Just a heads up that I found a workaround for a really bad bug in which one component was not updating in my design system Library. Unfortunately, you have to recreate the component from scratch and add it all downstream components that use that component. In my case, it was an icon button. Steps: Create an instance Detach the instance (cmd opt B) Rename the element Convert it into a component (cmd opt K) Add variants and properties as appropriate Add component to all downstream components that used the original component Remove old component from all downstream instance swaps in other components Delete original component Publish Library Hope this helps someone out there before the head gets damaged banging against the wall.
Has anyone found a way to view the full name of styles shown in the right sidebar? If the name is long, it gets cut off, and hovering the cursor over the name doesn’t cause the UI to display the full name. Ideally, I’d be able to drag to resize the right sidebar the same way I can for the left sidebar. (Even if I could view the full name by hovering the cursor, that would be very disruptive to my workflow.)
I recently was working a lot with Smart-Animate to create prototype Animations to hand off to the devs. I had this annoying Problem that if I had created a component, I was not able to revert the Component Status without undoing all the changes I had made to the Component/Variants. I read about Plugins like “Detach Master” etc. but I wondered why this is not a built-in Feature. Had this problem now a couple of times, anyone else stumbled upon this?
There’s a 1px grey line appearing on the left, right, and bottom edges of the preview mode window. As shown in the photo, this issue only occurs on a specific monitor. This issue is particularly annoying when the monitor has a flat and dark bezel. Are there any upcoming updates that might address this issue? If not, is there a way I can fix it myself?
Hi everyone, I’ve created a switch component with a label. The label has ‘Default’ vars assigned to the On and Off state respectively (open the Local Var collection). I hoped to change the assigned var of the label to the ‘On’ and ‘Off’ vars defined in the ‘Changed’ var group (as defined in the Local Var collection) on the instances–you see at the bottom under “Uses ‘Changed’ label var”. All works in the Editor when I toggle the on/off state in the properties panel. However, in the Prototype view clicking on the “Changed” instances it reverts to the “Base/With Label” component var i.e. to “Off” or “On”. Is this a bug of the Prototype View or am I missing something? 🙁 I tried restarting the file, switching back and for to different pages to reset the prototype view, but nothing helps. Hello, I have recently made changes to my Figma account in order to update the 2FA configuration. However it is blocking me from publishing the new version for my plugin. I tried emailing support as suggested, then I received an automatic reply saying I won’t get any help because i’m on the starter plan. I also tried opening a ticket, but no answer so far. Can you please unblock my account? Thank you for your help.
Hi, since yesterday I have problems with the constant mirror app crashes. Android System WebView crash.
Please search for existing topics before posting! Press 🔍 at the upper right to search. I created a really simple prototype, with one overlayer that swap to another one with a video. But when i’m pressing on the back button in order to reopen the overlayer with the video, the video doesn’t restart even if the Reset video state of my interaction is activated. Any idea if it’s a bug or do I need to fix it in another way? Thanks !
• There’s a bug in the image cropping tool when holding down the command key. • Normally, cropping a single image this way anchors the image around the top of the rectangle. • If multiple images are selected and the command key is held while cropping: • The images do not anchor around the top of the rectangle layer. • The crop does not change as expected. • This inconsistent behavior is believed to be a bug. • Previously, holding down the command key would result in all images cropping uniformly. • Now, the crop property isn’t overridden when using the command key for multiple images. • There’s a similar issue with cropping multiple images. • Although the images are already set to crop, selecting all of them, holding the command key, and dragging merely resizes the images instead of cropping them. • Cropping works normally for a single image. • This confirms a bug preventing the cropping of multiple items. • Previously, cropping
After making the changes, I wish to publish them so that they become available in other project files. However, if I publish the library and open the publish menu again, I can see that all the changes that were supposedly published are still there. I cannot attach a minimally reproducible example due to the fact that this is a fairly large project that consists of several large libraries. Video demonstrating the problem. Has anyone encountered this and how to solve this problem?
Whenever I delete a child in the autolayout, the selection is directly removed and I had to trace back the frame again to select the next child which is a extreme frustration while working with large files. Does anyone know any alternative or a workaround to make the deletion of child easier when navigating with keyboard?
I’m building a few prototypes in one page, all with different flows. I can play these prototypes and view all the different Flows on the Desktop app. But I can’t view the flows on the Mobile App except for the ‘first’ flow. When I hold down two fingers to open the prototype menu, the ‘Choose flow’ is disabled, so I can’t switch between the different flows that are available on Desktop prototypes view. What I’ve tried: I tried removing all ‘Sections’ within the page I tried clearing app Cache I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Figma app I tried renaming the flows Worth mentioning that it used to work! I’m on Android (One UI version 6.1, Android 14), no Figma app updates available. Attached screenshot of me viewing the prototype flows on Desktop, but the ‘Choose Flows’ is disabled on Mobile app.
1. Describe the bug/issue you’re running into? Cannot copy and paste images from Google Slides or doc, big inefficiency to screenshot them and drop them into Figma. Copy and paste works for other images but for some reason not Google drive files 2. Are you able to consistently reproduce it? If so what are the steps? Open a google doc or slides Copy an image within a slide try to paste it on board 3. Share a screenshot, recording, console log, link to the file, etc. 4. Is the issue only happening in desktop app or a specific browser , or both? Happening on my browser 5. What OS/version and/or browser/version are you using? Mac Firefox latest version
When I have multiple image object with the same size and in the same coordinates making Auto-layout out of them converting them into one frame with multiple fills. Thats not what I wanted
For example - Montserrat, or Noto Serif: Google Fonts Variable font sliders are missing Slant as well.
After Figma released the new version of the product, I can’t find the the “Edit Object” tool to work with the vectors. Please, help me to find it. I don’t think it’s a good idea to hide some important tools. Clean and fancy space is good, when it’s working. I don’t like to search the functions in the collapsed folders. Please, do smth with it.
I’m using Figma Slides and some screens have basic interactions: one shows a PNG of a screen that can be scrolled vertically one has a video If I only select the “Present” option from the play button menu, the interactions work. If I select “Present + Notes”, they don’t work in either view; the slides seems to be entirely static and nothing will move or play. Is there anything I can do to fix this? Unfortunately I have to show the presentation soon.
Hello, it’s been a few weeks that Ctrl+Alt+K is broken on all of my accounts, on all of my devices, and on the web and desktop apps. Changing the keyboard layout (both in Figma and Windows) does nothing. When I hover the button, the shortcut in the tooltip is indeed Ctrl Alt K. But it does not work anymore.
Hi, I’m facing a weird case: When fetching a third-party file through /v1/files/xxx I see inside components the component 2:839. It’s marked remote: false and dozens of instances are using it through componentId: "2:839". Unfortunately, the component definition does not exist in the document tree. I have to use the endpoint /v1/files/xxx/nodes?ids=2:839 to see it exists. What could explain this? Did you see this before? The file used is a design system from ~2020, I’m wondering if due to different Figma versions, evolutions… maybe the file as a corrupted tree? EDIT: note that by using /v1/components/$COMPONENT_KEY, it returns 404 so it’s not a remote component wrongly noted as remote: false.
Hi mates! I’m back again with a new bug! I have no idea what it is. Created a component using a simple radio component. All variables are assigned correctly, but Figma decided to assign additional variables in a component that she should not have access to in this file. If you dig deeper, you can see that there is such a variable, but it is designed to round the border radius and it is tied to another element. What was my surprise when I specified the variable for the radius.
Not sure if this is a bug or a feature request tbh. But I am not getting hover states on any of the menus or interface on UI3. I feel like this used to be there and was very helpful. Having hover states on items is really missed and I believe is an accessibility requirement as well.
Hello, I’ve been experiencing a weird bug when it comes to the prototype of some latest projects i’ve been working on. These involve alot of “On hover” effects within the components. The bug happens once you scroll the screen and the “On hover” effects triggers on a component and all of the hotspots become unnaccesable, seemingly scrolling past where the component is actually on the screen. Before scroll: After scroll: Recording:
I need to update from main file before merging changes. However, in the process of updating main file, it says a change is “System Improvements: File Optimizations”. Not sure what that is (there is no description provided), but I hit “Apply changes” anyway. Nothing happens. Now I can’t merge my changes since I apparently still need to update those system improvements from the main file.
Hi! This morning I found such a bug with autolayout: When I try to combine several layers into one autolayout, some of the layers go beyond the autolayout, although all of them are not in an absolute position
