Version history issue

I’ve discovered a few minor issues that would really help improve my workflow. At my company, we use version history to save older versions of projects and keep the file cleaner. This way, we can share the link to an older version if someone wants to review a project that was completed a while ago.

However, I’ve noticed that these links often don’t work properly. When you click on them inside a Figma comment, they don’t load correctly. I ran a few tests and found that the link only works if I manually find the version again in the list and copy the link from there. Apparently, saving the link in a chat or document breaks it and it doesn’t load for others.

Alongside this, I realized how painful it is not having a search feature in version history. Even after disabling the “Show auto-saved versions” option, it still shows versions I didn’t save manually, which makes it harder to find the ones that matter.

Hi @Thomas Borba Ruel,

Thanks for reaching out about us on version history links and the lack of a search feature.

I just tested the version history link issue on my end by:

  1. Copying a link from version history
  2. Pasting it into a comment
  3. Clicking the link from another account with edit access to the file

It seems to be working as expected for me. If the issue continues on your end, we'd love to take a closer look! When you have a moment, it would be super helpful if you could file a bug report by following this guide: Submit a Bug Report

Regarding the version history search and the display of auto-saved versions, we've heard similar feedback from our community.

We'd love for you to join the conversation in the post below! Our Product Managers regularly review suggestions there, so you can directly share your thoughts with them.

Thanks,
