Hey All! I’m currently cleaning up my design system from unnecessary unused libraries. And Figma shows the amount of used instances/styles/variables, but there’s no way to see in file where they are.Is there an auto way (maybe a plugin?) to find and remove remnants/footprints of styles and instances from detached libraries? Such libraries are marked “Used in this file” Thanks!

Hi :), As text-box-trim/text-box-edge is now available in Safari TP and in development in Chrome, we are trying to evaluate this as a progressive enhancement. Unfortunately, we are experiencing a completely different result with what Figma and a compatible browser renders, considering the same input and settings. We could see that by default Figma uses both for text-box-trim, and cap for text-box-edge, but the end result is radically different:

Hey, I’m doing some remote testing with my prototypes and recording the results over video calls, but I can’t figure out a way to see where my users are tapping and clicking. You know on testing software you can see little circles appear when users interact with the screen, is there any way of turning that on in Figma prototypes?

I’ve been working on a file for over a month.  It was in my drafts folder and suddenly when I clicked on Figma app today it said something about can’t access so I hit refresh and now the file is completely gone.Giving context - this was my file and was not shared with anyone.  It’s extremely important as it was due literally today and finished working on it last night.Can anyone help?

ok so I've made this pink and red logo with lines shooting out of the sides, all in figma. I used masks to create the finished look. When I export as PNG it works, but when I export as SVG to add to illustrator it does not work and instead the lines don't show up and only the mask show's, here is a screenshot of what I mean in illustratorwhen I try flattening the image the lines become black and the mask section fills out in that reddish color, which is definitively not what I'm trying to accomplishAny help would be greatly appreciatedthis is what I see in illustratorthis is when I flatten the image, which is totally not what I want

I built a prototype last week, and now coming back to it with fresh eyes I’ve forgotten everything I did 🤣 woopsy!I made a handful of local variables, and I’m not sure which ones I wound up using and which ones I can safely delete.I found out how to identify variable tokens used in the design, like colors, but I can’t find a similar process for identifying variables used in prototyping.Is there a plugin or maybe a native feature I’m missing?Thanks in advance!

How can I make it so components can have a boolean “visibility” property without this? 

I want to create a button using auto layout that extends from the left, not the right when I edit the text.  The only way I can get the text to extend to the left is when “resize to fit” isn’t selected, but then only the text extends, not the background frame of the button. Surely there’s a way to do this?Thanks in advance,Lucy

For example, I try to load a color variable which key is VariableID:d2c9451722738c45a0c75047e467b459856cce94/49352:54The code will be:const iconTertiaryVariable = await figma.variables.getVariableByIdAsync("VariableID:d2c9451722738c83a0c75047e467b459865cce94/49352:173");If I use the color variable in the figma file already in another element, it works. But If I haven’t used the variable yet in the file, I got error always. It says:The variable with id "xxxxxxxx" does not exist.How I can load the variable without this error?Thanks,Toshi

Figma file cover takes too long to sync up with the latest change from file. This issue has been being for along time and should to be resolved before the Cover size update

I have a component with three variants, each made up of a single frame, and prototyped the three together. In the instance, each has an image fill added as an override. Fills two and three are lost when previewing/interacting with this. I also tried an additional frame in each variant, and again added the image fills to the instance with the same outcome. Frames are named the same for Smart Animate. Instant produces the same results. As simple as this is, am I missing something?

I am facing a bug where Figma does not correctly reference variables in a different collection even when the appropriate modes are set. For context, I have created a simple multi-brand design system with: Primitives collection: storing hex values of colors for each of my company’s brands (yellow and green) Semantic collection: storing references to variables in the primitive collection for the same brands After setting up the primitives collection, when I try and edit the variable for green brand in the semantic collection, the variable ‘picker’ window shows the correct green that should be referenced from primitives, however for some reason this does not apply.  The video demonstrates the issue. I also show correctly applying the mode for the page to be the green brand from primitives when attempting to troubleshoot.  Happy to hear if

Asset search recognizes PascalCase within the file where the component is defined but fails to do so when searching from a different file.For example, if I search for “can” within the file containing the TrashCan component, it appears in the results. However, searching for “can” from another file does not return TrashCan—only searching for “trash” works. This seems like a bug.  

I'm trying to use a Boolean property to toggle the visibility of a layer inside a component instance, but it's not working. I added a Boolean property to my main component and tried to bind it to a layer's visibility. I right-clicked the eye icon, linked the property, but nothing happens—toggling it in an instance doesn’t hide the layer. What am I missing? Any help would be appreciated!

I’m on a mac and am attempting to add a keyboard shortcut for “reset all changes” on component instances. I can’t seem to figure out the menu command I need include. I have tried “Reset all changes” as it appears on the instance menu, but that doesn’t seem to work. Any insight would be appreciated!

Usually when i open a file, a new tab opens for that file, but now i only see the design file but no tab is opened for it. I’ve tried changing teams and re installing Figma but nothing changed. Help please

Hey everyone! I recently was shared a file to edit within my team and I was able to edit and view without any issues. However after a week or so when I try to jump back into these files it is now requiring me to verify that I am a student or educator. I’m unable to do this because I am neither and if I can’t do it then I am unable to edit the file. Other members of my team are not experiencing this issue. Is there any solution in order for me to be able to edit these files again without verification? Does it have something to do with the owners permission of the file?

Well, I’m doing a project that uses a lot of overlays, and I want to use the manual option, but the preview appears sometimes… when I want to position one preview it doesn’t show up, but some times it works. What can i do?For example, the preview doesnt appear even I close this windows of interaction… what do I do?
