Hi Windsurf team and community,I'm facing an issue with the Figma MCP integration in the latest Windsurf desktop app.My setup:Figma plan: Professional Seat type: Expert (Full seat) (confirmed via whoami) MCP server: Official remote server (https://mcp.figma.com/mcp) Re-connected multiple times + restarted WindsurfWhat works:Read tools are available (get_design_context, get_screenshot, get_metadata, etc.) Code Connect mapping tools create_new_file, generate_diagram, etc.What doesn't work:The write-to-canvas tool use_figma (the main tool for creating frames, components, auto-layout, and modifying designs directly on the Figma canvas) is not appearing in the available tools list.The Figma MCP catalog explicitly lists Windsurf as supporting Read and Wr

Our team is noticing that our main design system library is having hundreds of changes flagged in the publishing panel, even after a weekend of not working on the library. The panel shows what’s modified, removed, or added, but isn’t clear what the changes are or what caused them. It’s scary publishing these types of updates because they aren’t coming from our team. Is this something being caused by Figma? How can we feel comfortable publishing so many changes when we weren’t even the ones making them? 

I've received an email with the message “Add more credits to your team" but the team has 3 persons only one of them has reached the 2500 credits. how can I transfer credits from one person in the team to an other person in the team?and in one of the topics it was 3000 credits but in our case it is 2500 credits. Can you also tell me what the correct number is. 

Does anyone know why this games icon is suddenly appearing in my UI and in my admin panel? It’s taking up valuable screen real estate, and making unnecessary cognitive load, and I hate games. I don’t want it here, didn’t ask for it, did not sign up for it, plug it in, or do anything (that I know of) to put it there. Any insight or help to get rid of it, much appreciated. 

I’ve been playing around with Codex & today I installed the Figma plugin in order to try out some of the new features & skills such as creating a file, creating a design system, etc. Everything went well, I was able to log into my company Figma account and verify that all the skills were present. However, when I attempted to use some of these skills, I was told that I only had read only access.After this, I attempted to troubleshoot by quitting out of both Figma and Codex, uninstalling & reinstalling the plugin, turning on dev mode & enabling the local MCP server inside of Figma (I was using the remote server before), but nothing seems to work. Based on what I see in the instructions, it should theoretically work out of the box, so to speak.Has anybody encountered this problem before, and if so, how did you fix it? Perhaps I’m doing something wrong, or if there’s a flag that needs to be enabled on the administrative side that will let me use these skill

Hello,We are trying to use a Figma Make prototype for user testing. Unfortunately, it is asking the folks we are testing with to create an account and sign in to view and use the prototype.This is too much friction for a testing session. Is there any way to share Figma Make prototypes with others without the need for them to log in?We’ve set share settings to “Anyone with password”, but they get an error screen after entering the password, unless they log into Figma.  

Hi everyone! I’m building a complex character system and ran into an issue with overrides.My setup:I have separate component sets for different clothing styles: Business, Workers, Science, Tech, etc..Each style has a large set of arm poses (about 36 variants like Holding L, Relaxed, etc.) and leg poses.I use a main "Human" component where I swap these outfits using Instance Swap.The problem:When I select a specific pose (e.g., Holding L) in the Workers style and then switch the outfit to Science, Figma resets the pose to the default one instead of keeping Holding L.What I've tried:Keeping the layer names identical across all styles (e.g., the arm layer is always named Arms).Using Nested Instances to surface the pose properties.My question:Is there a way to "link" these separate clothing components so Figma understands that Pose: Holding L in Workers is the same as Pose: Holding L in Science? Or do I have to m

I am not a professional designer, but I have been tasked with creating a simple website for the gym where I work.I am using the Figma Sites feature, but I am having trouble creating the mobile menu.In the image, the top menu is for web and tablet use, and I would like to use the bottom section as the mobile menu.I want the mobile menu to normally appear as a left-hand menu with a '+' button, but when the '+' is clicked, it should change to a '-' like the right-hand menu and expand downwards.I would be very grateful if you could help me.

Hey everyone!Our team has built a multi-brand design system that supports three different brand themes, each with both light and dark modes.All our icons are created as unions. This helps preserve the color override when an icon is swapped inside a component. For example: all icons use the “icon” color variable by default, but within a success inline message component, the icon is overridden with the “icon-success” color variable (green), as the icon should always be green in that context. Swapping, say, a checkmark icon with “icon-success” applied for a shield icon retains the correct “icon-success” variable. So far, so good.However, when we re-theme the inline message component from Brand 1 to Brand 2, the icon switches to a different brand-specific variant from the icon component set. Here’s where things break: in component instances, the color override (“icon-success”) is lost during this brand switch, and the icon falls back to the default “icon” c

I am using Make. Two images on the site do not appear when I publish while all the others do. Figma has burned all my credits running circles around the same potential fixes which are primarily around asset hash. What are the reasons this could be happening so I can help Figma think differently?

Hi all,I would like to add the font size Cabinet Grotesk  in figma as it is not recognized so this makes it difficult with optimization to 'hug' the texts in the 'phrames'.  I would like to add the lettertype and I have a file with all the sizes. When I want to add it to settings, in my AI built website, and choose 'Fonts' in my file I read the following: 'No web fonts needs to be uploaded’, see screenshot below.Does anyone know how to solve this? I am out of credits… perhaps this is a problem? I can optimize the text when I change the lettertype in a known font. Or is it recommended to change the font lettertype once transferred to wordpress? Thank you in advance, Vicky

I’m using Figma Professional plan. I tried to give edit access to another person who is also using a professional plan. But it says ‘An admin needs to update this seat so they can edit. How can I resolve it? We don’t belong to the same team. 

Hi guys, I’ve been using Figma make since november, it was so great, efficient, a real life changing solution!But since it became a paid service it’s a real nightmare!! Much less efficient, kind of dumb for basic request. It’s like they want us to ruin the tokens left so we pay for more! Am I the only one having this feeling, I’m sooooooooo disappointed Thanks for your feedback

Working on a multi-module SaaS project — what belongs in the shared UI library vs staying local?I'm a UI/UX designer working on a project basis (not in-house) on a health management SaaS platform with 8+ modules. Each module has its own primary color, unique workflows, and some module-specific components alongside shared ones. The dev team is 6+ full-time developers.I used a design-first approach — designed screens iteratively and built the shared component library alongside as a reference and handoff tool, not as a prerequisite to design.The shared library currently covers foundations (colors, typography, spacing, icons), core primitives (buttons, inputs, tables, modals, badges, progress bars), and patterns that recur across multiple modules.The dev team is now pushing for every new component to go into the shared library — including cards and layout patterns that are unique to a single module. My org is considering purchasing additional AI credits to pilot in a pay-as-you-go purchase. We have multiple cost centers in the org and need a way to create separate pools of credits for each cost center to manage. Is there a way to do that in the admin controls, maybe by user group? Having all additional AI credits in a company-wide pool doesn’t allow us to manage who and how much they can use.I do see how to restrict individual users from accessing the pool (in help center doc but not in my admin panel yet), but I don’t see a way to set a ceiling for how many credits an individual can use from the extra pool. Is that possible? 

Hello Community,We’re looking to upgrade to the Organization plan and would like to purchase 9 Full seats and 4 Developer seats.Our challenge is that, on the Starter plan, there doesn’t appear to be an in‑product way to download a PDF invoice / quote / proformabefore completing the Organization upgrade flow. We understand invoices are only available after purchase under Admin → Billing → Invoices.However, our internal procurement process requires a pre‑payment invoice (or equivalent document) before we can proceed with payment.Has anyone successfully handled this scenario?Were you able to obtain a pre‑payment invoice or quote from Figma? If so, what worked for you? What company details are typically required to appear on the PDF?Any guidance from Community Support specialists or other us

I’m building a portfolio/website using Figma Sites. On my homepage, I have different containers for each project, and my goal is that when I click on a project, instead of opening a new page, it triggers an overlay on top of the homepage showing that project’s text and images.I created an interactive banner using code so I could reuse the same template for every project. Now that I’m starting to replace the content, I’ve realized I need a better way to update the images for each project.Right now, the only method I’ve found is to manually drop the images into the Figma file, convert each one into code, and then copy that code as an import into the original banner so the component knows where the image is coming from.I’m wondering if there’s an easier way to manage this—ideally a place where I can store all my images and update them whenever needed. Everything else on the site can be changed with simple copy/paste, so I’m hoping images can work the same way.

It’s my first question here, so lmk if this is the right approach/format.Here’s my use case:I have two icon component sets consisting of two sizes each I want to use the icons in a button component The icon instance inside the button component is exposed as nested instance I change the icon instance inside the button from checkmark to xClose When changing the button size, it resets the icon instance to the defaultI can’t set the icon instance inside the button as instance swap property either, because I’d have to do it for both icon sizes in both component variants, and then it still doesn’t persist when changing the size of the button component. Any clue if and how this can work inside Figma? I’m using a popover component with a slot. One of the items inside the slot is a fixed-height auto-layout container with a list of items. I want this list to overflow:scroll vertical, however, the prototype scroll options are disabled. I tried nesting this in a new frame and the scroll options are disabled for this new frame as well.I’m trying to avoid breaking the original component and utilize the slot. Is scrolling only preserved for the slot itself or can you embed scrollable items within a slot?Here’s a video showing more detail:  

I am working in Figma Slides on a client presentation that includes videos and images. The setting controls for the videos are not working. They are there but when I click on them nothing changes.When I first started to work on the project a week ago I noticed the settings would change but the buttons wouldn’t, so I would have to keep checking in presentation mode what setting was “on” or “off”. But now, the settings are not changing at all and neither are the buttons.If I click “apply to all videos” the message bubble comes up that the settings have been applied, but nothing else happens. I have submitted a ticket twice to support and they have replied yet with a fix. Has anyone run into this issue and figured out a fix? Help! Client presentation is tomorrow!
