I’m using Figma Professional plan. I tried to give edit access to another person who is also using a professional plan. But it says ‘An admin needs to update this seat so they can edit. How can I resolve it? We don’t belong to the same team.

Thanks for the question. The issue you're facing is likely because Figma plans are team-based, not individual.
Even if the other person has their own Professional plan, they need to be assigned a paid seat in your Professional team to edit your team's files.
The error message you're seeing is prompting you to add them as a paid editor to your team. An admin of your team can resolve this by assigning them a paid seat.

I don’t think its realistic to pay for an unnecessary seat just for edit access when both of us are already paying. I understand this is how Figma product model is but its not helpful at all.
