Hi everyone! I’m redesigning an existing live website (https://buscadordeestatuss.mx/) and trying to decide the most efficient way to bring the current UI into Figma as a baseline for iteration, not as a final or perfect replica.From your experience:Do website-to-Figma import tools provide enough structural and content fidelity to be useful for redesign work?Where do these tools usually fall apart (text hierarchy, spacing, reusable patterns, responsiveness)?For a content-heavy, SEO-driven site, is importing and refactoring faster than rebuilding from screenshots with Auto Layout and components?I’m mainly looking to preserve content structure and intent, while improving clarity, hierarchy, and maintainability in Figma.Would love to hear what’s worked (or failed) for you in similar projects. Hello everyone,I am pretty new to Figma prototyping and have only done basic transitions between pages. I’m working on a case study right now for a redesign, and I want to add more advanced prototyping, but I have no idea where to begin.In my Flow 1, there is the top text field and then the search classes button. If the text field is empty and the user tries to press the search button, I want an overlay of Frame 13, where the field turns red to indicate that it is empty. If the user presses on the empty text field, Frame 15 will overlay over it, meaning that there is a search query in it. Once there is something in the text field, the user can press search classes and it will take them to the next screen. Does anyone know where I can start or if there are any tutorials similar to this prototype?Thank you!!!!

Hello, I am not a designer nor am I a programmer.   I am trying, after not finding someone to help me get my site launched, to navigate figma.  I want to bring in my website pages to do the design work.  I can’t find anything on this, we’ve installed the plug in.   Any ideas would be hugely appreciated. 

Has any one tried using Claude Cowork with Figma yet, and how did it work for you? Have you had issues with it making changes where it shouldn’t, and any ideas on how to mitigate that? Any experience to share is appreciated - thank you! 

Hello all,I’ve found this beautiful file in Figma community, I imported it in my project by following the instructions and it work great.The file is helping to build a form with inputs that are working realistically in a protoype.Each input of the form is created by adding a new mode (5 inputs = 5 modes).However since the original file is created with only 3 modes, it looks like that I am able to make it work only till 3 inputs on my file as well. It doesn’t matter how many modes I will add in my variables.The solution would be to change the variables mode as soon as I import the component in my file, but it’s not possible. Hi Community,We’re experiencing an issue with Figma variables after exporting design tokens via Token Studio and would appreciate your help.Setup: We maintain all our design tokens in a Google Sheet. This sheet is connected to Token Studio, and we regularly push and pull changes between the sheet and Token Studio. We then export these tokens from Token Studio to Figma as variables (and styles). Problem:After exporting, many variables or styles in Figma appear as broken (showing a question mark icon).Although the variables still exist, their values are not correctly resolved.To fix this, we currently have to manually remap the variables or styles each time in Figma in order to see the updated values. This happens repeatedly after exports, which makes maintaining tokens quite difficult.Expected behavior:

I am currently evaluating how Figma can integrate with LLMs like Claude Code for codebase auditing. While I’ve seen demonstrations of AI generating code from visual snapshots, my primary use case is reverse-validation: I have a pre-existing codebase and highly complex flow charts built within Figma that act as the visual blueprint for that logic. Does Figma support - either through the MCP (Model Context Protocol) server or Code Connect - allowing an AI to programmatically parse my prototyping links, layer hierarchy, and flow logic to verify if the actual code implementation accurately reflects the designed user journey? Hi Xiaomi users! We’re aware of an issue that means you may not be able to sign in, we’re working on a long term fix, but in the meantime here is a workaround. Long press on the Figma App icon and select ‘App info’ Select ‘Other permissions’ from the menu Ensure ‘Display pop-up windows while running in the background’ is set to ‘Always allow’ You should now be able to successfully log in Here’s a walkthrough video

Hi,I previously had a Figma account verified with the Education plan using my university email. Due to a technical issue, I had to delete that account.I created a new Figma account with the same institutional email and re-verified my student status through SheerID, but the system keeps saying that the Education plan has already been redeemed.Since the original verified account no longer exists, this issue can’t be resolved by SheerID alone and requires a manual reset on Figma’s side.Could a moderator or support agent please help escalate this or advise on restoring the Education plan to my current account?Thank you.

I am getting a message that says “Library assets may need to be republished for modename mode to show.” There is also a little icon next to the mode name in all of my files when selecting a palette mode. We use a single design system file that has all of our variables and the other palettes don’t seem to have the same problem. The error message is not very helpful and I have cleaned up all of the files and resolved everything I can find but this message never goes away. Can anyone help me understand what is going on? I have included a couple of images as an example of what I am seeing.

I created my Figma account yesterday and recently verified it as a student account. However, I’m currently unable to access Dev Mode, which I was hoping to use to better understand the design-to-code workflow. I also tried creating a team first and then upgrading it, but the option was not free as expected.Given this situation, I would like to ask whether schools are supposed to have an education plan that includes full access to Figma features such as Dev Mode for students. I want to make sure I’m not missing a required step or institutional setup to properly access these tools.

Hi everyone,I’ve been struggling with a prototyping issue for several hours and haven’t been able to figure out a solution. Hoping someone here has encountered a similar problem or has a workaround.Setup: I have a button component that contains only an icon (also a component), and the icon is set up to be swappable via instance swap. This button is used inside a navigation component, which has two variants (expanded/collapsed). Each variant is supposed to use a different icon inside the button — a left oriented arrow for expanded state and a right oriented arrow for collapsed state. In design mode, everything works as expected. Switching between the navigation variants shows the correct icon in the button.

 As you can see from my screen record, I have two images, both in the form of png. But I cannot figure out why the two would behave differently even though I haven’t messed around with the settings, and I want to know how to get consistent behavior, specifically I want both of my images to act like the second image where the image will follow and adjust with the size and not get cropped or zoomed in.

Hey all, I am finally getting round to trialing out Code Connect, Figma MCP and the like to see how it all works and if there are any noticeable benefits to these features for my wider team.I had some issues initially setting up, but have finally gotten to the point where I can connect them to GitHub, for testing  purposes I am using the Figma Design System and corresponding coded components. However when connected, I get this error, and I am unsure how to fix it. Has anyone come across this before, and any advice on how to resolve? Thanks!  

I've been having a very weird issue in Figma recently. When trying to move objects in a Frame it blocks me for some reason, but it does let me move around a couple of objects on the top. Objects outside of this frame are able to be moved freely. And if I move the order in the layers section then it works (the frame has auto layout on).Does anyone know why this is happening and how to resolve this issue? https://imgur.com/a/PKxFTs2

Hi,I'm a newbie with Figma and need help figuring out why my site is displaying differently online versus what it shows me in the view option in Figma Sites. The first screenshot is how Figma Sites shows me how it will look. It has already been published, so it is updated. The second screenshot is how it actually looks online. It adds a bunch of white space to the right. Instead of extending it across the screen. How can I fix this? Thank you for your help in advance.

I'm thinking about building my portfolio using Figma Sites, but before I start, I wanted to ask: does Figma allow you to password-protect specific pages or projects? I’d like to make some sections private or only accessible to certain people.

I recently started using the paid plan of Fima. I am still learning all the new features i got with the professional plan. Yesterday i found out that i cannot access the first draft ai feature from the action tab as shown in the tutorial videos.

How do I get these tools in the top menu like this YT user who created a Component? Or is his a paid plan? Cheers.

Hi!Suddenly a icon component (with around 15 variants) doens’t allow recoloring, while any other component has no issues.using icon instance > recoloring doesn't work for any of the variants. all icons are in one layer with same layer name detached it as component > recoloring is fine created an independent component > recoloring is fine added it back to the icon set > recoloring doesn't work anymore Any idea what it can be?

My company has a comprehensive component library which I am trying to have imported into Figma make. One of our designers has run the export following the instructions, and those who have edit access to the component library can see it in Figma make. However I just have viewing access but I still can’t see it - I can’t tell if it’s a bug or I’m just missing the correct permissions? Do I need to be a member of the team where the library is published? I get a bit lost with all the Figma access/permissions.

Sometimes it happens that I accidentally misclick and lock the layer/frame.Then I wonder why I cannot click on the layer to select it… in my case so frequent:)If figma UI provide visual feedback, I mean notification “Frame is locked” when rage clicking on it - that would be really clear
