Suggest a Feature

the idea is simple. often times I am creating a design, in witch two objects share a curve/edge, but have a different fill color. the only way to make the different fill color is to create two separate objects, but then later on if you have to edit the line you have to edit all instances of the object. or sometimes I have the same object that I want two different fill colors on, and again I have to make two separate objects. the same goes for strokes. so, I sujust that there be some way to within one object have totally different fills and strokes. there is already a way to have multiple fills, but they only layer on top of each other with different opacities, and same with strokes. I think that the different fills and things could be added using this same UI, witch would also allow the mixing of different fills as well. you could also apply / remove the different fills to different area using something similar to the new paint / bucket fill tool. anyways, I know this might be a bit ch

I am using Figma from almost 2 years. It’s a great tool. Previously I was using Windows 10 yet recently switched to Linux(Ubuntu). Figma doesn’t have any official release for Linux. There are some Unofficial desktop versions but they are “BUGGY”. I request you guys to release an official Figma desktop app for Linux.

Currently, if I try to use a vector image as a fill, Figma tells me that it can’t use vector images as fills. Can that be changed?

Currently, when using variables, in the settings you can’t select wether you want a value (for example, padding-sm) to apply to just the padding or the gap of an auto layout. Which means that when you want to select a gap variable, it shows all the padding values as well. Can we get a setting for this?

It’s a great idea when I start a dialogue in Figma with other designers to give them the opportunity to invite them into the conversation. Some kind of sound signal or popup so that they can hear that I am calling them to talk 🤙. like a phone call. accept or reject. Only for participants who are currently working in the same file. But in the future it is possible to call me to a specific file and talk there. And I will immediately get into the conversation on the file that I am invited to. Because every time I go to a private chat on Telegram or Skype and ask them to talk to me in Figma.

When exporting designs with embedded videos from Figma (Slides) to PDF, the exported file currently shows only the first frame of each video. This creates issues, especially for logo animations or other motion graphics where the first frame may be empty or visually uninformative (e.g., logos that fade or draw in). Suggestion:Allow users to define a custom preview frame (poster frame) for each video element. This frame would be used as the static image in PDF exports (and possibly thumbnails or slides), ensuring clearer visual communication in offline or static formats. This would greatly improve PDF exports without requiring manual workarounds like overlaying screenshots.

Hi! Turning off “snap to pixel grid” in a Figma Design file no longer changes snapping behavior when dragging frames around. Whether this feature is turned on or off, a dragged frame still snaps to each pixel, no matter how zoomed-in. Note that some other objects (e.g., vector objects) still respect this setting. It’s just an issue with frames, components, and component instances. Note that If I group the frame, I then can drag the group to any sub-pixel location. I’ve restarted my machine, restarted Figma, checked for updates, reloaded tabs, tried it in other design files. Tried it in the client, in Chrome, and in Safari. Same problem. Can anyone else replicate this?

hey there! variables seems to be super nice but what i am missing is that if i make a colour alias to a specific collection - i can’t set the opacity separately (e.g. colour 50 with 20% opacity) So basically i want the colouyr to be from another collection and i want to set the alpha seperatly (controlled as rgba - since i dont need it as opacity) Example how we can fix this in token studio: So what i want is that i can set blue/5 and then the opacity (which i dont want to capture in another colour variable) Now its only possible if i break the link with gray/75 - and then i loose the reference to that colour

I think you are on the right track with Figma Make with the recent feature of being able to select a design system library. However, if you take this a few more steps I think you might have something: Expand the definition of a Figma design library object to include design system concerns including: design components, design tokens, and guidelines (general usage, component usage, accessibility compliance, motion, etc.) - similar to what you can add to the Guidelines.md file. Allow designers to edit all of these concerns in Figma, attaching them to their design system. When the user selects a design library in Figma Make all of those concerns come with it. Think of it as a schema or blueprint for building components and applications. Provide the ability to connect to existing production (React, Angular, Web Components, etc.) components in GitHub so that designer prototypes are rendered with a very high level of accuracy and fidelity. Hi Figma team, I recently created a Figma site for my app and really love the experience. However, I need to upload a file called app-ads.txt to the root of my domain. This file is required by AdMob to verify ownership of the app and allow us to display ads. Is there any way to host or upload this file directly in a Figma site? Thanks in advance!

I am an Admin within my organization and love that I am able to filter within the “People” tab, but wish I had the ability to select multiple options under each. For example, I often want to look at Full, Dev, and Collab under seat types as I do not need to see “View” seat types. But I am only able to select one of these at a time and then need to unselect and select the next one.

My colleague was relying on version history and started flattening shapes for an illustration. It would be great when you select flatten from the menu that Figma would save the state before executing the flatten action.

A very common way for me to share motion prototypes in an accessible way across my org is dropping it into a deck in Google Slides. I’ve found the best way to do this is to create a prototype (device: none), screen record that prototype using QuickTime, and then convert the .mov to a .gif using GIF Brewery 3. This process works pretty well. The primary downside is that the only way to get a touch cursor in the prototype is to set the device to a mobile device, which then includes the device chrome. This is not ideal for screen recording and creating a .gif as it increases the file and image size. A simple way of solving this would be to include cursor settings in top-level prototype settings that includes a choice of either a touch cursor or a pointer cursor (this is similar to how Principle does it: View->Toggle Preview Cursor Type). While this would solve for my specific use case, I also think it allows people to create more robust prototypes for touch devices that excludes device-sp

Figma should allow customization of the message shown to users requesting a seat. We have specific eligibility requirements, and currently, I have to manually follow up with each requester to confirm their eligibility. This creates unnecessary administrative overhead, especially with multiple administrators involved.

I think it would be handy if, when publishing a library, I could easily select/deselect: All variables, All text styles All effect styles All layout guide styles All other (ie. components)

Automatically add page numbers to the selected slide in Figma based on Slide position. Maybe we can select any text and give it the numbering option?

I get so many bogus requests for Dev seats from our team members who accidentally click the request button because of how it is placed in the UI. It is very annoying. Could you please make it so that once a request is denied a member can’t re-request Dev seat?

Has anyone found a way to copy, transfer or move the new local variables to another file or collection? Just created around 400 color variables manually in the wrong file and would hate having to re-create them in the correct one 😅

Hi Figma Team, I’m a regular Figma user and truly appreciate how powerful and intuitive your design tools are. One thing I’ve often felt limited by during prototyping is the lack of a smooth scroll experience — especially when simulating navigation or scroll-to-section flows. It would be amazing if we could have true smooth scrolling, similar to how real websites behave (with easing, momentum, and natural flow). This would greatly help us mimic real-world experiences more accurately during prototype testing. Hope this is something you consider for future updates. Thanks for all the great work!

Now that we have variables support for text styles, it’s taking a while to update all the properties to match text variables. It’d be really, really helpful to be able to apply variables to multiple text styles at once, by selecting all font styles that we want to apply a variable to and editing the property, since most of these are shared between different styles. With that feature, text migration to variables would be super easy and seamless.

Sidebar sections are crucial for our team. We recently downgraded from Organization to Professional and the sidebar sections were removed. I understand they are only for Organization and Enterprise plans, but I ask that you make them available to all paid plans, since there are many organizations with smaller teams who cannot afford Organization or Enterprise plans.

Right now, the “Update from main file” modal is the least helpful modal imaginable: No indication of what or where the conflict is. All I see is a zoomed-out view of my “Layout & Content” library page with nothing highlighted or listed out anywhere. And with this information, I have to choose whether to keep these changes or keep my branch. I manage a design system for a team of 10 designers, split up into 3 pods. This is a nightmare every time. Items with changes should be highlighted, and those changes should also be listed on the left-hand side. Edit: And would you look at that, I chose to keep the branch, arbitrarily, and the next screen actually shows me what the update involves! Why wouldn’t this be on the first screen? (I’ve edited out the content for NDA reasons) Now I actually have to go back to the previous screen and choose again if I’ve made a mistake.
