Adobe Illustrator has this very nice feature where you can tell Illustrator that you want to focus on editing a specific group of objects. Once you are in ‘isolation mode,’ other objects in the canvas are dimmed, and you will only be able to select and modify objects at that level and below. For example, when you were in isolation mode, you could drag the selection marque over a set of objects and you wouldn’t accidentally select objects from other groups (e.g. using Command + drag in Figma will select items in other groups). This is SO convenient, and it’s the biggest thing I miss from switching to Figma. I would love to see a feature implemented in Figma that copies this Illustrator functionality — it is easily my number one feature request.
