In the past when building components, the hover and tap targets where always the same size as the component itself. For example, in a list where the hover or tap area should span the full width of the page, the component itself needed to be full-width. So to improve the life of our developers we wanted to transitions from using components with built in margin to allow setting the margin externally. However, the challenge was how to ensure the component would still have a hover/tap target that spanned the full width. I couldn’t find any suggestions online, but after a lot of fiddling and hacking, I discovered a surprisingly simple solution. I wanted to share it here in case others have faced similar challenges: Solution Step 1: Create a layout using auto layout so that the component can scale as needed based on the content. Hi everyone, I’ve noticed something over the past few weeks that feels like a UX regression, and possibly even a bug. Before, when working with elements like a button frame, I could add properties like Fill, Stroke, and others by clicking anywhere in the gray area of that section on the right panel. I didn’t have to aim precisely at the small + button or the label. It felt smooth and natural, and helped me move quickly. Recently, that behavior changed. Now, I have to click directly on the + button or the property label. Clicking the gray area does nothing. It may seem like a small thing, but over time it creates micro-friction. When you add that up across many interactions, and for many users, it becomes a noticeable slowdown. One reason I think this might be a bug is because the Export section still works the old way. While working on a file, when I collapse all layers (OPT+L), it seems like Figma starts syncing the file, which makes it extremely slow for a few moments. I didn’t have this problem in the past.
Hi all. I have a couple of frames that have placed image in. I want to export as .svg format. I can see the image in the preview and on the preview of the .svg. But when I open the .svg in adobe illustrator the image isnt there and just should a blank box… Any ideas? It worked fine in sketch before.
Hi, I have this issue in multiple Figma files. If I move frames with comments to another page, the comments still appear on the original page whenever the file is opened. The comments only disappear when navigating to the “moved” page and navigating back. This is really cumbersome because often the page in which frames with comments are moved to is a very large page which takes a long time to load. Also, engineers who are working off of the original page get confused about the comments that were moved and are not relevant to them.
When I write create long paragraphs with text tool on the Figma I get the unnecessary spaces on edges of the paragraph like below. But I think if there a hyphenation feature (like Adobe Photoshop) it could add dashes automatically on the texts and fix this issue. So, what do you think about this feature feedback?
Hello, we have a huge issue with slots in our design system. From one day to the other, without any reason our slots in components are treated like they have been overridden (e.g. border color, bg color, ...). Those styles are then inherited to swapped components. You can be 100% sure that we didn’t customise the slots and all components have been tested extensively before, so why do they now have overrides? Where do the come from? What has changed in Figma? The only solution is to go through all components in the system and reset the slots. Honestly Figma should save time not add additional work on our shoulders … Hope you can help us to find out what is causing this issue in Figma and how we can prevent such things in the future. I understand the limitations of support for Starter accounts, but I'm reaching out again because this is not a minor issue — a critical file I worked on for months has disappeared without explanation! It's not in Trash, wasn’t deleted, and no team was removed. The file simply vanished, and I’m left without a trace except for a screenshot of the design. This is deeply frustrating! I had been seriously considering upgrading to a paid plan, but this lack of support in a time of real need has made me lose trust in your platform. I’ll now be exploring other providers who offer more reliable service and accountability. Please escalate this message internally. Losing user data without any accountability is not acceptable.

I don’t know how to do prototype between text input and opening user’s account of this app.For example,If I want to log in my account in this app,I should insert text in such strings as login and password and after this my account opens. Hi, I have a component with an animation in it that runs automatically (after delay). When I use an instance of my component in a Figma slide, it only animates the first time the slide opens. I want it to run everytime the slide opens. Can this be done somehow?
I can no longer copy one line of CSS out of dev view. I now have to use the clipboard icon to copy all the CSS and paste it into my file, then delete what I don’t need. I have added stills showing basics. I am on a Mac Sequoia 15.3.1, using Figma in Firefox Dev 139.0b5. It seems to be ok in Chrome, but that is irrelevant, unfortunately, as process is dependent on Firefox Dev.
