You can do that right now: https://forum.figma.com/ask-the-community-7/how-to-delete-a-variant-property-26406?postid=51847#post51847 But there is a couple of problems: 1. You will lose the component description 2. It doesn't feel right in general having to do it this way (moving the variant out of the component) when you should be able to do it the same way you can ungroup elements.

I already created a post to suggest this feature, but then I realized I created it as a question and I recreated it to make it a conversation instead. I’m going to ask admins to delete that post for me so we can keep this one instead.
Sorry for the long message, but it's really important, so I wanted to share the full story. I believe the option to trigger auto width and auto height text resizing via the command palette was unintentionally overlooked. This feature fits naturally with other text-related actions already available in the palette and should be included for consistency and usability. Adding it would not impact the UI or workflow for anyone who doesn’t use it, but for those who do, it can be a significant efficiency gain. It’s a small fix with meaningful benefits, and optional shortcut support would be a welcome addition. Currently, for every text element, we have to manually change the default resizing settings. On UI screens with many text boxes, this becomes a repetitive and inefficient process that adds unnecessary clicks and slows down the workflow. Adding a command to the command palette for auto width and auto height would solve this without affecting the interface or existing behavior. It’s a non-
When adding a new asset frame in Figma Buzz, it comes with a pre-baked drop shadow that can’t be removed since there’s no Effects panel. So when exporting for an instagram post, for example, it adds unnecessary space to the post. My only workaround is copying all my asset frames into a regular Figma design file to remove the drop shadows, and then exporting from that Figma design file.
My client and I are having issues when viewing a Figma prototype on our mobile phones. I have tried in different browsers as well as the Figma app and it always looks the same. It works fine on desktop but everything on mobile looks like the attached screenshot. I have tried a bunch of troubleshooting options I have found in the community but nothing seems to work. Has anyone experienced anything like this before?
The prototype looks fine on desktop, but when I view it on mobile, the fonts look strange and all the elements appear wavy or distorted.
Hey, when im starting prototype on my windows desctop app, my font looks normal , but when i am turning on the same file on android phone , or ios tablet the text appears distorted.Im using “Delight” font The font looks fine when I’m designing, but when I view the prototype, the text appears distorted or uses a different font entirely. I’ve tried clearing my cache, restarting Figma, and even reinstalling the font, but the problem persists. Has anyone else faced this issue before? Are there any specific settings I should check, or is there a workaround? I’d appreciate any advice or suggestions on how to resolve this! Thanks in advance! 🙏
Hi Figma Community, I’m experiencing an issue with font rendering in my Figma prototype, and I could really use some help! I'm trying to use existing Figma layouts to generate code via Figma MCP and Cursor. In general it's working really well, but I've noticed that when I select the whole screen layout, the `get_code` tool from MCP simply gets stuck or takes minutes to run (but I can't know wether it's stuck or just slow). Is there a recommended way to either make get_code run faster or to use the MCP in a more efficient way?
I’m trying to use Figma MCP But keeps getting server error 500 when using get_image
