If you can still view the design file, you can either duplicate to your drafts, or save a local copy.
Hi Brenton! Thanks for reaching out to the community and sharing the context, that’s super helpful.
As driftingsteps mentioned, if you still have access to the file (view access), try duplicating it to your own Drafts. Once it’s in your Drafts, you’ll be the owner of the new version and can move it freely to your new team or share it as needed.
Still, if you can’t access the file at all anymore, reaching out to the current team admin would be the best next step. They can either transfer ownership or temporarily re-add you so you can duplicate the file.
I also saw your message to our support team on the backend and have gone ahead and escalated it internally. For reference, your support ticket number is #1398013.
If the steps above don’t resolve the issue, feel free to reply directly to your support ticket with the file URL — that’ll give the team what they need to take a closer look on their end. Thanks again!
Yes, I was able to duplicate the file and use the copy. But there is still a matter of my work being a part of a team it doesn’t belong to. I would prefer a “move” so the file isn’t accessible to anyone but me.
Thanks for the follow-up, Brenton, I completely understand wanting full control over your work! Really appreciate the feedback, we will share it with our team internally for consideration.
In the meantime, if you’d like the original file removed from the old team, you can reach out to the team admin and ask them to delete it.
