Dear Figma Support Team,

I'm experiencing slow performance with the Figma Desktop App on my MacBook Pro (2019, Intel UHD Graphics 630 & AMD Radeon Pro 5300M, MacOS 13.7.1). File loading often takes up to 5 minutes, causing system-wide lag. I've tried the official troubleshooting methods, including clearing the cache, but the issue persists.

I have disabled the "Automatic graphics switching" option in the system settings to ensure the dedicated GPU is used. But I noticed the integrated GPU is at near 100% usage during loading, while the discrete GPU remains inactive.

Thank you for your assistance.

Best regards

Hey Qian - I’m sorry you are experiencing this. We did identify a problematic change last week that was quickly rolled back but a number of users are still experiencing it on tabs that have not be reloaded. Can you try and reload and see if the issue persists, and if it does, you can reach out to me direct and I’ll help ensure we get to the bottom of it. Our support team is here to help put us in touch (support@figma.com), and you can also try to reach me via X (@kris_rasmussen).

Thanks in advance.

I completely agree. I have the same model and the performance is extremely slow. I’ve reloaded Figma as well but haven’t restarted my system. I purged cache, ran the periodic maintenance scripts, and it’s severely slowing my computer down.

Hi @kosterstrudel @Neo V, thanks for flagging!

As Dylan announced, the root cause for spike should be fixed; you might be prompted to refresh your tabs.

If you’re still experiencing issues, please let us know so we can get to the bottom of it: https://figma.bot/submitreport
