Inspection tab not showing

I alternately work on my laptop and my desktop computer. I worked with Figma on my laptop computer, and the ‘Inspect’ panel was showing. Now I installed Figma on my laptop computer, and I can access the project I was working on, but the ‘Inspect’ panel doesn’t show. I can use the ‘View’ menu to show both the ‘Design’ and the ‘Prototype’ panel, but not the ‘Inspect’ panel. What’s wrong?

Have you enabled the dev mode that Figma introduced yesterday?
The inspect tab can be found there now.

When DevMode is no longer free will they bring back the Inspect tab like it was before?

I’m not able to move objects when I have dev mode open to look at the Inspection tab. I need to be able to view spacing between objects when I’m working. Has anyone figured out how to do this or am I missing something? This is a major block for me to be able to do work.

I can’t switch to dev mode, they try to sell me their “professional account” when I click it. Does it mean Figma free tier is unusable now? (I just want to download a background imge ffs ...)
