Great to have nested folders now, but there is a major flaw and some inconsistencies. Moving files popup — We like to create a top level folder for a project and inside of it an __Archive folder for old files. This works very well on our server but in Figma, when moving a file, the popup does not show the path of the folders, see screenshot. That means we end up with many __Archive folders listed and no way of knowing which project that archive belongs to. Renaming inconsistency — Renaming from within a folder brings up a popup, while doing the same from the parent folder does it in place. Not critical but inconsistent.

Hello,I have a component with a shared text property accross all variants.I want the hover state to be underline, so I apply underline to the hover variant.But since it’s sharing a common text property, the underline apply to all variants.Is that a bug ? or a bad feature ?I’m not sure but that’s really annoying

I’m using Slot feature for the icon part of our button component. Since our icons come from an external source, Slots make it easy to swap in different icons as needed.However, when I replace the Slot icon, the button’s hover state still shows the default icon instead of the replaced one.Is there a way to make the hover state reflect the swapped icon?   

I have several components in my library that change to a Hovered state while hovering. This interaction works correctly in the library itself and looks like this:  When adding the component to a different file, the interaction defaults to the Enabled state, which it’s already in. It then looks like this:  This is happening to a lot of components, including components that previously worked fine. 

See screenshot above. I have assigned a variable with 0% opacity to the underline colour of a text style, but when applied to text, it ignores the opacity. This only happens if opacity is 0%. If I input another value and set it to 1%, 50% etc. it renders correctly so this seems like a bug?Would appreciate if this could be fixed, so I don’t have to make work arounds that aren’t in line with dev. Thanks!

A shared file is suddenly giving the error message: Unable to open file It looks like there’s an issue with this Design file’s sharing settings. We’ve emailed the owner to let them know.  But no one, including the owner of the file, is able access it so we have no idea who is being emailed and who is able to restore permissions to all of us. I’ve submitted a ticket (2130963) but we need this file restored incredibly urgently. Thank you !!

Hello, I’m an undergraduate student and I’ve been trying to join the education plan for figma and its unable to be verified. I don’t understand what is wrong… I’m using my student email, personal computer and not using any vpn. My collegues were able to use the education plan and got verified and im doing the exact same steps. I already reached out to the SheerID verification supports team but still did not hear from them. i need urgent help please.

Hi,Details as requested. This is a Community publishing restriction on my account, not a file issue. Steps to reproduce:  1. Figma desktop app, signed in as [redacted by moderator to remove personal information]  2. Figma menu > Plugins > Manage plugins (Resources > Plugins tab)  3. Select GitFig (Community plugin ID [redacted by moderator to remove personal information]) > Next, or the "..." menu > Publish new version  4. The publish form opens; the footer shows in red: "We detected a change to your account details. Please contact support@figma.com to proceed"  5. Hi,In the Figma web app, my component appears to be correctly connected to code using the Code Connect CLI. However, in Figma MCP:get_code_connect_map returns {}, both with and without codeConnectLabel: "React". get_design_context returns generated/raw layout code instead of the connected Code Connect component or snippet. get_code_connect_suggestions also reports nested components as not connected.The component is part of our internal component library, which is consumed by our projects.It seems that the Code Connect mappings are visible in the Figma web app but are not being recognized by Figma MCP.

Hello Figma Support Team,I am experiencing an issue with Figma Prototype animations.I created a button animation using multiple frames and Smart Animate. The button design itself is working correctly, but when I run the prototype, the animation/transition does not behave as expected.I have already tried:• Recreating the frames• Reconnecting the prototype interactions• Using Smart Animate• Checking the trigger and transition settings• Checking layer names and layer structure• Recreating the button components• Testing the prototype multiple timesHowever, the issue still persists.I have attached screenshots showing my frames and prototype setup for reference.Could you please check whether this is a Figma prototype/Smart Animate bug or if there is any setting or workflow that I am missing?If required, I can also provide the Figma file/prototype link for further investigation.Please let me know how I can resolve this issue.Thank you,RAJESH

I can download the Figma file, open the loader, put Figma in the Applications folder (please note, I’m already doing this), then let it run the install. When the install finishes and I double click the app to launch it from inside the Applications folder, I get the error “The application “Figma.app” can’t be opened.”I trouble shot this as far as I could, even going into terminal and running a sequence of checks - here’s what that shows. Hello! I have been part of a Figma for Education plan at various points while I have been in school, using the Figma account that I have always used (which is attached to my gmail address). I, in fact, am currently on a Figma for Education plan using this account. However, when I go to try to re-verify (because I’m still in school) it will not allow me to even apply with my current account because it is not tied to my institutional e-mail. All my work is attached to my current Figma account and I don’t want to set up a new one with my university login just to re-verify; this especially makes no sense to me as I currently have access to an Education plan using my gmail address. Talking to the stupid AI assistant obviously did nothing. Is there genuinely no way to extend the education status that *legitimately exists on my current account* without creating an entirely new one?

My figma student plan wont renew after all the verifications. Issues with sheerID, it says i would get a response in 20 minutes but nothing after 4 hours.

When applying any default/built-in shader via Fill → Shader OR Effects → Shader on the Figma desktop app, nothing renders on canvas and no shader panel appears for me. We are trying to use our internal React packages in Figma Make, but its not working due to Figma Make using React 18, and our packages require React 19. The AI has tried to upgrade but its saying that React 18 is bundled with the preview iframe and cannot be upgraded. How can I get around this?

there’s currently this weird issue on my Figma Site: when I edit an attribute in an Interaction, it doesn’t display the value I entered, always reset to the previous value constantly. When I back out and load the window again it then display the latest value correctly, but if I enter a new value then, the bug loop continue.

Hi Figma Support,My account is on a Starter plan with a View seat.I understand from Figma’s MCP documentation that Starter accounts have up to 20 MCP tool calls per month, separate from Figma AI credits.My Figma AI balance still shows 500 monthly credits remaining and 150/150 daily credits remaining, but the ChatGPT/Figma MCP integration is now rate-limited.Could a Figma Support Specialist please confirm:How many MCP tool calls my account has used in the current period. Whether I have reached the 20-call Starter MCP limit. The exact date and time when my MCP allowance will reset. Whether there is any page where I can see my MCP usage myself. Double-clicking a text layer won’t let me edit it. The layer is not locked. This issue seemed to be resolved in past for other users, but the solution has not been mentioned in the thread. I am first time coming across this issue. Please guide.

Hello, I'm now using a new Claude account that I've connected to Figma. However, when I ask Claude to directly edit a file in Figma, it tells me it can't, because it only has read-only access. Everything worked fine with my old account, but I feel like I've set exactly the same settings. Could someone help me out? Thank you!
