Convert Monthly user to a Annual seat thats available?

When trying to right size our seat allocations, we cannot switch a monthly billing cycle of a user over to an available annual seat, with out adding a new seat to our annual subsprction.
Couldn’t find any procedure to change this over.

All you had to do was assign people around to different seats and when you assigned them back to the expected set, they would be on the annual plan not the monthly….

It sounds like you’re looking for a way to automatically add a paid seat to your annual subscription when there isn’t an available annual seat at the time you assign a paid seat to a user.

 

As you’ve noticed, when additional paid seats are added during an annual subscription term, those seats are billed on a separate monthly subscription by default unless they’re explicitly added to the annual subscription. This is designed to give teams flexibility when some users only need access for a shorter period of time.

That said, I understand that this workflow may present challenges when managing seat allocations, and I’ll share your feedback with our team.

I have an annual plan, and added a second seat, but there was no option for annual payment. In my dashboard, if I click on my added user, I see “Billing cycle” but it is locked. There was no option when adding them, and I don’t see any option to change that. If possible, I would like to pay annually, whether pro-rated or not.

Thanks Junko! I am placing this info here, as I searched and could not find this specific information:

Monthly Seats can be converted to Annual 30-days before Annual Renewal

  1. Thirty days before your annual plan is set to renew, you’ll see a banner at the top of your Figma admin. Click Review seats to open a modal to adjust the number of seats on your plan for your next renewal.
  2. From the modal, add or remove the number of seats by seat type to renew on your annual subscription.
  3. If you have seats that are currently being billed on a monthly subscription, adding additional annual seats will convert those monthly seats into annual seats once the renewal is finalized.
