When I attach an image to the prompt window and send it with a prompt, it can not locate the image! Can’t do anything swapping or create a new section with image! Help!

I also have the same issue, as you can see even though I attach a screenshot, Figma does not see that.

Hey @Ana Kang, thanks for reaching out!

When Figma Make says it can't locate an image you've attached, it's usually tied to how the file made it into the prompt, the file itself, or something specific to that file. A few quick things that'll help us pin this down:

  1. How you're attaching it, are you using Add context in the prompt box, then Add images and files, or dragging the file straight into the chat?
  2. Can you give me a screenshot of the message.
  3. File details, what format is the image (PNG, JPEG, GIF, SVG), and roughly how large is it?
  4. Does this happen in every Figma Make file you work in, or just this one?
  5. Is this happening in the browser, the desktop app, or both?

It's also worth trying a refresh and reattaching the image to a new prompt, since that can resolve one-off attachment issues.

For more on supported formats, size limits, and best practices for attachments, here's our guide: Attach files to a prompt in the Figma agent and Figma Make.

Thank you,

I am having the exact same issue. I can see the thumbnail in the AI chat section of Figma Make, but the AI cannot view it, explains there’s no actual upload and the imports folder doesn’t have it. This is a new issue, I have not changed my habits at all, it worked fine prior to today.
Edit: I’m on the Figma desktop app on MacOS. I have completely closed and restarted Figma as well to no avail.

Hey @dhsdesign - thank you for reporting. Can you share a screen recording of how this is appearing for you? I’m looking into this right now, and I’d like to compare perspectives. Thank you!

Update for context: I’m not able to replicate on the desktop app for mac, but I want to see if I’m not triggering it the same way you are

Same issue here! Just started happening after I updated. Steps to replicate:

  • Drag file into prompt window or select “+”, select Upload files. I select the screenshot i want to attach. The screenshot loads and I see a preview of it - all expected behavoir. But once I send the screenshot with a prompt, Figma make responds with “No — nothing came through for this message either. The screenshots aren't reaching me.” “They didn't land in the imports folder either “
  • I’ve tried dragging and dropping and upload files option, neither worked. The only way it works is if I drag n drop the asset into the files folder.
  • Running Figma desktop, macOS Tahoe 26.6.2
  • Edit: Just tried Figma browser, still not working.

Thanks very much! I’ve been trying to replicate this, but haven’t been able to. If I drag a photo or add it from the + menu, any prompt that I run processes as expected 🤔

Is this only in one particular file you’re using, or does this all error out in a new Make file as well?

Nope, none of my Figma Make files work. Even new ones.
