I designed some UI screens a few months ago, today when I came back and suddenly kept duplicating frames, FIgma would freeze and automatically enter Recovery mode, you guys can try going to this link and duplicating this frame 😀[redacted]

Hi everyone, I’m running into some confusing behavior with Auto Layout sizing when using nested Hug and Fill settings, and I’d love some clarity on whether this is expected. Here’s the setup: I have a parent frame with its width set to 100 and its width sizing set to Hug. Inside it, there are three child nodes: two text nodes and one frame node. The two text nodes are set to Fill, and the frame node is set to Hug. Now, here’s where it gets strange: When I change the frame node from Hug to Fill, the entire element’s width increases to match the width of the longest text node. This seems unexpected, because the parent frame already has a defined width of 100 and is set to Hug, so I would think that should take priority. Even more confusing, if I set one of the smaller text nodes from Fill to Hug, the overall width decreases — it looks like that takes precedence over the fill sizing, which doesn’t fully make sense to me.  Is this the expected behavior? Hi everyone,I recently noticed that Figma Sites now allows us to embed video directly into frames, as follow:  This looks like a really useful feature for adding richer content.However, I am running into a problem: The video displays and loops fine. But the sound does not play at all, no matter what settings I choose. I have tried enabling “Play Sound” and disabling “Mute,” but the video remains silent. Has anyone else encountered this issue? Is there a workaround or a known limitation with Figma Sites’ video embed? Or could this be a bug in the current release?Would really appreciate if anyone from the community (or the Figma team) could clarify whether sound on video embeds is officially supported yet.Thanks in advance!

HiA few of my students keep receiving the message “an admin needs to update a seat so they can get access” (with a red exclamation mark next to it).I am currently using the free Edu plan, and at the moment there are about 38 Collab seats already taken. The students experiencing this issue have attempted verification, and their status is showing as Collab, but they are still unable to gain access.Could you please advise on the solution or next steps? Is this related to a seat limitation, or is there something else that needs to be updated on my end? What exactly? Thank you very much for your help! 

 Im currently a student at the University of Cincinnati in the DAAP program. One of my main issues with Figma at the moment is the verification of the education plan. I've been told to contact SheerID, but after numerous replies and sending support email tickets, I've also been ignored about resetting my verification. I desperately need Figma for the current assignments Im working on, and my college professors are giving me less and less time to get this issue resolved. Can you guys please do something to help me out, because every time I send in an image of a government-issued ID, like drivers license, it's not getting verified. Please help me out, I desperately need Figma or else im out of luck and losing grades.  

I made a totally logical variable/conditional setup and it doesn’t seem to work on desktop prototype: Test-input-visible” is a boolean variable property, while “text-input” is a string variable propertySo I thought I was wrong about the set up so I asked Chatgpt: Chatgpt’s prompt responseSo, just to confirm if I made a mistake, I make a simpler interaction to test it out: Simple prototype setBut I am still facing the same issue in prototype mode:  Simpler interaction in Prototype mode I also set it to “on click”  Sampler animation state to “on click”so I can try it out on mobile and works. (I used my Bluetooth mouse to test it out) but not on desktop: Prototype on mobileHave I done anything wrong? is this a bug? how do I solve this problem??

I am working on a white label product, where we have a set default mode for our product (purple colours) & we use modes for branding.We have what we consider core tokens and then component tokens.In the Core tokens, all brands are linked with their proper swatches.When I am “remapping” a component token though, all swatches preview values of the purple default colourBut, when you break the swatch, the correct hex value is displayed, per brand. Also, when switching between modes (brands), on the side bar, the swatches change based on the brandThis problem appeared 2 weeks ago, after I updated FIGMA, but this is also happening in the desktop app as well.I believe it is due to the default mode being set as default, since when I switch the other brands to default the same happens.Is this a UI bug, or is it something that can affect the actual variables and therefore the exported json that we give to our dev team?Apart from this being very difficult for us to work with, it poses a possi

Hi everyone,I recently subscribed to Figma’s $5/month annual plan ($36/year) for personal use. Yesterday, I was accidentally charged $190 after approving a team member when I only wanted them to view a file.I noticed the mistake within a couple of hours, immediately removed the person, and submitted a refund request.Since this just happened, I’m wondering: Has anyone here had a similar experience? Were you able to get a refund or credit back? How long did Figma support take to respond? This amount is quite significant for me financially, so I really hope they can make an exception. I can’t find the italic versions of Noto Serif. I might be missing something but I’m not seeing them as available when selecting font weight. I tried on browser and desktop versions of Figma with no luck. The italic versions are available on Google Fonts though.Normally, I would just download and add to my laptop through Google Fonts as a work around, but in this case that seems to make Figma read it as a local font which is unusable on Figma Sites.Does anyone know what’s going on?  

I need your help to resolve an issue with Figma Slides export. I created a presentation and spent considerable time on it. When I exported to PPTX, the file came out with major errors: colors shifted, frame properties changed, and some elements displayed incorrectly. I also tried exporting to PDF, but the same rendering issues appeared.Because of this, I was very disappointed and now I will have to rebuild the entire presentation outside of Figma Slides. Please clarify if there are fixes in progress or recommended workarounds to avoid such export problems.Thank you,Iryna

Hello Figma Support Team,The core feature for measuring distances between objects by holding the Alt  key has suddenly stopped working for me.This happened unexpectedly in the middle of my work. The measurement guides (redlines) no longer appear when I select an object, hold Alt, and hover over another element.I have already performed the following troubleshooting steps without success: Restarted my computer. Reinstalled the Figma desktop app. Tested this in both existing and brand new files (the issue occurs everywhere). Tested in the browser version of Figma, and the issue persists there as well. None of these steps have resolved the problem. Could you please look into this?Thank you.

I created this error message field, realized later there was a better way to set it up so changed the layout to this: I have some modals with form fields in them. There was a button to update the form fields within the modal, so I clicked it. However, the modals are still showing the old layout:  I don’t want to go through and manually update every single form field. How can I get all of them updated at once?

Items keep moving outside the parent frame when dragging them, copying and pasting them, or using alt+click to duplicate and drag. My coworkers are all experiencing the same thing and I’ve seen other posts on here but you close them after 3 days and don’t let anyone comment on them. Can you please fix this?  Thanks

Hi Figma Community,I attempted to re-verify my Figma student account, but the system is now showing “Verification limit exceeded.”I reached out to SheerID via email, but their response was:“We were unable to process your verification request. Your ticket has now been permanently closed.”Could you please suggest a solution for this issue? I won’t be able to re-verify my student plan otherwise, and this needs to be resolved before 29 September. I use COPY on one element, but as soon as I click on another, it copies the new element I clicked, losing the old one that was COPYed. This bug is driving me crazy, please help.

Hi, after I had been struggle to verify my academic status, contacted SheerID and waiting for response, I was noticed by my university to change my account Email address to my school gmail account. The problem is that since I had already processed my procedure to reverify my status by Sheer ID, I was blocked by Figma system. Considering the fact that now I have my account set with my School Email, I ask you to reset my verification record so that I can start the procedure again. Please don’t tell me to contact Sheer ID again because I already have. 

What’s going on with Figma? I’m trying to upgrade from the free plan to the Professional plan, but the process gets stuck on the “Choose Seat Types” step. As soon as I click “Next: Payment Information,” the button gets disabled and nothing happens. How is this even acceptable functionality?

Hi!I am developer and happy user of figma and figma API. I am using in particularhttps://api.figma.com/v1/files/JFl6cOTJN9uoy3UXyPGDAo/variables/localAfter fetching tokens i see few stuff which cause problems / questions.1. The endpoint return collections available in figma and their strange duplicated copies which contain empty variables. I checked with designers and we are unsure how to eliminate them. So far i filter them in code.2.  One collection is getting ‘Mode 1’ and i am not sure how to change / eliminate that. This is basically a variable used for versioning.3. The collections and also variables inside are always in random order, is there a way to apply sort to endpoint so that the endpoint return always the same resultI would appreciate help on above topics. :)All the best, Tomek
