While browsing through UI Kits available in figma such as iOS 18 / Material Design and so on, I came across an examples tab which, when dragged onto the screen, does not present an instance of component but an editable screen. Can someone tell me whether we can achieve this effect outside of UI Kit, i.e. in our own library, or is this a function available only in UI Kits?

I had this project and it just suddenly dissapered from my file and after a while I found it in trash when trying to restore it, it asked me to upgrade my plan to profesional but I couldn’t because I can’t afford the package is their any way that I can restore the project?

Hi, I am having issues using interactions on instances of components with their own interactions. Two concrete cases:Case 1:I have a button component with on-hover interaction. I create an instance of this button into a form step and make this form step a component. I add an on click interaction (or mouse up) that is going to set a variable, when the button is clicked I add an instance of the form. I can still see the on-clik interction for setting the variable. I add a second on-clik (or mouse up) interaction to change to a new frame, as I want it to smart animate between the two frames. The on-hover from the button component works as intended tough.Expected outcome is that clicking on the button now will both set the variable and change frame. However, it dosen’t work. I'm developing a Figma plugin that syncs library variables to local variables. I've noticed that when I call figma.teamLibrary.getAvailableLibraryVariableCollectionsAsync() multiple times, it seems to return cached results rather than fetching fresh data from the library.This is causing issues when I update variables in the library and then try to sync them again - my plugin doesn't see the updated variables because it's getting cached data.Example scenario:I run my plugin and sync variables from a library I update variables in the library I run my plugin again, but it doesn't see the updated variablesQuestions:Is there a way to force getAvailableLibraryVariableCollectionsAsync() to bypass the cache and get fresh data? When I change the theme color using the Material Theme Builder in the Material Design System 3 file, I can no longer switch modes to dark.

Is there a way to select multiple groups, and frame it into individual frames, rather than clicking one group and framing it one by one so that it is framed separately? I thought I could do it by selecting all and hitting Frame Selection (Ctrl+Alt+G), but I guess that groups it all together in ONE frame

Does Figma provide additional APIs or enhanced data access for plugins when using Dev Mode?I'm curious whether enabling Dev Mode in Figma unlocks any extra capabilities or data through the Plugin API—such as more detailed component properties, design tokens, or dev-specific metadata. I used the sRGB profile, but it still displayed as display p3.I hope to resolve the following problems:1. CSS does not display the color display p3 in Figma dev mode2. HiWe purchased full Seat, it mentioned full seat have AI acces but I’m not able access that. How can I acces AI feature in Figma? 

This didn’t happen before. I noticed today when I click on an object to add effects, the selection outline is in the way and I can’t see what I am doing properly.For example, applying a 1px inner shadow, or a slight drop shadow. I can’t see what I am doing now because the selection outline obfuscates everything.Is there a way to toggle this on and off, or have it like it was before?Thanks

If I remove editors before the billing date, will they still be included in the billing? Since team billing is independent, does it apply only to editors who have access at the time of billing, or does it include those who were removed before the billing date?

Hi. I’m an UI designer and I recently found out that the owner/admin of my current figma plan/group has left the company. I’m relatively new to figma so I researched how to change owner/admin and it seems like only the current owner can transfer/change ownership/admin. Since he has already left the company I’m stuck and don’t know any other way to do it. Is there any other way to change owner/admin?What we have is Figma Professional plan.Any advice, suggestions will be appreciated. Thank you.Naoki

I have a component set with 75 variants. I’m trying to add a new property for a larger size and then duplicate and scale all 75. I’m able to add the property and create the duplicates. When I select all 75 and use Scale only the one I selected scales the bounding box and all the others scale outside of their bounding boxes.I really only need 2 of them now. But when I select one that I need (the right facing arrow at the top left) and try to scale it all of the other ones with the same color also scale and their bounding boxes don’t. I can’t figure out why when I have one selected all of the others also update.Thank you!

We have a “Media” component in our design system which assigns the aspect ratio to a property. PropertiesAspect Ratio: 1:1 | 5:4 | 4:3 | 3:2 | 16:9 | 2:1 | 21:9Orientation: Horizontal | Vertical When we create an instance of this component, resizing works and the aspect ratio remains locked. Using the Aspect Ratio property works as expected. However, if the component is resized, then the Aspect Ratio property seems to break. It will make the instance resize to an arbitrary aspect ratio based on the width of the instance and the height of the variant for said property. If you simply click the edge or a corner as if to resize it, the instance updates to the appropriate aspect ratio.

Using fonts like Source Sans Pro or Signika from Google Fonts in Figma gives you the ability to use small caps (among other OTF features). But in code, small caps don’t work (the browser renders faux small caps). How does Figma makes it work, and how can I make it work on my code?

Hello everybody! Me and my team are experiencing rather strange behavior when applying string variables to the font family property of a text. Especially if this text is nested inside a component. I did report this as a bug already, but was wondering what the community is experiencing. Hey guys! I’m new to Figma, so forgive me if this is a totally stupid question. I’m trying to animate a spinning wheel for a loading screen using variants. I followed a handful of YouTube tutorials that all suggested the same method, but none of them animated when I previewed. I eventually caved and ripped someone’s from community, but it still would just sit there on preview. I eventually realized that I needed to hit reset (R) to make the animation occur. Pretty much what the title says.How do I access components from one file in another?

I’m looking for something really simple. I THOUGHT it used to be a simple “plus” button. I have a bunch of elements, I want to automatically add all those colors (or type styles if they’re text) to my library. what i’m looking for is to select all, hit a button, and have them added. then i can go in and rename them later. i could have sworn this was in Figma before. please help!
